The show was pretty shit compared to the books. They dumbed down a lot and cut out pretty much all the big space battles, the entire first earth mars war, the year they spend as mercenaries, and turned the protomolcule into boring blue goo. In the books, it was like John carpenter's the thing.
@@TheMeepster72 To be fair they had to cram books of info into a more easily digestible film format. Plus they gave some characters in the show much better treatment then in the books. (Cortyar, Larson)
I thought that the synchronization of the music and the radio chatter near stage seperation was really cool! Definitely adds a lot of, as you said, epicness to the flight test. Nice connection.
Humankind is beautiful, Despite the wars, the hatred, the racism, these and many other things are worth continuing to fight for, humanity is incredible, and must continue to move forward.
if only everyone cared more about the future than our present hate and greed against ourselves and own species (war on ourselves) i think of that one family guy skit where stewie and brian go to an alternate world without christianity hence no dark age(medieval times holding us bak) so instead 800-1000 years of human development from roman era. dont get me wrong religious values are nice and comforting but too look out into the stars and to conquer the final frontier, the true unknown and gain that power. we shall become the gods then we shall bend reality to suit our will

Christianity spurred a number of the scientific advances, the "dark ages" (not really dark), were mostly due to the collapse of the Roman Empire which was going downhill since Augustus tbh. The foundation of science is an intelligible world which is an assumption we in our modern era have due to Christianity and other religions (like Islam) who think the world is ordered by an intelligence (God). Who we are today is due to the thoughts and views that people had in the past. The assumptions we take for granted were carefully worked out by past thinkers. You should read the Wikipedia article on "Christianity and Science", I think you might find it enlightening. Additionally, Islam has had a major impact on the sciences and development of knowledge. Again, due to the assumption that the world was intelligible (ie. governed by laws, and laws established by a lawgiver, in modernity we have the notion of laws without the foundation of the law giver, but the medievals did the work to get us there philosophically). The Romans were not particularly developed in a true sense. They certainly had much practical knowledge but they were more engineering minded. They mastered practical applications of known things but they lacked the medieval and modern framework of nature to properly discover new ideas. Cheers :)!
The science fiction future we were promised is finally here.
Its only the beggining.
Not quite, but we're definitely close.
Born....JUST IN TIME to see the stars. Long Live Mankind
I will never forgive amazon for stopping Expanse in favor of their shit tier rings of power. And one day I will have my revenge.
Musk owns loser Bezos anyway.

@@TheMeepster72 Not perfect, but still the best SF series in years. I refuse to watch NewTrek or any recent Star Wars crap.

I wish they had an MCRN Elon Musk.

First the solar system and then onto others!
Today the solar system, tomorrow the whole universe. Fuck yeah humanity.

For the kind of interplanetary colonisation/civilisation shown in The Expanse, we'd need the Epstein Drive...
...Elon Musk didn't kill himself.
