  • A photo of a young man helping an 83-year-old down an escalator is warming hearts across the country. The elderly man was frozen with fear as he stood atop an escalator at the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke, Mass. That's when 23-year-old Alonzo Johnson stepped in, locking arms with the senior citizen and helping him down the escalator. The older man was terrified to get on because of a previous frightening experience he once had on an escalator, according to Johnson. #InsideEdition

I wanted her to come back up for me and pick me up and put me on the escalator because I was afraid of going on it but she never did that. +Fluffy Fox That young man also showed the elderly man that he matters, which is a good thing. You may not appreciate it, but I for sure do.

My grandparents fell off an escalator once. My grandpa lost his balance and since my grandma was holding on to him she was pulled down. Thankfully they weren’t badly injured.
