To celebrate 20 years of Disney On Broadway, ABC aired “Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years.” The special, hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), gave unprecedented backstage access with the Broadway casts of Disney’s “The Lion King," “Aladdin” and the North American Tour of “Newsies”.
“Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years,” also features music from the Disney on Broadway catalog, including special musical performances from Sir Elton John, Sam Palladio and Clare Bowen (ABC’s “Nashville”), Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”) and Darren Criss (“Glee”).

after watching most of the VoicePlay videos i've come to a conclusion that the 2 guys in the front, the bass and the beatboxer, are freaking insane.

I do feel like this particular vid really, really highlights the incredible range of Layne's beat boxing skills in a special way...? Some of the remarkable sounds he was making here, I had no idea human voice & mouth could do that!! 😮
I had no idea a human could hit that low of note! The harmonies are so tight and focused, and all of singers know their stuff. this is truly impressive.
I really reccomend wearing headphones just to hear Geoff's bass riffs they're so lit, especially at the Arabian nights song

What the hell is that note Geoff Castellucci hits in 'Arabian Nights'? It's doing my head in! Never heard such a pure, full note that deep before.
It's a G1, but probably sung with vocal fry, and lots of editing.
If you really want to be blown away, and hear someone singing that note without any editing and with lots of power, search youtube for "Glenn Miller G1", one of the world's most powerful bass voices. If you want to hear it in context search for "Glenn Miller - Do Not Reject Me in My Old Age". Remember, he is singing in choir setting and without microphones!
Thank you! I checked out Glenn Miller... that's retarded. How can a human even go so low? On that note have you heard of Nic Val? He has a youtube account under his name and I think he has a couple of double low Cs and the likes in there. He's someone to envy if anyone.

Fascinating having just discovered VP and so watching their videos in reverse-chronological order... Over the past 10 years Geoff has matured into a silver fox, Layne had gone from boyband to dad-chic, but I swear Eli hasn't aged more than a couple of hours! 🤪 (Although his goatee of today is super-cool!) Fun to see them with some of their former lineups too, every member every has been so awesome!!

It was chest because i cant here any fry and theres a smooth transition to the note so its not subharmonics and its not to breathy so its not a growl so if its not chest what could it be

I was in a choir clinic where the group voiceplay was teaching us how to do what they do. The low notes is interesting considering how geoff said that we bassists need to breathe in while singing at a very low decimal rate. With a microphone it makes it easier to hit the notes with minimal effort. Still though, Geoff is one of the few people who can pull it off with little effort.

there's a way to say "Fake" the note kind of like falsetto but they call it growl tone. it's not the best for your voice and I can speak to that but if you want to hit it, try

The only thing that would have made this better is if Earl had slid up to the fourth at 2:35 to tie up that chord. This is so good though, I love all of the transitions, they're super smooth! Also, I replayed that bass note at least seven times it was so good sounding!
