You guys make that look so easy... I was pulling on the housing so hard it ended up cracking the outside plastic, and still never got it to pop off.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. You may have to use a plastic pry tool to start then it should come out.

This may be a silly question, but what size is that brake light bulb? I'm about to replace mine, and I have never had such a hard time trying to get a definitive answer, by seaching the internet, on what type of bulb the brake light bulb is.

      The package says this: Plug and Play: Non-polarity design, directly fit for 992, 7440, 7441, 7443, 7442, 7444, W21W, WY21W, etc socket

@TheGobstopper thanks, that helps a lot. I found a few sites with the bulb sizes but they have conflicting information so I don't know which one is correct. Surprised I couldn't find a forum with the Rouge's entire bulb replacement list.

Can't touch the lights with bare fingers because oil residue from your skin is left on the bulb. Those particular spots with "oil" will get hotter than the rest of the glass and cause the assembly to deteriorate faster. Thermodynamics !!!

That is super interesting and makes a lot of sense.

@@TheGobstopperI think that's true for incandescents and especially halogens given how hot they get. However, LEDs don't put out anywhere near as much heat. For that reason, I would expect that it's not a big issue (perhaps not an issue at all) for them.

What if the light housing is stuck? Feels glued (2016 model)

I could be wrong but i am not aware of any models using glue from the factory, double check and make sure all the bolts are removed

@ashleysrae if you have all the bolts removed, it could possibly be road gunk has worked its way in the crevices and making it hard to come out easily. What I would do is hit the housing (lightly, not hard enough to break it, but firm enough to break the gunk seal) all around the edges to try to break loose the grip, I would then try to wiggle it and pull firmly. If that doesn’t loosen it after a few times, maybe try to work a plastic pry tool into the gap and go all the way around the light housing to break it free.
