I agree the wood is so beautiful and didn’t want to see it painted over actually
More to come in the future, we love painting furniture over here! Thanks for watching.
I'm with you - Art Deco pieces in such good condition should never be painted.
It’s a beautiful piece, but this was one of few times that it broke my heart to see it painted. The wood was beautiful. I really love your style of revamping.
True that!!!!! As talented as she is, this would of been one piece of furniture that I wld of not touched with paint.
Really? I thought it was ugly until she worked her talent on it.
I completely agree. The artist is great but this old piece was gorgeous!
I thought the same 😕 I only paint old tatty pieces. The wood was lovely on this.
Agree. To find a waterfall dresser in such good condition is rare. I would have left this one as is. But it did inspire me for a similar piece I have that is in horrible condition .
The original was absolutely beautiful! That you found an original that was in such great shape is fantastic! Don’t paint it. You can paint furniture that needs it. I’m all for painting furniture if it needs it but this did not.
That being said, your work is gorgeous and this piece is beautiful.
"Pave paradise, put up a parking lot"
I agree. It's wonderful to see a piece of furniture given a new life but this piece, over 60 years old, was still very much in its glory, now it's gone.
It was a beautiful piece, the veneer was in great condition, the Bakelite handles were gorgeous in their original condition. I’m with you, there are pieces that benefit from being painted, but I won’t touch antique or vintage American made pieces, like MCM. Too many good trees were used in making those pieces and they deserve to shine. I will say, it’s beautiful the way she did the painting, and it would have been lovely is she had done it on a piece that wasn’t a piece of history.
This is a place where we paint furniture and I love it! There’s plenty of these rolling around if you’d ever want one without paint, it’s available!
@@KachaFurniture I wish !! They are very hard to find where I live.
I love your work. You always inspire me. It is so hard where I live to find an old waterfall dresser in that pristine shape that I was sad to see it changed. Maine is a long way from Arkansas to go to find furniture.
I'm usually CRAZY about your work, but this BEAUTIFUL "Art Deco" Dresser needed NOTHING!!!! The hardware alone was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, and the Inlay Wood was so LOVELY!!!! Just made me sad!!!!
I’m sorry this makes you sad. This is what I do and there will be more like this in the future, I look for pieces in really good shape now. Thanks for watching! ❤️
@@KachaFurniture This world is full of conflicting opinions, just do what you do and enjoy yourself. If it's so beautiful as is, how come someone didn't grab it up before you. LOVE your work, you are the best!
The original looks very art deco, many people collect that furniture. It was so beautiful I don't think I could have painted it.
Beautiful transformation! It’s like the transfer was designed just for this piece. I was a little sad at first to see the wood painted as I do love waterfall pieces and this one in such good shape. Seeing it now, it was definitely a great choice. 😉👍
I love painted furniture, but this was perfect as it was :)
This is beautiful and elegant. I am in love with the transfer, especially against the whitewashed drawers! I was really struggling with this piece being painted, until the very end when I saw the Before and After. After is better! It has all the beautiful lines of a 1920s Art Deco piece but with an update that makes it perfect for the 2020s. And I love the original handles being gold!🌸
so sad to see that rare grain covered up, even tho the result is very attractive
So excited to see you do a vintage waterfall style dresser 💚
Wow... Kacha what a transformation. I am always amazed and love watching you create and make things beautiful. Love it!
I love this piece and i really think that what a lot of people on here don't realise is that nice looking, well made furniture has been redone since the 1800s! If someone has a house that has a lot of art deco furniture then fine, you enjoy it that way and i love art deco and am in the middle of using elements of it in my home, but, that piece painted is STILL art deco but brought into the 21st century. Not everything needs to be left in it's original state. I'm just thankful that Kacha is the person that rescued it and not somebody that really didn't understand what it needed. Beautiful as always Kacha. Shirley from the UK.
I've been watching videos like this for a year now you're the only one that talks us through it and explains to us what we need to do I appreciate this more than you will ever know thank you for talking in your videos explaining what to do ✌️❤️🤟🏼
New look , new life……just beautiful!
Kacha it’s gorgeous it’s 2022 and this piece to me became alive again. The wood was in good shape but it’s stunning now. Those of you that gave constructive criticism. Kudos. Those that just felt like critiquing in a bad mode. Wake up like I said 2022!!!! Love Annie Sloan color and paint. Let’s also be real Prima Designs is what’s in. Love you all!!!
I really like the way you kept the obvious wood grain coming through, sometimes I'm heartbroken to see it covered up, but this is gorgeous! ☮❤🇨🇦🙋♀️
Excellent job! Probably one of the best jobs I've seen modernizing a waterfall piece. Loved the wash. The paint will protect the veneer from drying out and chipping, which is what happens to most of these mass produced pieces. Was really surprised the bakealite-the plastic pieces-took the wax looked great. Again great job.
Oh my goodness, this makeover is priceless and so stunning.I absolutely adore it.🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Beautiful turned out! Young woman, you are the best in designing! Thankful u share ur ideas!
So this will forever be my super favorite! Stunning!💖💖💖
So pretty! Thanks for trying out the new paint for all of us to see!
