A tour of the German Technology Museum in Berlin, sandwiched between the former Potsdamer, Anhalter & Dresdner Bahnhofen. Featuring cars, planes & trains. The museum even has its own railway, but sadly it wasn't running on the day I went!

I loved that museum when I visited it, some 10 or 11 years ago now. And Sindsheim is fabulous, such a wonderfully eclectic collection. Loved it, and want to go back there.

Hey David. You could be very very very helpful to me if you'd happen to have any photos of the Prussian P4? That's the locomotive that was cut in half, so only the cabin remains. I'm very interested in the cabin interior, need references for a model.

6:50 German paranoia at it's best; the swastika in itself is a dangerous beast that has to be kept behind bars !
And all the Asians go "What the...?"
As if this wasn't embarrassing and infantile enough, they dare to refer to stunts like this as "Vergangenheitsbewaeltigung" (coping with the past)...
    Ridiculous... - that's what it is !
Anyway; nice museum and good video + narration !
    THX, m8 !

I don't see the problem with information placards providing context. The history is there to see, not hidden away, only contextualised.

@@DavidFrankal Who would have a problem with information placards ? Me neither, it's just that they plastered this particular machine in it's very face with bars and information-placards ! As far as I can remember (I've been to this museum, too) the E 19 is the only item on display to feature such a prominent 3rd Reich-insignia (eagle + wreath of oak-leaves + the swastika) - and hence such a "veil of bars and placards. Would you like to see stories about the mystery behind the "making-of" the Mona Lisa - right in the lady's face ? Me neither !
It seems to be of no significance that E 18 and her improved highspeed-sister E 19 have been the first E-locos in Germany to feature a rounded i.e. streamlined cockpit stand.
