Hi fella looks good i notived the amp power cable the way youve run it theres a better way and safer route then that theres a rubber bung were the loom comes through behind the nearside suspention top
I'm bout to buy an ST220 and just wanted to know what dimensions the speakers are and of wich quality. And looking at those they will definitely get changed to a more beefy setup. Also looking at that wire diameter I'd just put some new wires with a higher diameter in there, wich is not that big of a pain in the ass and I'd not have to worry about starting a fire in the car when putting an external amp in with like 150W/channel. Then you leave the original wires in and you won't have problems like you said when reselling the car and wanting to keep the nice set of speakers for yaself. Also imma first look if the ST220 doesn't have a factory-upgraded speakerset that I could keep to go along with a more powerfull amp then the Headunitpower.
Hi mate, i know this is a bit necro posting but do you know if these speakers word alright with the standard ford headunit? I have the stupid ford denso sat nav systems and all I really want to fix is the crappy vocals on the standard speakers. removing the denso sat nav is a nightmare, i'm hoping they work without an amp.
Should be alright if the new speakers are a bit more beefy then the old ones. You got to look out for the impedance. Should be writen on the back of the magnet of the old ones. The new speakers should not be below that. Also to fix the vocals get some rather cheap tweeters that you can maybe install on your dashboard along with a cheap crossover like the Monacor DN-1. If you get this Crossovers you have to take a set of mainspeakers with an impedance of 8 Ohms. Most likely your headunit won't have a problem with 8 Ohms. If your old speakers where at 4 Ohms you might get a little bit less max. power output on the new ones. But often that's not even noticable till you crank up to full power.
