Whoever made the design for Hexxus's final form put all their effort in. A blackened skeleton, with fire burning inside, with a cape of sludge. That's A level work.

0:00 Hexxus for those who have not watched ferngully, is a being that feeds on pollution. After shutting down the machine, the fairy’s thought they had starved Hexxus to death but what actually happened was that instead of feeding more pollution he became self sufficient with pollution, like a tornado of fire.

like there is not like a billion natural things out there that can kill you.
I get the whole 'stop pollution and safe nature' stuff but I really hat how rainforest and stuff are portrait as being a lush, green happy and safe place when in fact everything in nature is trying to kill you, like all the time

@@aurumvale9908 Yes, everything in nature is about killing each other. Even plants kill other plants. But it's done equally, it balances out thanks to evolution. Human beings don't. We can create great machines to help us destroy things. Instead of hard labour swinging an axe at a tree for 20 minutes, a chainsaw can cut it down in 20 seconds. We are intelligent beings and are destroying our planet, making it inhospitable for us. We should know better, and should act different.

@@princesssunnyshine1757 yeah I did and I enjoyed it. I also got the secondary point of that episode where ppl spout their opinions without actually giving them a real thought. and you hippies all pretending like nature is not about killing us whenever it has the chance is not only dumb but outright retarded.
again, I agree killing of nature so long as we can not substitute it with technology is bad, but also humans have absolute priority in the long run.
earth's gonna get down sooner or later. giant asteroid splitting the planet or the sun getting a red giant. it WILL happen!
Humans ARE special, cause we are the ONLY truly sentient species on this ball of mud.
get that into your head! the only, in all of history!
no dolphins, no elephants, no lions, no wales ever developed a culture beyond "oh i eat, i sex, i again"
and if humans ever die out there might never be another species achieving sentience.
humans are earths and all of natures best chance to actually survive in the long run.
so yeah, i say protect the rainforest but also do whatever is necessary to ensure human survival!
and dont even pretend like nature gives a flying fuck about some species going extinct, that happend also long before human, civilization and pollution even existed.
or do you think birds care even the slightest about dinosaurs or the other species that got lost during each of the big catastrophes that changed life on earth?

Hexxus is supposed to be the spirit of destruction, decay, and death, kind of like the grim reaper. He's the balancing half of the creation aspect of nature represented by the fairies. Him being made of pollution might seem a little corny until you realize that the fossil fuels that he feeds off of and is composed of is actually the remains of dead animals and plants. He is literally made of death.

And it's also weird that if the Poles are melting, why is much of South America still above sea level? If you go to any map, you see that they are the closest to Antarctica. How is it that on this planet so limited STILL Antarctica did not melt and began to sink the coasts?

Got to love the symbolism of the strangler fig overgrowing the leveler and Hexxus. No matter how much we screw it up, the natural world will return even after we destroy ourselves. I'd also like to add that this indeed destroys Hexxus. While not directly shown, he is quite literally strangled to death. And as Cryata points out, he can no longer return. Hexxus is a spirit however, and like all spirits they can live on in other ways. Kind of unnerving to think what Hexxus could do if he made it to our world. All that pollution to feed on would make him terrifying.

    • @arl3163
      @arl3163 3 года назад +9

I believe that the first animator was French animator Émile Cohl with the animated film: ‘Fantasmagorie’ in 1908. (It could be argued that British animator J. Stuart Blackton also could’ve made the first ever animation in 1906) Émile Cohl is also credited with having the first 2D animated film SHOWN in Japan called: ‘Les Exploits de Feu Follet’ in 1912. ANIME hadn’t started until 1916 with Astroboy by Shimokawa Oten.
It’s more like Eastern Asia (Japan in this case) has their own version of Western (American/European) animation.
HOWEVER, I do believe if America had stuck with 2D animation we’d have beautiful 2D films that could match Japan’s amazing skills.
      Cheers!