Simply gorgeous piece Katja! I absolutely love it! The transfer really enhanced the finished product.
I love antiques but this is an example of a beautiful vision! Just gorgeous!!
Wow it's so elegant and pretty! I love the transfer too. Thank you for reviewing this paint! I am excited to try it!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow beautiful, love the neutral colors and gold together.
Threatening! Amazingly beautiful! You used my favorite transfer! Thanks so much for sharing.
Very beautiful 😍 I did like the rose color plastic part of the handles. The transfer looks amazing 👏 ❣
Thanks for sharing ❣
I LOVE your vision for this beautiful piece😍
It's a piece that looked beautiful in the past and yet I love the new look also. So it's a win either way.
So beautiful! Thank you for saving this piece so it can be enjoyed and appreciated. Even though it was beautiful beforehand it would not have been appreciated. We had lots of beautiful antique pieces from a house we sold but no one wanted them. We even tried to give them away. We ending up donating them.
Stunning piece of furniture. Beautiful creation. Love your style.
Love this! You picked up the transfer and I was saying “no, no please don’t do that”. But……You’ve done it again! I love it!
✌🏻❤️
❤️ I love what you have done with this piece! You have transformed this outdated dark waterfall piece to a two toned beauty! I absolutely love the mix of paint and wood to bring the lines of this piece into focus! And the stencil and hardware choices bring it all together! Thank you ❣️
what great bones the dresser had; then you made it super perfect. Love the color and the transfer you used. Amazing furniture artist!
Thank you for trying new things for the first time with us watching. Most gracious of you.The trial-and error- process with the whitewash and wiping back, with respect to the grain--So much more instructional than just seeing the perfect end result. Thanks, again!
GORGEOUS!!! I think that is my favorite piece you have done!
I get a little torn with antique pieces and think they should be restored as it’s a piece of history …. Kinda like a 57 Chevy or things that were made before plastics and fiberglass were introduced .
You did a beautiful job on it. With that said, chalk paint, transfers and waxes have become so popular that I think it is going to be harder to find antiques restored back to their original beauty. People like little prep work and restoring back to original is usually labor intensive. Merely my own opinion, but ‘true’ antiques will probably be worth a fortune if its not messed with.
Waterfall pieces and similar items were mass produced and made out of veneers and plywood. Though pretty they will probably never reach true high end antique status because the veneers and glues dry out and chip or fall apart. What gives an antique value is its staying power, solid hardwoods usually. These pieces were the equivalent to Ikea furniture today. Painting these pieces protects them from drying out.
Absolutely not. There’s plenty of restored pieces and channels out there. The problem is the market, people aren’t looking for old original furniture!
Kasha~
I just wanted you to know that my comment wasn’t made to be offensive in anyway! Love watching your flips.
I love both antiques and chalk painted furniture. A true antique is an item perceived as having value because of its aesthetic or historical significance, and often defined as at least 100 years old or some other limit, although the term is used loosely.
I loved this piece both ways, painted without the transfer and with the transfer. I saw so many opinions over this piece. It just shows you do great work if so many people are discussing your creativity. It looks fresh and that was the whole point 👏🏻
Came out beautiful. Love the subdued colors. Great job.
I love this updated piece. The transfer is gorgeous
This piece is really special, a blend of your art with the wood grain showing through
It turned out so lovely! I love the combination of the paint, wood grain and flowers.
Beautiful as always ! Love the transfer on this one! ❤️🌺
Love love this piece. Thank you, Valerie
Oh, when you were going to put the transfer on I cringed, but oh my goodness how great it looks! I am sad that you put gold over the original Bakelite portion of the handles. Overall the dresser looks beautiful!
I felt the same way! I love Backelit3 & it’s hard to find nowadays.
I know a lot of people don’t like to see vintage wood painted, but I honestly think it looks so much better than that orange/ yellow wood. Absolutely beautiful
She could have neutralized the wood with a toner. She ruined a classic piece
Gorgeous!! So happy to see any Sloan’s new satin paint. Thanks for sharing your use of it and your suggestions.
Thank you for sharing the paintable silicone!!!! I have gaps on a current piece and like a dummy I kept adding paint because I had no idea what to do and didn’t want to go and add extra wood filler after I had already laid on my coats of primer.
I love waterfall furniture. This piece turned out amazing. I love the color, the wash, the transfer, and of course the transfer. What an elegant piece. Thanks Kacha for another great video and showing us Annie Sloan's new paint.
Such a weird coincidence that I saw an IG reel today about a better way to apply caulk. The guy said that instead of pulling down or toward you, where the bead of caulk can separate or pull up from the crack you're trying to fill, you should start at the closest point and push the tip away from you, which effectively pushes the caulk into the crack. It makes so much sense!
I will definitely try that!
This might be my all time favorite piece by you! Always amazed and can’t wait for more videos!
So beautiful, amazing work. I love everything about it. ❤️❤️
Better and better all the time! Well done! I always inspired!
