1930s Black Chicago: Southside Policy Kings

  • In the 1930s, the black policy syndicate of Southside Chicago was at its peak. Because of the Great Depression, the people in the ghetto of the Southside were desperate. They saw the policy wheels, and gambling in general, as their ticket out of poverty.
The Southside bosses of this era amassed wealth never seen in earlier years of the racket. Characters like: the Jones Brothers (Edward, George, and McKissack), Julian Black, John Roxborough, and some of the old bosses, all took part in the 25 million dollar a year syndicate. Their investments and business ventures made them some of the richest Black men in the country.

After moving here and being here in Chicago west side. Chicago history especially black history is unmatched and underrated.
    1) Black Panther Party extended head quarters (I know BPP started in Oakland) on the west side building burned down because of the riots back in the day now it’s a Walgreens.
    2) Fred Hampton house is still up so you can see it from the outside where they murdered him.
    3) Martin Luther king jr house when he lived here for 2 years. It’s now turned into apartments on the west side is still up.
    4) Chicago was founded and started by a Haitian man Dusable small statue of him downtown Chicago but very disrespectful knowing that he founded Chicago he is placed in Chicago as a small figure compared to other statues.
I can go on Chicago unmatched frfr. God bless y’all.

Chicago was one of the last cities to become crack-infested due to the agreement amongst the gang leaders Jeff Ford ( EL RUKNS/BPN) and Larry Hoover( GDs). They agreed not to sell crack in the black community. Then the FBI / CIA took down the FORT( Jeff Ford) and then started on the GD's high-ranking generals. Within a few years, you could see the drugs starting to hit the streets and destroyed our community here.

I'm from Philadelphia and lived in Chicago for 5 years. I lived on the North side and worked in downtown Chicago. You would never have thought of Chicago as a mob city if you didn't research Chicago's history. Downtown Chicago is conservative throughout. I found Philadelphia more culturally sociable than Chicago. The lakefront in Chicago is beautiful. But the thing about Chicago is that it's very Segregated.
Again you would never think Chicago had such a thug history by the way parts of it looks today.

    • @smelltheglove2038
      @smelltheglove2038 Год назад +1

Conservative? It’s been a democrat stronghold for a century. I live in south Philly, just south of Oregon ave. I don’t understand what you mean by culturally sociable. It’s an extremely segregated city. The only real mixing is suburban drug addicts buying fentanyl in Kensington. Chicago is well known for being the most corrupt city in the country and it has been for a century now.

I lived in Chicago for 5 years and it's not a rough looking city as New York City looks in a lot of it's parts. I lived in New York City for 7 years and it's a rough, tough city. I didn't find this in Chicago. But time can change a city. I think Chicago was much more of a thug city in the 1920s and 1930s. Historians say Al Capone had shootouts with other rival gangs on the North side of Chicago. I lived on the North side of Chicago and just couldn't imagine shootouts in that part of town which is very nice. But it happened and in that time era of the 1920s and 30s Chicago was tough back then.

What people don't realize is that Chicago was different in the 1920s and 30s. It was a very violent city and mob wars were normal back then. Al Capone was asked by the current boss to come out to Chicago to help him. And when that boss got shot multiple times he said " that's it I'm done". And Al Capone inherited that family as the new boss and you know what AL did.

Even MORE SO that integration it was>>>>> FEMINISM! Black women are the MAIN culprits in regards to why were not unified as a people facts. How can you unify a community of people if you can't even unify the general Black family, household i.e BM, BW, blk children etc.
When the Black HOUSEHOLD WAS DESTROYED via feminism, i.e the relationship between BM & BW we have NEVER been the same since facts. & that's the REAL REASON. Black women SOLD BM, & their BLK CHILDREN out for SLEFISH INDIVIDUALISTIC GAINS POLITICALLY.
They are now EFFECTIVELY the ENEMY FROM WITHIN facts on God, & God spoke of this in the Bible in the "last of days"! You can't, & won't EVER galvanize a community when the WOMEN of said community is WORKING FOR THE ENEMIES & is more committed to serving the enemies principality whilst erroneously claiming her undying love, loyalty, & allegiance to BM, Blk children, i.e the blk community facts!
When you truly BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE BETTER than ur own Men & children & are some how on a DIFFERENT LEVEL of perception than the community that spawned you, the nur in REAL TROUBLE!
Just like the late great Godfather Kevin Samuels quoted & said that "NOTHING has done more damage in regards to the Black community & Black Men's/Black women's relation more so than FEMINISM. FEMINISM HAS DONE WHAT NOT INTEGRATION, JIM CROW, SLAVERY, SYSTEMIC OPPRESSION, CRACK EPIDEMIC etc all could NOT do all put together & that is TRICK Black women into believing that they are some how>> BETTER than their OWN people, i.e Men & children bkz they have a stupid DEGREE, & or are making 6 FIGURE salary's"!
We as a people have SURVIVED ALL THE AFOREMENTIONED & some how found a way to STICK TOGETHER! But every since BW start following the FEMINISM IDIOLOGS the black community & It's Men & children have SUFFERED MORE DEVISTATION the CENTRAL element that has allowed us to survive through MUCH WORST MOVEMENTS & TIMES than FEMINISM at face value bkz those movements were TRUE DESIGNS intended on our complete & utter DESTRUCTION!
But NONE of those movements have been as EFFECTIVE IN BREAKING UP THE LOVE< BOND, TRUST, & SUPORTING of one another such as that of FEMINISM! & it worked bkz it plays into AmeriKKKa Black women's VICTIMHOOD COMPLEX in which they thrive, breed, breath & live on facts! Telling them that THEY are the ULTIMATE VICTIMS & the cause of your OPPRESSION & POOR SOCIAL STANDINGS IS ALL DUE TO BLACK MEN!
Not SLAVERY, NOT JIM CROW, NOT THE GOVERNMENT, NOT WHITE PEOPLE but BLACK MEN has caused ALL their oppressions & states of INDIGENCE< POVERTY! How about THAT for why we are no longer UNIFIED as a people??
You can't unify a people when the WOMEN WANT, & BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE THEIR OWN COMMUNITY MINUS BLACK MEN! & bkz their are NO MEN TO LEAD THEM for apparent reason,????? that causes for the CHILDREN of current, present, & FUTURE to SUFFER greatly.
BW think, & believe that THEY ARE TRULY BETTER LEADERS, STRONGER THAN BLK MEN, SMARTER THAN BM, more CAPABLE than BM etc.
