Nice to read this. I have a flight next week Paris-singapore with Singapore Airlines of course (the best airlines on the world, my opinion). Last time, years ago, i was in a 747 from Paris. I just love this kind of vids, good job Hacki !
Wings are designed to flex for two reasons: -They smoothen the ride, just like suspension on a car. -They prevent stress from building up while flying through turbulent air.
Does anyone else feel uncomfortable during takeoff? Personally I love flying, but it's just takeoff that gets me uncomfortable. Great vid!!! Gotta love a Boeing!!
yea they do. well, considering how long the wings are, the metal probably has to bend a little. Its really fun seeing it though. B747-400 has a really pretty wing view in my opinion

Those engines are ballasted with depleted uranium. It prevents the engines from deflecting (pointing in any direction other than forward) too much while in flight. Sucks when they crash or the engines fall off, it tends to pollute stuff, uranium and all...
take-offs and landings are FUN!! When I fly back to Honolulu from Manila, I always book Continental (connect in Guam) and take the 'island hopper' flight from Guam to Honolulu (same price as CO2, but stops in 3 Micronesian Islands, Kwajelein Atol and Majuro) simply to experience SIX take-offs and landings as opposed to non-stop MNL-HNL (BOOOOORRRRING).
haha if you're scared of heights don't look down, also thats about one of the best shots of a takeoff showing the right wing side of a Singapore airlines Jumbo Jet that I've seen.
Definitely P&W engines. Btw, PW engines have a low and ghostly sound. GE has a high pitch whining sound, RR has a loud grinding sound, if wanted to expertly indentify engines.
Definitely a regional jet , looks like Embraer make, model E-135 or -145, thereabouts. (Shape just isn't right for a Canadair ...) Not sure on the carrier - perhaps Edelweiss?
Singapore Airlines is known for thier amazing inflight entertainment system "Krisworld". Were talking about Singapore Airlines here, a true quality airline. OF COURSE they will have an inflight entertainment system. lolz ;)
nice graphics :P oh! this is a real video... not FS9.. hehe just kidding I knew it was a real vid. Love the power of four Pratt and Whitney PW4056 engines. ;)
Take as much videos of the B747s now as within the next few years, these jumbos are gonna be replaced by A380s and B777-300s. Love the Sky Suite First Class seats though when i flew from Singapore to New York via Frankfurt.
Turbulence isnt the answer. Think of it like a seesaw. On the sides you move up and down. But if you in the middle you barely move a lot. So in a plane the best place to sit if you get sick easily is the very middle. In between the wings and in the middle row.
That's a rather interested factoid. Source, please? I suppose it must be said that, if this is true, it's a rather good thing that there haven't been any major crack-ups with a 744 like this ...
ANYONE FEELS THE SAME AS ME? During takeoff, my fists are clenched because the sound and power of the engines drives me wild. I purposely buy connecting flight tickets instead of nonstop flights. I like looking at the wing control surfaces (flaps etc..). Pointing out land marks and areas from above. Love the roar of thrust reverse. Sad when I reach my destination because that's the end of the plane ride. WHO IS WITH ME??? LOL
I love Switzerland so much. I always have tears in my eyes when leaving!
I love how wing flexes, so beautiful :)
awesome video man! especially liked it when plane went above the clouds!!!
Best takeoff video I've seen so far...and I've seen a lot.
And another one,SQ heavy highlighting the flexiability of those wings!oh&a nice touch of condensation on power up from engine 3!cheers.
this is the best view of the take off that i've ever seen...
Great shot of the wings and great engine power up at the start of the takeoff roll!

your vids are awesome. incredible quality, no jerkiness.. and you always record right up until the pilot retracts all the flaps. Keep it up!
Definitely one of the better take-off video's, thanks.
Great video!!!! The best powerfull this 747 in Takingoff!!
Rolls Royce Trent I Love You !!! beautiful take-off video..
man, take-offs are without question the coolest thing about flying...:)
i actually love takeoffs, especially the G-Force and the engine noise :)
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL FROM Hacki22!!!!!!!! GO Hacki22!!!!! YOU ROCK!
VERY BEAUTIFULL MOVIE.AND U GOT THE GREAT SEAT ONBOARD,LOVE IT MAN.

Great video! You actually can see the wing is so flexible that it bent slightly from pointing downwards to pointing upwards when taking off.
beautiful just brilliant.......love watchin this...awesome.....
Very nice work of the camera operator
very nice quality of the vid and nice engine view
one of my favorite airline and aircraft!
The classic 747's (100/200/300) have depleted uranium as trim weights on the engines. A modern -400 uses composites and aluminum alloys to do job.
Yes, that is the rush of air being sucked in through the fan before the blades go supersonic. Isn't it such the rush when you hear it?

