    Damn there's some beautifully practical machinery there!
    Particularly liking the Douglas with opposing pistons - who would have thought such a configuration could sound so competitive.

    High Beech is where the first English Speedway meeting was held in 1928.

      My late Father was at that meeting, he remained a fan all his life [96], like him, I am still an ardent fan of the Sport, sadly now, at the age of 86 can only follow all the meetings on TV. It still gives me a big "Buzz".

    Is that red tank Rudge ? DOHV isn't it ?

      Yes - The bike with the red tank is a Rudge Dirt Track - 1930 TT pattern - with four overhead valves and roller bearing rocker gear - wet sump lubrication with crankcase to be drained between races.