At the begining I had my doubts about painting that piece, was beautiful but when I have seen the after result, omg, what a beauty!!! The transfer is gorgeous. 💖💖💖
Stunning! I been using foam rolling on cabinets and furniture for years..I always get a good smooth hard finish. 👍
Gorgeous! I love the cream and the cream wash! Great up cycled❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! Very beautiful. I LOVE it!! 💕💕💕
I was not sure how I felt about it being painted, but it is so lovely completed, I am totally on board! It is exquisite!!
SO Beautiful !!! It’s stunning!!! Such talent 💕
So beautiful ❤️ You've done again something so classy ❤️
Seriously - everything you touch turns to magic 🌸
Wowee! Wouldn’t have the patients to wait 21 days but that finish is totally gorgeous! The transfer is the best too!
Kasha puts the glam into painting furniture everything unique different my favorites are the vanities and dry brushing projects and don't forget to add some gold at the end LOL
Absolutely beautiful!
Gorgeous piece, however, I would not have painted it. It's beautiful just the way it was. Other than that, I love watching her. So creative.
Kacha absolutely gorgeous! I love the paints & transfer. You did this piece justice!!! Just gorgeous!!! I love it! ❤
That dresser has a whole new look...very nice.
Always unveiling lovely pieces.
Transfer gives it an organic look. Beautiful job!!
This has to be one of my favorites you’ve done! Love this ❤️
This is one piece I wouldn't paint. Just a good cleaning is all it needs. Other than that, I LOVE Kacha's projects and how beautiful they come out. Such talent!!!!
I love this piece - especially the color - and the transfer complements the dresser beautifully
At first I thought oh don’t paint that beautiful piece but after you were done I thought oh wow! Now it is more beautiful.
Food for thought. A better and easier way to fill gaps like you did in this video and to fill nail holes in walls etc. is to put your filling/caulking in a pastry bag and use a small round tip. You will be able to fill the gaps and holes from the inside out...... complete fill and coverage. I use this all the time as I didn't like the results of doing it the old way.. shrinking when it dries and sanding over bumps.
Great idea ! Thanks.
You never cease to amaze me Kacha! It is absolutely gorgeous!
😍💖 You are so inspiring.
It turned out beautiful. Love it!
So next level. You make everything outstanding. Excellent job ❤️
I must admit I was very disappointed about the idea of painting that beautiful natural colored wood but IT. IS. STUNNING! Absolutely gorgeous and it is so satisfying to watch you transform it. Thank you, Kacha!
You got that right ❤️ Simple and Elegant
Another masterpiece á la Kasha 🔔❤️🔔
This stunning Kacha! You are forever a source of inspiration
This is the most BEAUTIFUL piece I have ever seen... I love it... Well done!!!!!!!🤍🤍🤍🤍
Kacha, this dresser came out just beautiful. Blessings 🙏👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
I think this is my most favorite piece you’ve ever done! Absolutely beautiful 😍
Beautiful, thank you for sharing, stay safe and have a blessed day.
Absolutely love it. So sophisticated.👏👏👏👏🎈
Best waterfall transformation that I have seen
I've probably watched all your videos and I think this is my favorite makeover so far ❤
Delicate but stunning piece, love it 🥰
VERY APPEALING COLORS FOR THE EYE!! Another fantastic job.
This piece is beautiful as it is.. I love this era.....I'd like to see you restore pieces like this to its original beauty
THIS is my favorite in a while! Thank you. I love everything about this dresser.
SO Lovely! My new favorite! Love the simplicity!!
Beautiful! That finish looks sprayed. 👌 your color and transfer go very nicely on that piece.
This one hurt my heart! Such a beautiful piece before the paint. Someone loved and took care of this piece! I love painted furniture but, sometimes a piece should just be left alone.
Stunning!. You do you. Because there's people like me who would prefer this over the original 💜
Just beautiful, Kacha!
That is so pretty! I love it.
Beautiful job, love the combo of wood and paint and the transfer is absolutely perfect!
There are always those with strong opinions about leaving furniture unpainted or not. The thing is, furniture is meant to be used and loved. If remaining in its original appearance is what brings happiness to its owner, it should remain so. If a piece can enrich someone’s life and living space by having a makeover, then it is serving its purpose by bringing joy to its owner. Paint is not a forever thing. It can be stripped off and restored to its original appearance if that is what the next owner finds appealing. Look at paint as makeup. It can be applied or it can be removed. It all depends on who has the face. This piece became something totally different under Kacha’s artistic touch. It took on a totally different vibe. I loved the end result and it will beautify whatever forever home that it finds. Kacha inspires me to try new things, to see different perspectives, and to design without fear.
That is a beautiful makeover! The transfer is the piece de resistance!
I appreciate the original wood piece; but I really LOVE your modernized version! I just love the light, elegant lady she became. Like a great facelift 😁❤
I love this chest of drawers....I was really thinking omg she is painting an art deco piece of furniture but now that I have seen the finished article its beautiful! Great Job Kacha! Still loving your dog! xx
I love it! I'm in love with this style of furniture and I just acquired a vanity and matching dresser in great shape but not perfect so have to paint in some places and was still trying to figure out how to incorporate that beautiful veneer so I don't have to cover all of it. I loved the wash u did. Just beautiful!