Excellent video
love to travel in a B747. It is my favourite aircraft.
Thanks my friend for record this video. Good.
i still like the sound of A340's engines. very nice view from the inside. =)
Wow! That is one flexible wing.
great vid, alot of turbulance at takeoff. was it a windy day? looked like the wing was going to snap!

This is an awesome frickin' video :)))) That is what I call a TURNOUT!!
PW engines seem to be much quieter than RR on 747-400s, 767s, and 757s.
Awesome Thanks Chris
such a nice video
thz for the sharing...
Beautful lighting !
Amazing content!
NiCe oNe SinGapOre AiRliNes!!!!!!
CheErs To YoU!!!!!!!!
GoOd AircRafTs!!!
That is Flight SQ345 from ZRH to SIN. I flew with this 4 times:-) Nice Airline!
Does anyone know what that wheezing sound is that can be heard early, as throttle is being pushed? I've always loved that sound.
where were you flying too ??
Nice video, I flew from Chicago to Amsterdam on a KLM 747 ...
Hello! Its was nice flight!Where you flight to?Nice flight with Singapore Airlines!
I give you 5 star for this film!
Greeting TheCARRE74=)
Memories Thanks!!

Beautiful takeoff
awesome vid! i was on this flight...
This is another great departure vid. Just excellent! It looks very polluted over Zuerich :/
nice view, what seat was it? First class?
haha if you're scared of heights don't look down, also thats about one of the best shots of a takeoff showing the right wing side of a Singapore airlines Jumbo Jet that I've seen.
Those flaps were extended for a helluva long time!
@hayvant no, its actually dangerous if the wings dont flex. otherwise the wings would snap if they didnt flex
I love the old 747, reliable old girl, a sweet plane.
Not yet, there are 747-800s coming out, and Singapore might buy a few to acompany their A380s when the capacity is not needed.
Wow great Video!!!!:)
How the hell did you hold the camera perfectly still? Every in flight video I've shot always comes out a teensy bit shaky.
wonderful vid but shit! got a bit bumpy soon after take off though did you feel it alot
waad..how did u managed to video this.. this window doesent look like from the passenger seating area
wow, that's awesome !
P&W engines are so good!
Definitely P&W engines. Btw, PW engines have a low and ghostly sound. GE has a high pitch whining sound, RR has a loud grinding sound, if wanted to expertly indentify engines.
Are the engine sounds supposed to be softer after the take off roll starts?
you see the closest engine sucking condensation out of the moisture on the ground? wicked.
Definitely a regional jet , looks like Embraer make, model E-135 or -145, thereabouts. (Shape just isn't right for a Canadair ...) Not sure on the carrier - perhaps Edelweiss?
hey men is videoing ollowed in airplanes or can it affect the flying of the airplane????????
hey how do you keep the camera so steady???
Singapore Airlines is known for thier amazing inflight entertainment system "Krisworld". Were talking about Singapore Airlines here, a true quality airline. OF COURSE they will have an inflight entertainment system. lolz ;)
Yes, it's true!! Cause in the back you have a little more air turbulence, especially at tail.
nice graphics :P
oh! this is a real video... not FS9.. hehe just kidding I knew it was a real vid.
Love the power of four Pratt and Whitney PW4056 engines. ;)
thats typical on most 747 planes, actually its cause the engine farthest out is heavier then the one on the inner.
@sebbo6023 HOLY SHIT! Is there REALLY G-Force on a big plane like that? Wow! I can't wait to fly an A346 soon on my holiday!
love those pratt and whitneys.
There is something special about flying in a 747
@FSXGuy1 or camera legs?? :-)
The wings are build to flex a bit. If they don't flex, they would break quite easily
Take as much videos of the B747s now as within the next few years, these jumbos are gonna be replaced by A380s and B777-300s. Love the Sky Suite First Class seats though when i flew from Singapore to New York via Frankfurt.
this video is very nice...VERY STILL!
@PlaneAndTVtechfan all SIA 747's use Pratt and Whitney
very nice flight
i am the 300th rater
this the best
look at those engines !!!!!
Are those P&W? The symbol looks like GE
nice wing flex
Very Very nice...
Nice video - ;-)
I LOVEEEEEEE SINGAPORE AIRLINES JUST ORDERED A 747 MODEL OF IT :d
My parents went to New Zealand in the Singapore Airlines B747.

hey can u pls temme how was ur experience in dis airline??? thx
Singapore is the best!!!
did the pilot forget to retreat the flaps?
beautiful

fantastic
cool stuff
Singapore Airlines was phase out this type of Jumbo jets. Today, the number of A380 in Singapore fleet had outnumbered 747.
very nice
imma be flying in the next few weeks and i'm nervous as shit.

singapore airlines now uses 777-312er for thie route
