- Steep Skiing BlueBird Day on Spanky's Ladder and more
As I think I may be finally ready to ski the Coffin, I first need to do some other straight lines I am used to doing. The 2M Gully was insanely fast so I bailed on doing the coffin the same day, but the next snow fall its game on!
I think ;)

I love the "this looks sketch" and then you immediately straight line it.
That’s the way to do it. Don’t over think it stupid 😂
If its too easy its boring
New Year's morning 2000 my brother and I went to spankys and the patrolers let us go first down it. It snowed 2 feet that night and everyone was still hungover in bed. Great day.
Good stuff
This is why I need to move to Canada
I just skied that on Saturday was so much fun
Great video! I remember taking Spanky's a couple winters ago and taking one of the Emerald (or Ruby? something like that, basically the easier one) down the mountain. Nearly went over a cliff until I got about 15 feet from it and saw the cliff sign. Fun times
That looks like a ton of fun!
And scary at the same time
Skied spankys ladder in 1998
Awesome sunny spring day
I love Spankys! That’s a lot more attention grabbing in person than most folks realize. Nice job skiing that on a kinda firm day.
Thanks 👍
@@onecutmedia I’m interested in The Curl. Once you get past the lone pine tree it looks straightforward. Do you have a video on The Curl? Thank you. Also, would love to ski with you. My buddies and I will get ahold of you next visit after Covid gets gone.
@@hopNglo I’ll go ski it soon if the conditions permit
@@onecutmedia maybe this season?
This video is perfect for me. I know whistler /backcomb -but not all these little double Diamond areas that you show. I have similar skis and ability too. So its perfect for me to see where I can go with my son when we go next month.
I miss my Blackcomb 😢 can't get across the border . Thanks I got a little fix from your video. I appreciate the clips of the map and drawing lines in very kool man
You’re making a Vancouver skier very jealous 🤩
Never tried that line off 7th - will try after a bit of snow! Looked awesome! Sick line
Conditions are perfect now in that area. More snow will make the entrance tougher
I think pencil chute that you did last season is actually steeper than the coffin but clearly the challenge with the coffin is you have straight line it for about 25 metres...............respect for when you finally do that (which I have no doubt you will btw!) Best wishes from an avid skier stuck in lock down in the UK with little chance of skiing this season so your videos always bring me joy as I have been to Whistler 12 times and 2 of my boys did ski seasons there so know it very well. However you always introduce me to some new places in your videos. Keep them coming please ;)
Definitely steeper but not a straight line for me though some do it 🥶
@@onecutmedia Any way you chose to do it will be huge kudos! Will be even more impressive if you are able to turn as well
The one & only time my twin & I flew in (from NYC) for a 2-week Canadian adventure at Whistler/Blackcomb, we hit a patch of almost NOOO SNOW (in Jan/Feb). Perhaps most notable, -- when we got to the bottom of Whistler, we encountered such incredible slush, it felt like we were in one of those old Warren Miller ski videos -- where folks ski into 'ponds' for entertainment! 'Luck of the draw' fer sure, tho we DID revel in the beauty and enormity of your grand mountains! (PS. Spanky's Ladder?? Kudos for your warp speed entry!)
Hey Alice. You don’t know this but I am the dad of identical triplet boys They are 26 now
@@onecutmedia Identical triplet boys!! You hit the jackpot! But am more amazed that they are 26. On the slopes, you could be their 'contemporary.' ;-> My twin & I are Baby Boomers -- but on skis, we feel immortal! :-D
Where is everyone? The conditions look a little icy for whistler? You make skiing look easy! What length skis you on?
its not always busy, and not icy at all, those are 184cm and I am 5'7 so pretty big ;)
im 11 almost 12 a month ago I looked at 2M for a minute and said nope, headed down to the middle one and it was awesome. the snow in the bowl however was a little odd.
Blue bird day!!! That’s a rare occurrence in the glacier
That’s all we have at the moment
Sadly the downside is that we haven't gotten snow for a while
Its a good idea not to wax the skis before 2m gully 🤣
"just pitted myself" shwa!!
I’m so jealous I wanna go so badly. I can’t even ski locally cause our premiere shut down the entire province :(((((
I'm not a super fan of fast straight lines especially when the snow is hard 🤣
How long ago was this? Where is the line-up of hundreds of other people hiking the ladder?
last season, I don't go there first ever so no big line
What time of day did you ski it?
Morning
