I worked at my local Kubota dealership for 5 and 1/2 years. I used to find things wrong all the time on the pre-delivery inspection, and I used to have to argue with my service manager to fix them before a customer received the tractor. I used to fail the pre-delivery inspections because the tractors needed the work, to the point it happened so many times corporate came to our location and told my boss this or going to change or you are losing your dealer license.
Kubota 7060 best work horse in the fleet! I have 2022 model, it’s amazing, Your dealer may suck but My dealer has a motto “1st Tractor is sold by the salesman, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th will always be sold by service department.”
I had pre-delivery issues with my Kubota BX2680 w/ 60-inch mower deck & loader bucket. The dealer installed the foldable ROPS backwards. They also underfilled the coolant. Found out the hard way when it started to overheat cutting 12+ inch grass in an overgrown old pasture. I was naive enough then to assume these things were just going to be done correctly. Took care of them myself. Other than that it has been absolutely reliable & worth every penny.
I have a kubota m5400. 2.8L no electronics. 3700 hours and only needed a starter so far. Its a stripper model and two wheel drive but dead nuts reliable. I can brush hog 10 hour days and have no worries other than sun burn.
I bought my M7060 in March of 2016. I have pulled a 12' ih disc and a 16' ih-46 field cultivator with no problems. I have sold them both for much larger tillage equipment that I pull with an ih-1086. I still use the M7060 for planting corn with a John Deere 7000 6 row planter. I do all the spraying and side dressing with it as well. The only problem I have had with it is the idler pully has gone bad. I wish the front tires were wider, like the newer M series have. Overall, I have had a great experience and a good dealer to deal with. You have some very good points about the hole farm equipment industry. Great job on the video.
Purchased an M4, new, a year ago. Several of your issues are addressed with the newer M4s. Of course, it has emissions equipment, if that bothers you. Good review from you and valid points!
I've got the M5040 just like yours but with less HP. It has been rock solid reliable. Was considering Kioti until I went to the Kioti dealer and test drove one, it had many parts missing on it they had removed to use as warranty parts on other kioti's, no thanks. I bought the kubota and am so happy I did.
Parking break: okay, they tried something new, found out it sucks, but, they went back to what does work, better than most companies that keep what doesn't work.
I always liked watching your videos. I've been waiting 3 or 4 years to know why your tractor was spitting the oil out. I have undergone most of what you've been through. The bigger m6 cabs are nice and roomy but the ac can't keep up. Still ultra limited on taking things with you. I keep a 5 gallon bucket on the right side of cab. The paint does clean up well with a drill pad and compound
500 hours on my open station after 18 months, been flawless. Work the hell out of it planting, haying, feeding cows all winter. Bought it as a utility tractor to use just to feed cows but it’s my go to pretty much always. Wish it had a bigger fuel tank, better lighting, and a more robust three point that lifts higher but other than that I don’t know what I’d ask for.
On or farm years ago we sold all our green tractors (JD) and bought a new Kubota 9540 & Kubota 9000 I've put close to 3,000hrs on the 9540 with only a handful of minor repairs and the same thing with the 9000 which has 2,400hrs it's had two clutches installed first clutch at 1,200hrs and the second at 2,200hrs that's the major repair between the two tractors. Both tractors never fail to start in super cold weather (without starting fluid). We've never had these kinds of results running the JD's and we have no intentions of getting rid of these Kubota's because of them being very reliable tractors
I don’t disagree agree with anything you said but just to give your viewers some perspective, I bought a used M4700 about 12 years ago with only about 350 hours and I am very pleased. It’s a simple rugged machine, extremely reliable. No cab, stick shift, two wheel drive but tough as an anvil. I use it almost exclusively for brush mowing and if I can drive over it I mow it. I think it’s gonna outlast me.
About halfway through: to be fair, John Deere doesn't make any accommodations for anything in the cab either, no place for the phone, cup goes on the floor, bounces around and spills, etc.
I am curious about the front tires. Are they on backwards for a reason? My first glance, looks like they are opposite of the rear ones. We have a Kubota 3240. Thanks for the review!
A couple reasons. Better for tractors w/ loader. Forward and Reverse traction. Also they claim, tire wear is reduced. Front R-1 tires on 4wd will wear much faster than rears.
