  • Paul Bavousette was born in Oklahoma City in 1930. In 1948 he graduated from high school, joined the Reserves, and entered the University of Oklahoma. Two years into his college education, his Marine Reserves unit was called into action. As a member of the Twentieth Infantry Battalion, he left Oklahoma City in August 1950 to travel to Camp Pendleton to begin serving in the Korean War.
