Frank, my wallet hates you. I mean, I was still deciding whether or not to buy the game but your video convinced me. It's like when designing this game they looked at three of my favorites (The Isle of Cats, Fire in the Library and Calico), took the best elements from each, and voilà! Same universe as The Isle of Cats but simplified in both setup and gameplay, fire triggering mechanic which adds for playing more strategically and gives you a "visual timer", and the campaign/scenarios idea sounds really exciting for great replayability. I just can't wait for it to arrive! :D
Hi Tanner, When you move a cat, it can move across connected squares of its own colour, moving left and right, up and down, but not diagonally. The "draw a line" comment is a way of trying to picture it, if you could draw a line across the squares moving just horizontally and vertically without touching another colour, then that is a valid path you can travel. I hope this helps!
Are the scenario books (more specifically the score sheets) available as a pdf? I could photocopy the sheet, so long as it's standard size. Just thinking longevity amongst all the family members playing it, over time. Regards, Marc
@@CityofGamesHQ So if I get into situations where all cats are exhausted and I have 1 card in my hand. I need to put it somewhere on the board and then place a fire. I will not be able to discard it right? Just double checking :-)
Hey Rob, that is correct, you have to play them all. This does mean you may be forced to play a pathway card onto the island that you don't want to play, and you may want to keep this in mind while planning who should play when!
@@CityofGamesHQ Sounds like you’ll need pictures of players cats walking on the fire tiles to show some paw-lidarity with the islands poor inhabitants.
I'm sorry to hear that Tah, it makes Race to the Raft a fantastic game but if it isn't a mechanism you enjoy then I'm glad you found out now rather than after you purchased it :)
I love this game. Isle of cats too!
I am very glad to hear it!
That sounds great. I love the cats and the labyrinth / path creating looks really good.
I'm glad to hear it, and as you play through you'll discover many more interesting twists!
This looks awesome, Frank! And I love that the decks are PlayStation-compatible :)
Thanks Agent Cheddar - It's funny how testing shapes resulted in those 4 being best, it's as if PS also did some user testing!
Absolutely love Isle of Cats! Very excited to get this one! 🙌 👏
Thank you Timothy - I'm glad you've been enjoying The Isle of Cats and can't wait to get Race to the Raft to you soon!
Fantastic job on this video!
Thank you!

I'm really glad to hear it Sebastian, I hope you get a chance to enjoy the game soon!
What does the rule you mist be able to draw a line from start to finish using its favoured type.

Great stuff!
Thank you Sebastian!

Hey Marc, a PDF version of the campaign book will be available when the game releases. I hope that helps!
Sprawlopolis layering mechanism with muti-use cards to get rid of useless cards? Yes please!
Using unwanted cards to move cats feels soooo good!
Can I discard a card, without doing any action? Without moving a cat?
You can't, each card must be used for either placing on the island or moving a cat.

@@defaultlmk9290 That is correct, and if you can't place the card, then you'll lose. So, you'll want to account for this in your planning.
Just to confirm. You have play all 3 of your cards each round, you can't save onto any?

Is Lord Vesh responsible for the fires?
Unfortunately yes! Vesh's armies have arrived and are responsible for all the bad that will be happening during the game.

I hate the 'can only say this and not that' mechanic of games.. that alone puts me off

I actually agree with you, this makes the game more frustrating and kinda awkward in a way, I believe all games should be of communication and vocal