Thanks for the information, at 70 years old I still learn and have never heard of that before. We have 3 tractors (I rebuilt the Ford 4000 3 cyl & 8N) and only the Kubota 3240 has a loader and I never run that one.@@cleobean8723
Steering pump is behind right rear tire, its a tandem pump, steering is the front section of the pump where the shaft goes into housing. Check magnets on your hydraulic filters for metal debris from pump wear
For the high range lever, get a price of pipe insulation cut it and put it around the lever and tape it closed with electrical tape. It will keep it from rattling.
I agree, however, that cab is bigger than the cab on my John Deere 4066R. They used the same tiny cab as their 3 series, couldn't put your coat in there much less a lunch cooler. That's one of the reasons I traded it for the 5 series which has a nice roomy cab. The three prong electrical outlet there is an industry standard power hook up on small utility tractors on up for powering implement electronics, cab electronics and such. On terminal is ground, one is constant +12v and the third is a +12v ignition switched terminal so when the ignition is turned off, there's no power.
Putting the treads facing backwards cut way down on tire wear especially for highway use. You'll go thru 2-3 sets of front tires fir every set of rear tires. People who drive their tractors with MFWD on paved roads will often turn their front tires backwards to get noticeably long life out the front tires.
I run an l6060 at my work for snow removal. I noticed the hydraulics weren't right on the front blower and even worse when the loader was on. Turns out a hydraulic line was crushed when the cab was installed....mind you this was a 6 year old tractor when I started using it. Nobody noticed.
With as tall as that cab is ... a fabricobbling expert might figure out how to make a shelf system up there with locking bins so stuff doesn't fall out navigating a ditch crossing.
The upper link doesn't need the larger pin since it doing less the 10% in almost every job. About the paint everyones been cutting the UV stabilizer since the prices skyrocketed you see it most in plastics. I feel there should be a number on plastic and paint that has the amount of Vu stabilizer used most people would pay for the good stuff.
It greatly prolongs the tire life for highway use. It's very common for farmers around here to use this same tire setup on leased units that they mainly use them to transport wagon/trailors on the highway between their fields and factory. Again it saves greatly on front tire wear.
i've missed ole chuck the duck videos. i'm guessing if this is from this year, it's mid harvest. anyway, i dunno if you care enough about it, but there was a recall on certain kubota tractors for fade on the plastic of the hoods and fenders.
All makes sense and is valid but i dont have hardly those issues but i dont buy the smaller consumer line of tractors which is more about selling on Price than the large farm tractors sell on features and the options that the customer will need . I used to get Case tractors under a program that had a 10 year warranty and it was a great program and as the user we had to follow the guidelines and maintain by the Rules . I Do have some Agco Fendts on the farm and they have a full service program and will keep you going no matter what and will supply you with a backup machine if they cant fix yours. The Program adds around 12,000 on top on a 300,000$ machine ...
You have your radio wired wrong. There is an adaptor available on amazon that does have the ACC wire. It is a 9 pin adapter you'll use 7 of those. I just did the install on 2 M7060s and 1 M6060. Took 3 different radios all north of $100 to not have alternator whine (even with a powered noise isolator!) Finally settled on the Alpine UTE-73BT not to thrilled with it due to the aforementioned noise interference but I belive thats less to do with the radio and more to do with the alternator. The good part is it sounds great! The bluetooth has awesome range and connects quickly. The screen is nice and bright and can be seen clearly even though looking almost directly up is not the intended viewing angle.
Bro you need a deere 7510 we have 2 with over 9000 hrs and other than the radio dying in one no major or minor issues just oil changes, filter changes, batteries, and tires every 3 years. Had both since around 600 hours. Fire right up when cold. Pulls a 16 ft 22 inch disc at 8mph with no problems, 24ft disc it will do but its not to happy about it. The loader from deere picks up 6000lbs no problems although the front tires do squat pretty uard when you do it.
We have a 2020 kubota we bought new with the m4-071 now with 1000hrs. Our m4 has a the newer huge m5 cab it’s great. Buddy seat and all. And a lot of of others better options you say it lacked.
After watching this , I'm thinking why buy new if there isn't a warranty , nothing is put together right and everything goes wrong. The 12 speed is known to have problems
My 7060 has worked flawlessly. I have abused it and broken parts completely my fault. The most amazing thing is that with 900 hours on it the resale value is what I paid for it 5 years ago. Same tractor today costs 14k moire than 5 years ago..
