    good afternoon, please tell me how do you think shimano zodias 270ml-2 cope with wobblers or jerkbait in size 110??

  • @endangasgar1876
    @endangasgar1876 3 года назад +3

    7:27 carbon tape (x-wrap) thinner? It could be thinner and wider density compare to your own old model which is tighter and thicker since the power is different. Your new Zodias is ML which is more flex than your previous one with harder power M and H.
    10:55 I can see another cosmetic addition i/e a hook keeper on butt section area just below the Eva grip
    Other points I'm agree with your opinion.

    So is anyone else having issues with these rods breaking??? I’m on my third one that just broke on me. The first one broke at the tip at that time my boy was working at BP so took it back. The second time I just got it back from warranty exchange two months ago or less. Fished with it around 3 times and I baby the damn thing. It broke a quarter of the way from the top while casting. This last time it broke in half while casting. All I use it for is throwing dead shrimp on a 1/16 jig head. It’s the 7’ MH so it should be more than enough rod for that.
    They travel with rod warrior neoprene covers and neoprene reel covers. All rods ride up in the cab of my truck so no slapping around in bed of truck. I have custom rods by fish stix, J&H and H&H that have never broke once. They treated great as well however not babied like this Zodias.
    I bought it for the fact that it looked great paired with the vanford. Which by the way is basically a brand new reel cause it spends more time sitting on the sidelines. This is a sad rod!!!

    I've got the new Zodias for $200 and a Megabass for $500. Almost identical in length but the Megabass has a lure rating of 1/4-1.25oz whereas the Zodias has 1/4-3/4oz I believe. Don't have the rods on hand. Honestly after fishing the Zodias I'm kicking myself for spending $500 on the Megabass. Neither is the greatest rod I've ever used but I'd take the Zodias over the Megabass Destroyer P5 all day.

      So the new ones feel more tip heavy? I'm obsessed with rod balance and was considering trying the new Zodias' but I remember trying the Zodias and Expride in tackle shops a few years back and both felt tip heavy even with the regular grips. @@vin18m rod handles has never gotten in my way when I cast unless I am wearing a heavy jacket or raincoat with big loose sleeves.
      They do make short postal grip style grips and handles. I'm sure there's a small market for short handles but Shimano is a big company geared for the majority.

    • @vin18m
      @vin18m 3 года назад

      @@rainzer0 completely agree, it’s just so hard to find a short handled baitcaster off the shelf these days. I ended up going custom built just so I could get what I wanted. Shimano also cater to the bigger US market, and I know you guys like the longer handles.

      @rainzer0 3 года назад +1

      @@vin18m don't get me wrong. One of my custom rod was literally 1" too long and it drives me insane sometimes. I might just saw 1" off the butt.
