    THOUGHTS ON MDMA:
    Just to be clear - I'm not saying that everyone should go out and take MDMA to have a therapeutic experience. There are lots of risks to consider. One of the biggest dangers of MDMA is the fact that the vast majority of "MDMA" being sold is cut or laced with another substance. This can be dangerous, and in many cases deadly when laced with fentanyl.
    IF you are going to try MDMA in a recreational way, please please please at least get a fentanyl test kit and test whatever you get before you take it. Also remember that I'm not a doctor or health care provider of any kind. This episode is just about me sharing my own personal experience.
    Also, MDMA is being used in therapeutic contexts around the country, and there is lots of academic research happening around it right now too. The potential of this substance - when used with intention - is massive.
    Personally, I don't like to take any substance to the point where I feel unable to function. I am open to OCCASIONALLY exploring micro amounts of substances in very specific experiences, but drugs & alcohol taken in the stereotypical party context are not interesting to me.

    I have mad respect for your open mindedness.
    Are you ever afraid of getting entangled with people energetically? Only problem I would have with something like this personally.

    • @taylorclarkjohnson
      @taylorclarkjohnson  Год назад +4

      I definitely live an unconventional life, but it’s one of major growth, connection and learning. It’s my hope that by being open like this, I can at least inspire other people to think differently and open their minds - even if they never do any of the things I do.
      Personally, I’m not worried about getting energetically entangled with people. I’ve found that it’s almost always avoidable if you have clear communication and desires up front. I HAVE had to practice communication a lot, but it has paid off tremendously. Check out my podcast episode on the topic: www.taylorjohnson.life/intimacy-and-nonviolent-communication/

    You helped me with this episode in ways I didn't really expect. It's a bit hard to put it into words right now, but I'll give it a shot.
    I had a couple of breakthroughs with my last girlfriend in terms of intimacy and love and open heartedness. However when she broke up with me, it felt like those things were lost as well. All those breakthroughs and new experiences...gone. It's been a year now (roughly) and I have had episodes where the realization came to me that this is wrong and not all that was gained is lost just because she is gone. And listening to this podcast gave me another episode of exactly that - an epiphany of sorts. You reminded me of my open heart, man. And the love that I carry within and to the outside - independent from my dear ex. You reminded me of who I wanted and want to be! Thank you, friend and may the stars always shine bright along your ways!

    Thank you for sharing such a positive experience.
    I am a shy and reserved individual, but the first time I went to and EDM festival on MDMA I found myself easily talking to complete strangers, sharing genuine and heartfelt hugs and exchanges. It's really amazing how it can pull down those barriers, and that was a perspective-shifting experience for me.
    As for actual sex... at the fuller recreational dose, I've found (for myself and others as well) that it also pulls down barriers and opens one up for novel experiences, but even more significant is the interaction it can facilitate between just two people who already are close and comfortable with one another. Being in a safe, private setting with someone you trust allows for the larger dose not to be... handicapping? ...and sharing the experience and intimate headspace with that special person who is on the same wavelength can be the most profoundly moving experience of one's life.
    I'm so thrilled that the medical community is coming to embrace the possibilities, reducing the stigma and - hopefully - propagating harm-reduction approaches that can help avoid negative experiences.

    I take it from his stories, Taylor has had quite a lot of sex as someone young and good looking probably has, but I’ve had to claw my way to every sex encounter, few as they were as to where that’s what’s always been dominant in my life. Sexy people have no idea how easy they’ve had it. I doubt none of them care.

      It's a valid question, and I suspect that, " at anything goes " parties it is expected. But, I'm from a different generation, I used to live in Los Angeles, California and there were parties like that. Or you can look but, it's better to join in. If you know what I mean.