I agree. I work for 🐈 and a lot of issues come from them the build schedule and them wanting to hit their numbers, but yet they talk about efficiency, and making less defects. A lot of supervisors all across the board 🐈, Kubota, John 🦌, whoever. Quality has gone down down bevause quality takes time and hurts them htting their numbers
Those warranty problems really aren't here in Europe the European union even forces companies to give warranty and actually provide it to their customers by law. Yes farm machinery mostly lags from high tech controls just because don't having all these electronics makes them way more reliable. It is the way it is. The controls placement problems are only in the low end priced machines normally so yeah that's something Kubota isn't really known for but I believe it's better now. The steering gear I believe they've changed it.
It's Bel-uh-ruse...Like the country it came from...Belarus. Also Re: live wire to radio, our IH, AC, and Case equipment from the 70s, 80s, and 90s has a live wire to the radio. 4x4 auto brakes, White had that in the 90s/2000s.
I have the identical tractor w/1700 hrs on it. Parking brake definitely sucks....mine has popped out many times, but after the first few times I always test it to see if it will or not, but it does still do it and I reset it and test it again before ever getting out of the seat. Toolbox....definitely a worthless POS. Lighting.....yes, could not be worse. As far as cleaning those screens under the hood, you have to undo the wingnut to slide out the evap/condenser assy to get the front screen out, but the larger screen in front of radiator you have to shimmy out and in.....and good luck ever being able to get to the radiator from either side to blow out debris that will definitely get in there and COOK to the fins. Rust on your cab hardware is strange, I have 50% more hrs on mine and don't have a spec of rust on any of that hardware. My single biggest gripe....by far......Come on Kubota, put a F***in remote button to operate the 3-point lift when hooking up attachments! WTF! Even shitty tractor mfr's have it. The $20 it would cost could easily be offset by eliminating that POS bracket and abortion of a toolbox altogether, because you can't use it anyways. Rant over. Carry on.
28:00 The internal computer components have a shelf life. The ecu eventually wear out and will need replaced so we have that to worry about along with mechanical breakdowns. I been watching a tuber that works on big JD equipment. Those ecu are cooled by fuel because it actuates the injectors. Ive seen him replace them on tractors that look new. The ecu is only as good as the lowest bid components they got. Hopefully aftermarket is available.
No manufacturer makes anything perfect, I bought a new Massey Ferguson last year and it had a couple problems. Nothing major, but Massey fixed the problems no questions asked (all under warranty). With the amount that they charge for new tractors, some of the other manufacturers need to have a better warranty.
2019 Kubota M7060 here with less than 500 hours was bought brand new. It stays parked in a garage out of the weather and washed after each use to keep it looking new. It has been in the shop probably 8 to 12 times now which 3 of the last shop calls included the rear cvt connections leaking even with them never being used. The last 3 service issues we have reported the rear cvt leaking or staying wet. They claim it was loose and fixed but after a few hours of use it gets wet again. The last service call was for rear hydro not lifting but front was lifting fine along with cvt still wet from fluid leak. They charged $150 to tow into the shop and kept it for nearly 2 weeks. We get a call that a valve under the cab was bad and could not repair unless the cab was removed which they wanted to charge $800. I was p***ed with them because each time we send in for service or defect they always say other repairs are needed with a high cost. They ended up replacing the valve for $400 because it was not under warranty and insurance wouldn't cover the repair cause the machine was not damaged. Soooooo we have it back now and the rear cvt is still leaking...We will go green again with our next tractor purchase since we were never taken advantage of with our last John Deere.
I have the same machine - no problems yet. It's a good machine. I don't think your assessment of the toplink pin is accurate. The tractor is fine for ground engagement. The majority of pulling strength for an implement is through the two lower arms. I'm certain Kubota thoroughly tested the M7060 for pulling and that upper pin probably has a crazy shear strength.
As many problems as you have with it by 2019 my first m6060 went to 2,300 hours before it had its first problem then got stolen. My 2022 m7060 at 400 hours has been flawless also. And it gets used on construction projects.
My Belarus 525 has metric sized holes in the top-link hard-point. Yes, it's bigger than category 1 pins ( 3/4" ), BUT it's NOT as big as a category 2 pin ( 1" ). ????

