The head gasket question is my favorite question to get as well!
I never had the head gasket recall because I have an 18.. It’s been smooth sailing.. This cars been bad ass for me :) all I have done is e30 fuel, intercooler, exhaust, and lightweight wheels. it’s a rocket already. But I’m not gonna lie I probably wouldn’t buy a used one for that exact reason.

Exactly what I just did.
couldn't see john in 8 minutes but I do like the RS in the back. a very hot hatch in my area if you see one it's usually older guys like 30+ because teens can't afford that car lol
i do like them and i like how they sound with an exhaust and oh man are they quick and mean
the HG recall was done on mine before i got it, but the head they replaced it with has too big of a tolerance in the valves and it causes my cylinder 3 to misfire :(

I’d get a civic type r first look at all the road reviews the type r is faster around the track and faster overall. The rs only has it off the line up to 60. After that the type r will catch up and put lengths on the rs. For $10k less and Honda reliability.

Not really, the car feels planted the way it is. My back is fucked but the ride quality never bothered me!
I was ready to pull the trigger and put better riding coils on it, but Ford decided to stop making the car. Golf R it is for me. Currently in stage 2 gti.

Having your car in the shop for 49 days for 1 bolt was not "cool". I would ditch the brand and holy shit you just blew my speakers.
It was about 49 days total. The one bolt was an extra week(ish). And they couldnt assemble it properly without the hardware
Ford can’t sell you the car legally if there is an active recall.

True, but there hasn't been a recall on the RS. Still, Ford, not the government, wouldn't allow dealership to sell those RSs that needed the headgasket work.
