    The Antonov An-225 joined the Flight Simulator platform on February 27, 2023 to mark the one year anniversary of The Battle of Antonov Airport (Battle of Hostomel Airport). The aircraft was destroyed and intentions were announced to re-build the An-225 as a tribute to all the Ukrainian pilots killed during the war. Part 1 identifies the critical components of the flight deck.

    Hey, thanks for the video. I got a question, there's the options item called "Autopilot Altitude Window" on the EFB tablet. There are two values. 1s and 100s. What does it change?
    And question No.2, i'm now flying with Mriya A LOT. And although i'm now somewhat getting used to the odd Autopilot and its nonstandard operation modes, i have yet to learn how to make it follow the ILS glideslopes.
    I'm now somewhere in the first half of around-the-planet trip in Mriya. I started in Prague, went north, visited regions beyond polar circle, and then went westwards through Iceland, Greenland and Canada. Right now i'm at KGCN.
    I'm not having issues with getting Mriya to follow the localizer, but during all of the flight legs i've done with this plane, the ONLY airport where it actually followed the glideslope was at Svalbard seed vault airport.
    Of all the various airports i visited, this was the only one. And, although it DID start following the glideslope, it started doing it very late, even though i was going straight towards the rwy, at the correct altitude etc...
    The CPT LAND button is always ON, the overhead panel navigation mode knob is set to ILS, the correct ILS is also indicated at the AIS display (the overhead panel display that shows waypoints during the flight in ROUTE mode), but it only actually followed the GS that one time. The mysterious Svalbard landing. If i'm gonna find out that i actually did record it, i'm gonna upload the video.
    The problem is, that i'm doing it the same way every single time.
    The localizer frequency is dialed in, the plane is in landing config, full flaps, gear out, the reverser lever is up, speedbrake armed, proper altitude and speed, but when Mriya intercepts the localizer and i hit the VRTCL button, which should start the vertical navigation, it almost never does. It just stays at the altitude. It only followed the GS at Svalbard, and i don't recall doing anything differently.
    Does anyone have any idea what i might be doing wrong? Is it just one of the Mriya's quirks? The manual says that it should be able to automatically follow the GS, i've seen people doing it in videos, and i managed to do it myself as well, although only in that one case...
    Tips are very welcome.

    Great video! Do you know if the steering switch on capt left lighting panel is what makes the main wheels take tight turns like shown in the initial trailer? Have not figured this out

      Thanks! As far as I can tell, only the nose wheels are activated by either switch. Switching on either the left or right controls both sets. Haven't found any control for the mains. Cheers!

    I noticed something about the instruments that Inibuilds implemented.
    They do NOT reflect the layout at the time of destruction. Here is a video with an in depth tour that was made about half a year before the real thing was bombed.
    You'll notice that the real aircraft had the metric altimeter replaced with a new one that is now imperial and has english instead of russian readouts. And where the Inibuilds standby Imperial Altimeter is in the sim, there is actually nothing in the real aircraft.

      Thanks for commenting and thank you for the video link. Yes, good eye on the differences! Other subtle differences too. The glass on the gauges is also very clear and sharp. In the sim, the gauge glass has an older/fogged look. It is fun to fly! Blue skies!

    "Left landing light", "Right landing light"... Not really... (;

      Hi and thanks for watching. Yes, I skimmed over the lighting panel very quickly when putting this video together. There are set positions for each lever and I forget to go back to identify the functions exactly. If you can comment here, I will make a note in the description and reference your clarification.