100% agree. I keep my 1966 John Deere 310 for shure. I testet a few new 26-50hp Tractors > crap (and the adblue...). Thank`s for share
Spray a tad bit of OSPHO on that rust, let it dry, put POR-15 over it, then paint to protect the POR-15 from UV light

The cup holder has all the big bolts because it is also used for a buddy/jump seat.

I Do have some Agco Fendts on the farm and they have a full service program and will keep you going no matter what and will supply you with a backup machine if they cant fix yours. The Program adds around 12,000 on top on a 300,000$ machine ...

You have your radio wired wrong. There is an adaptor available on amazon that does have the ACC wire. It is a 9 pin adapter you'll use 7 of those. I just did the install on 2 M7060s and 1 M6060. Took 3 different radios all north of $100 to not have alternator whine (even with a powered noise isolator!) Finally settled on the Alpine UTE-73BT not to thrilled with it due to the aforementioned noise interference but I belive thats less to do with the radio and more to do with the alternator. The good part is it sounds great! The bluetooth has awesome range and connects quickly. The screen is nice and bright and can be seen clearly even though looking almost directly up is not the intended viewing angle.

Bro you need a deere 7510 we have 2 with over 9000 hrs and other than the radio dying in one no major or minor issues just oil changes, filter changes, batteries, and tires every 3 years. Had both since around 600 hours. Fire right up when cold. Pulls a 16 ft 22 inch disc at 8mph with no problems, 24ft disc it will do but its not to happy about it. The loader from deere picks up 6000lbs no problems although the front tires do squat pretty uard when you do it.

We have a 2020 kubota we bought new with the m4-071 now with 1000hrs. Our m4 has a the newer huge m5 cab it’s great. Buddy seat and all. And a lot of of others better options you say it lacked.

Not to be that guy but I recommend taking a look at new holland tractors. Light years ahead of what this tractor is. Very reliable as well
My 7060 has worked flawlessly. I have abused it and broken parts completely my fault. The most amazing thing is that with 900 hours on it the resale value is what I paid for it 5 years ago. Same tractor today costs 14k moire than 5 years ago..
I agree. I work for 🐈 and a lot of issues come from them the build schedule and them wanting to hit their numbers, but yet they talk about efficiency, and making less defects. A lot of supervisors all across the board 🐈, Kubota, John 🦌, whoever. Quality has gone down down bevause quality takes time and hurts them htting their numbers

Those warranty problems really aren't here in Europe the European union even forces companies to give warranty and actually provide it to their customers by law. Yes farm machinery mostly lags from high tech controls just because don't having all these electronics makes them way more reliable. It is the way it is. The controls placement problems are only in the low end priced machines normally so yeah that's something Kubota isn't really known for but I believe it's better now. The steering gear I believe they've changed it.

I have the identical tractor w/1700 hrs on it. Parking brake definitely sucks....mine has popped out many times, but after the first few times I always test it to see if it will or not, but it does still do it and I reset it and test it again before ever getting out of the seat. Toolbox....definitely a worthless POS. Lighting.....yes, could not be worse. As far as cleaning those screens under the hood, you have to undo the wingnut to slide out the evap/condenser assy to get the front screen out, but the larger screen in front of radiator you have to shimmy out and in.....and good luck ever being able to get to the radiator from either side to blow out debris that will definitely get in there and COOK to the fins. Rust on your cab hardware is strange, I have 50% more hrs on mine and don't have a spec of rust on any of that hardware. My single biggest gripe....by far......Come on Kubota, put a F***in remote button to operate the 3-point lift when hooking up attachments! WTF! Even shitty tractor mfr's have it. The $20 it would cost could easily be offset by eliminating that POS bracket and abortion of a toolbox altogether, because you can't use it anyways. Rant over. Carry on.
28:00 The internal computer components have a shelf life. The ecu eventually wear out and will need replaced so we have that to worry about along with mechanical breakdowns. I been watching a tuber that works on big JD equipment. Those ecu are cooled by fuel because it actuates the injectors. Ive seen him replace them on tractors that look new. The ecu is only as good as the lowest bid components they got. Hopefully aftermarket is available.

No manufacturer makes anything perfect, I bought a new Massey Ferguson last year and it had a couple problems. Nothing major, but Massey fixed the problems no questions asked (all under warranty). With the amount that they charge for new tractors, some of the other manufacturers need to have a better warranty.

2019 Kubota M7060 here with less than 500 hours was bought brand new. It stays parked in a garage out of the weather and washed after each use to keep it looking new. It has been in the shop probably 8 to 12 times now which 3 of the last shop calls included the rear cvt connections leaking even with them never being used. The last 3 service issues we have reported the rear cvt leaking or staying wet. They claim it was loose and fixed but after a few hours of use it gets wet again. The last service call was for rear hydro not lifting but front was lifting fine along with cvt still wet from fluid leak. They charged $150 to tow into the shop and kept it for nearly 2 weeks. We get a call that a valve under the cab was bad and could not repair unless the cab was removed which they wanted to charge $800. I was p***ed with them because each time we send in for service or defect they always say other repairs are needed with a high cost. They ended up replacing the valve for $400 because it was not under warranty and insurance wouldn't cover the repair cause the machine was not damaged. Soooooo we have it back now and the rear cvt is still leaking...We will go green again with our next tractor purchase since we were never taken advantage of with our last John Deere.
I have the same machine - no problems yet. It's a good machine. I don't think your assessment of the toplink pin is accurate. The tractor is fine for ground engagement. The majority of pulling strength for an implement is through the two lower arms. I'm certain Kubota thoroughly tested the M7060 for pulling and that upper pin probably has a crazy shear strength.
As many problems as you have with it by 2019 my first m6060 went to 2,300 hours before it had its first problem then got stolen. My 2022 m7060 at 400 hours has been flawless also. And it gets used on construction projects.
My Belarus 525 has metric sized holes in the top-link hard-point. Yes, it's bigger than category 1 pins ( 3/4" ), BUT it's NOT as big as a category 2 pin ( 1" ). ????
