Indian here but sometimes I feel ashamed of a few superstitions in my own culture which have put a really bad name to most Indians. I wanna move on to a different country since people back in India have the worst mentality but because of the prejudices people make on behalf of Indians due to the bad name some Indians have made, sometimes I get the sense of self hatred in me

Namiste, an East Indian word with multiple meanings, all pertinent to this story. This is a story of a person that my old friends would call a snob. She left all those "bad" memories behind of the struggles of life. But there are always some good memories in there. Like this episode reminded me of the old days in college when groups of us worked together to complete a project. The camaraderie and the satisfaction. Those were the days. Also, this story keyed in on the fact that memories can be accessed by tastes and smells, which was key to the plot resolution. This was an excellent story and I have met a person like Rita in my life once or twice. I am happy that once she accessed her memories, she found her humanity. Thank you DramatizeMe for presenting another excellent and powerful story about the human condition.

OMG this hit home for me in so many ways that I can't express and can't get into at this time, on this forum. As an American we see so many people come into our country and disguise their background. Change their names, and culture to fit in. In reality most Americans love to see other cultures and learn new things. You do find some who are brought up to be racist but for the most part, they admire people who stick to their principles and beliefs.
I also understand why some wish to forget their past, they have stigma and feelings of shame. In my home ALL Children of Adam are welcome. ( as long as you have good manners, and if you don't I can teach them to you). I don't discriminate when it comes to living beings. And I think everyone should embrace their beauty, uniqueness and differences. If we were all the same things would be extremely boring. That actress ... her eyes. she was amazing. Guidance and Blessings fellow humanoids. Be well. And thank you for posting. Cheers.

@@mizthang5740Brother.. The word caste isn't local to India. It's the colonizers word. We had the varna system wherein as per everyone's talent and skills they were sorted out into groups. This got again manipulated to the godamn caste system thanks to the divide and rule policy of the Britishers.. We are moving out of the caste but not the varna system cause that's our culture. Caste is bad but varna ain't

Racisme is something else that is so unacceptable. But it still happens everywhere.
I have met a lot of different people, Indians, black people, white people, asians.. I have never discriminated anyone because anyone can have the kind heart that everyone needs, regardless no matter where they come from. Should never discriminate any human being

Harita came to a new country, just wanting to fit in, be successful, and just be accepted for who she was. Instead, she was treated like dirt, made fun of, and given impossible tasks, just because she was Indian, which broke her inside. She decided that the only way to be accepted and to be successful was to totally disinherit herself from everything and everyone related to her Indian culture! As she climbed the ladder and became more and more successful, she was sure that she made the right decision.
When she met Probu, she lost it. Why was this Indian man who so obviously totally embraced his Indian heritage here?? She could not handle it, and she knew she needed to get rid of him as quickly as possible! She gave him an impossible task to do, like what was done to her.
But Probu did not crack! He was a gentle, humble spirit, and took it in stride. It was so heartwarming to see the whole team, despite Harita's threats, jump right in and work all night to help him! The words he said to Harita the next morning, as he was leaving, he knew she needed to hear, and hopefully she would at least reflect on herself and on her actions and decisions! When she tasted the Indian dish, her closed eyes, and her expression seemed to me like she was transported to an earlier time in her life, fully immersed and surrounded by her Indian culture, and the people in her life at that time.
I knew the ending would be good because DramatizeMe never disappoints, but this was brilliant! When Probu showed up, and I saw Harita like that, I actually got chills, which is VERY rare for me to experience!
The acting, especially from Probu and Harita was beyond great! Your writing team and actors are really putting out high quality stories, and I love that they are not the same old tired stories that everybody else does over and over! This comment is not just picking words out of the air that will sound good! These are the thoughts and words that comes to me as I think about what I just watched, and try to write down my actual feelings about all aspects of the story! Your entire team is doing a great job! Thank you again DramatizeMe!

This is a big slap for people of Indian origin looking down on Immigrants from India who work their butt out to sustain in a new country I remember when I was working on Ship a newly obtained British passport holder who was born and was dwelling in India since his childhood used racist comments on me then me and my Indian team got him fired due to his arrogant behavior. Me being Indian passport holder and citizen of India believes in equality and with my Indian passport I have travelled almost 24 countries solo
