Today I showcase my reference system room for 2023 and also talk about why each piece is in this system. I hope you enjoy this HiFi room tour! These pieces will be in throughout the winter and into 2023 and all have synergy with each other to make gorgeous music.

I think you have maybe solved the problem of the endless upgrade bug. Buy a bunch of components so that you can switch in/out and mix and match different components whenever you get bored.

Gorgeous looking room and system. Oh yeah, the unexpected 5-figure medical bill - I know that feeling. I am still paying it off today.
Challenging claiming it's THE system for 2023. I cannot even promise how my system will look 2 weeks from now 😆
Not really a challenge. Speakers are set. DAC is set. The amp is going nowhere (just like the pass that’s been here two years now). The only change might be a luxman phono pre but that may not be able to be done in 2023. I’ll have reviews or other amps in but they will not be my own. Have a Michi X3 arriving today for review, it that has to be sent back. The system as you see it here is mine, not review units that come and go. I also have a few other DACs, speakers and amps that I own but they do not sound as good as what’s in now. Therefore, this will be my reference set for 2023. Thanks and have a great day.
@@HiFiHuff you could have bought a pair of active ATC SCM ASL reference studio monitors, for less than you have spent on your overpriced passive system, and gained more sound performance benefits in the process, that you just cannot get with any passive audio system.
@@ianjohnhorwood2605 how do you know it's overpriced? And that the sound quality could be improved.... You haven't heard it!
@@ianjohnhorwood2605 Out of all the active monitors out there ATCs are the last thing I'd recommend to replace a nice passive system.

Your system is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Watching you over the last few years have been so enjoyable as you switch out your pieces. I always look forward to watching your videos. Thanks for sharing. I wish I was your neighbor, would love to come over and have a listen. Wow, again great system.
Fantastic setup. Really interesting speakers... I've actually never heard of them until just now (which is odd, because I've been into audio for nearly 40 years! ). Lux and Pass are among my faves, too. Nice to have the options of owning multiple amps (I do the same, but on a much less costly level). Great vid! (and I love the dedicated room you've made as an extension of your house).
I listened to the LUXMAN L-595A Limited in Rosewood here in Tokyo the other day - a model available only in Japan. The rosewood finish is stunning, definitely an upgrade on the standard silver/black.
but is wood prone to crack, given the constant heat?

Nice! 🙂 As a 'tube-head' myself i can whole hartedly recommend the Emission Labs 300b tubes. Maybe even better then the WE's, according to some fans. I agree lol. Best wishes for the season and wishing for a peaceful&healthy 2023.
Love it! Very similar setup as mine. I have a Luxman 590axii and an AirTight ATM-300 Anniv for that tube magic when needed

How does Luxman L 550AXII (class A) compared to L 595A?
Thats a lovely looking set up.
Honestly with turntables, direct drive turntables are so much better than any belt drive,be it vintage or new.
The Pioneer PL -X1000 is tremendous.
He had a SL-1200G in that he really liked, but just wasn't a fan of the looks. It's a pity since the 1200G is a better table (specs as well) than the Luxman PD-151
In your opinion DD is better than belt drive. This isn't the case though. There are great versions of each type.

You should try oyaide pure silver cables from shopping Japan. Voodo silver cables are also great specially ethernet

I have 2 different amps +different speakers. Difference is the spice of life. And you never get the itch to go get more
I also have the same question on the PS, or any other power conditioning. Have you changed your view on the need? I love my Lux 590ax and just picked up a pair of dynaudio spec 40 which I know that you have enjoyed in the past. I would be curious on ur view of power conditioning. Thanks much
If you love Luxman , try m900 with cl1000 pre , came from pass 160.8
Did you previously have a Cary SLP-05 pre-amplifier? If so, can you compare it to the pre in the Luxman?

Red Dawn is great cable...but, I find moving up in the Nordost line pays dividends. I recall you've had some of their pricier offerings in the past, but now all your gear is different. It's worth a try.

magneplanars need nice power amp not all of them will drive them with authority and finesse at the same time

@@101DV as someone who was in the healthcare business for close to 40 years I can assure you that healthcare in the USA is on average 2X more expensive then other industrialized countries and our quality based on scientific measures is not up to par.......we pay 2X as much and don't get the quality.
@@MyNorthAmetican40 I was writing from a UK perspective (having now worked for the NHS for over 30 years) and seeing people in significant pain waiting over 2 years for the surgery they need (if they survive). I have no experience of the USA system.
