i was having to shift up gears way too early then i saw my throttle was only opening 3/4. this video is very helpful to adjust that now thank you so much! Im just having my throttle not snapping back and closing enough. is there somewhere on the carb i can adjust that? thank you!
Hello nice video, anyway of telling me what the jets should be on one for a. 2005 1200sporty ? This carb. Had a cough at take off . Or pointer what to do as in adjusting. TIA. 👍🏽
yes but the mounting system is a pain in the ass. use the 38mm round slide instead. it bolts on easily and is jetted for the old sportster and shovelhead motors. plus they have tons or tuning parts available to make it work on just about anything. way easier to work on than the flatslide. tatro
I just bought a carb like this with the throttle cables going into the left side of the carb I can’t seem to find cables that will work any suggestions I have a 2001 softail
it is not needed if things are jetted correctly. all you are doing is flooding the motor with raw fuel. that is not good for the motor. non of my race bikes have pumps on them and they run just fine. tatro
not true. the dot requires tons of things on everything including bike and cars. that is why they all look similar. all the stuff we like to change was mandated by the dot. tatro
your nuts. the mikuin was made and jetted to work on a mildly modified harley. the stock cv carb was made and jetted for a constipated stock harley. it take way more than just jets to fix that. all the parts and labor to get it better are way more than buying the new carb. plus the mikuni carb has tons of tuning options available that can make it work good with just about any mods you want to do. tatro
I like how adjustable that set up is. Nice bit of kit.
Haha “ a little fine tuning adjustment with the appropriate device” - Tatro raps on it with a hammer.
would that be the #1 or #2 hammer.

No fuel connection?
No vaccum ignition sensor hose?

FIRE IT UP!!! 🔥
That part of the frame behind the carb stabilizing the engine with tear up the top of the mikuni. Did you cut it down or what?
Yup been there done that n choke lasted a week tops.... school boy error
Where does the vacuum line attach on bike? I had it attached to a Pingle vacuum operated petcock but could get it dialed in. Can I just plug it?
why would Pingle make a vacuum operated petcock. they only make race parts. all vacuum operated petcocks have to have vacuum in order to work.

Well I had one on my 100ci revtec. Anyway, where does the vacuum coming from the Mikuni go on the bike itself? Or can I just plug it?
Which carburetor manifold gasket did u use. I used a regular harley one i have an air leak behind carb..backfires now on deceleration.

you need more fuel.

Have you installed a Flatside on a Ironhead?
yes but the mounting system is a pain in the ass. use the 38mm round slide instead. it bolts on easily and is jetted for the old sportster and shovelhead motors. plus they have tons or tuning parts available to make it work on just about anything. way easier to work on than the flatslide.

that would be the 1st gen carbs. barnett makes the cables.

@@TatroMachine okay thank you
Hey iam looking for an idle screw (short one) , for the hsr42, might you have a used or new one kicking around?
yes, i stock parts here at tatro machine.
tatro
@@TatroMachine would you ship to Canada ?
I left a email message on your website
Will the hsr fit with the stock intake?
It should, yes.
Why is it that you like to cut the accelerator pumps function to a minimal

Wow

l have same carbie on my 94 1340 FLSTN Evo l only run a pull cable never a push dont need it... cheers
there are 2 cables for a reason, running 1 puts more stress on the 1 cable and they will tend too break
That's not why. Harley use to run one cable and people blamed wrecks on the carb sticking open. After a lawsuit harley went to a dual cable set up.

@@TatroMachine lm in Australia so not a problem here..
And what is this video supposed to be about, nothing?
Why the hell is that guy wearing a mask
did you look at the date of that video.
tatro
dont wear your mask when you ride your harley...you'll give us a bad name
Mikuni is junk put the stock carb back on change the jets reset the needle way better carb for the EVO motor
