Project Zomboid is an open-world isometric survival horror video game in development by British and Canadian independent developer The Indie Stone. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world where the player is challenged to survive for as long as possible before inevitably dying.
'Til Death Us Do Part was a story included in Project Zomboid as its own game mode. It served as the tutorial to introduce new players to the basic concepts of Project Zomboid, like base fortification, scavenging, and fending off hostile undead and survivors.
In 2013, 'Til Death Us Do Part was removed from the game, along with NPC survivors, with the release of version RC 2.9, due to NPCs being far too buggy. The Indie Stone did not abandon the story and have stated they still have big plans for NPCs and the story of Bob and Kate.

We definitely need a "military" expansion. Map is so huge and yet only thing that is close to military base is a Louisville checkpoint. The "hidden" facility in south-west corner barely qualifies as one since it's got nothing military in it except army zombies and a single security-grade weapons locker.

I enjoy playing the game with a few map mods.
There is the "Research Facility, KY", 3 Fire Departments, Redstone Raceway, the West Point Lighthouse, etc.
There are many different Military bases in the workshop

i went to the hidden lab and it now has military lockers

I think the canon reason the hidden military base isn't loaded with weapons and ammunition is that it's more of a classified research center rather than a full-blown armory.
Aren't they planning on adding the knox military base in the future ?
I think they are because they have definitely talked about Fort Knox being added into the game
well finaly geting millitary grade weapons will be easier as well as a huge stockpile of gold
They definitely do just not right now exactly. In fact, those weird roads leading to a dead end between Muldraugh and March Ridge are exactly where Fort Knox is supposed to be.
If you count the research facility then technically there is one :D
Also the fact that one of the radio stations says the irl coordinates to Fort knox I'd say it isn't too far fetched for it to be added plus they could add some event or even npcs there

tbh i would love that for a future update, perhaps with the AI addition if the AI are voiced

I don't think so. Especially if you have mods that add more dialogue, tv shows, radio broadcasts, etc it would be pretty immersion breaking if they jumped between voiced and invoiced stuff since mods are a lot less likely to be able to get high quality voice acting

The fort Knox is literally the one of the well-equipped and heavily-guarded bases in america, I wonder what is going on there. (Probably heavily guarded as a foothold, airdropping supplies.)

Also, it could be sick if the player can enlist into American military (or what's left of it) and tank those zombies.
Issue remains that lore wise, the disease is airborne and only some people like the player are immune to the airborne variant, but bites infect everyone.
So the base is probably pretty bummed too. Since its unclear when exactly it started spreading outside of the exclusion zone.
I dont know if its still lore, but i remember the radio or tv interviewing someone who said "something was released by the horde which attacked the perimiter". Since people complained of a strange smell before the exclusion zone was a thing, and then before it spread out of the exclusion zone.
And it makes sense, since the infection spread across the world starting in countries with US military bases, since military planes are allowed even after a world wide grounding of civilian flights.
Since even though the military is mentioned to have gas masks and CBN-gear at all times, its nearly impossible to ensure 100% adherence to such gear at all times. All it takes afterall is one guy to have a bad filter, and then turning in the night at the guard post or sleeping bunks or the likes.

@@Honner_Mr The famous axis of earth theory of 1930s, according to the records of official Nazi documentations Hitler was one of the most hardcore believer of it, he sent several exploration teams through out the world to seek out the entrance of underworld/Shangrila/garden of Eden, to find relics of previous generation of godlike humanoid, one of the hot spot he believes the entrance located was in the general area of north west china, which is matching the GPS coordinates.
I would have guessed that it was Americans saying that the last bastions of humanity were in China and that they teamed up with the Americans to broadcast it but Fort Knox makes a lot more sense

I expect once the npcs get added in and once Fort Knox comes actually gets made (if it does) you will be able to meet some soldiers bunkered down within the base and maybe even the radio person

I'm honestly surprised Fort Knox doesn't exist in Zomboid. The first time I heard it takes place in Knox county KY I assumed the military base would be one of the best places to set up shop.
It definitely has "Place to put an NPC center" written all over it for the next few updates
They are planning to add Fort Knox to the game eventually after NPC's which basically implies what you said being true to the devs too.
I hope they make the Louisville checkpoint had some notes lying around by a no name soldier, which tells the events of what happened there in the first few days of the outbreak. And the last note is in his pocket after he became a zombie.
Someone has likely already said this but militaries will often send information via public radio to undercover agents and just will make it seem nonsensical. Or unrelated.

To anyone who doesnt know - the chinese coordinates correspond to the location of one of many chinese concentration camps that they call "Re-Education Camps"

well technically they are more like work camps than concentration camps. prisoners do get treated harshly but they aren't worked to death or killed for looking at staff the wrong way. at least, it is not allowed. it is hard to say what is actually happening there, but it should be quite similar to american high security prisons, just with more work.

So the Devs said a while ago they plan to add Fort Knox into the game but we're only going to do it after they added NPcs.
Makes me think it will be filled with very alive humans.

Man, this game and barotrauma make me as excited and hype as they make me impatient. The things my mind can imagine them adding to the game… I get all giddy just thinking about how awesome and polished these games are gonna be in a couple of years, considering how good they already are, but then I remember how long I have to wait and it makes me sad, and then I worry that the games are going to suffer from success like minecraft, and will end up going in a direction that doesn’t live up to all the ideas we had for the game, not that minecraft is bad, far from it. it’s one of my favorite games, but there was something about it before… this vision, this feeling of boundless possibility, that it could go in any direction, that you could turn it into whatever you wanted, this hostile and dangerous mysterious world that you could make yours, this feeling that every action you took was towards an adventure that was made for you, almost as if it revealed something about who you are. A lovely virtual canvas in which you could imprint your soul, nothing was by design, but you could make it, and it would be yours. I guess the good thing about life and the future is that I can feel these feelings again in new places and with new ideas, minecraft can never be what it was… i just know too much about it by now, we’re far past the time of let’s plays, of exploration, of curiosity or newnesss, everyone knows what minecraft is. and while everything I said is still technically true for the game itself, the culture around it has shifted into seeing how far we could mutate and push the core premise, what we could turn minecraft into, not what minecraft is or could be. I know there won’t be something no one has ever seen before just past that virtual mountain side, I like what I have but part of me misses the mystery within the game, the idea that anything could be inside, be it herobrine, be it a portal to the heavens, be it music videos or lore made up by people just as passionate and imaginative as me, narratives created just because they’re fun. I hope these games can deliver on their visions, I hope things go more like terraria, And I hope more games are released and updated that feel like they were made just because someone thought they were cool, and not just to buy another penthouse or Ferrari.
well irl in the past they needed to send conversations and plans so they secure it with changes on what a number can mean at that time so if the enemy intercept it they cant do anything about it.
if that is the situation then i wonder who is the enemy and what are they trying to hide?
The enemies are probably raiders or hostile militias. Now what they’re trying to hide or reveal could be anything from supply drops, horde movement, bombing coordinates, etc.
they just probably following the protocol & avoiding trouble with raiders and civs
So the coordinates point to the very core origin of the virus (probably) and the most safe base
As long as they make it really challenging to clear / secure the military base, maybe a couple armoured zombies 🤷🏻

I usually start as a "soldier" and leave notes around the modded bases/checkpoints i have. There is a mod i use that adds in WAY more checkpoints around the county, making it seem like the containment zone was slowly spread and the military fell behind. I secured an Army Base i have modded in outside of Riverside (Brandenburg), i have at least 30 superb survivor NPCs, one named Gen McGrew, and i am taking back knox county from the infection one day at a time. The safest place in the world is probably where it all started anyways

Hey I thought I found an airfield in the game. I had a glitch when I tried to get into the rv and ended up far out west longest walk I had in the game to get back home to base

Fun fact: My father in the marines went to Fort Knox in Kentucky for part of his military service.
I know that Fort Knox itself is gonna be added at some point. March Ridge is the military housing for Knox. I know the military did pull out of the Fort and leave the quarantine doors open, so I can wager it’ll be one of the most dangerous areas in the game
Always love when devs sneak game, lore, or otherwise related (say location of dev headquarters) coords into games. Like the lat long coords on your wrist watch in MW2 taking you to Activision HQ if I remember right.

I found a Telescope in the middle of a field with a dead alien next to it. Anyone else seen this? I don't remember where on the map i found it. near one of the main highways i think. I don't know if that was from a mod or a easter egg. The mods i use are lore friendly ones that add small touches to the game. Has anyone else seen this? I cant find any info online about it.

Fort Knox IS in Kentucky and is known for being the most heavily guarded military complex in the entire world and has half of the U.S's gold reserves according to a quick Google search.
You wouldn't actually hide your gold where you say you do.

Knox Country is directly named after Ft. Knox, since it's in the same surrounding area.
When npcs come there will be so much potential for that.

Fort knox is a famous place for being so well-guarded for some reason. In the movie "Penguins of Madagascar: The Movie" the penguins manage to break in with wacky tactics, but instead of grabbing the vast amount of gold they discover, they instead steal the cheetos puff the penguins crave.
