  • In this episode, Noel Salas and Asa Cascavilla put the Chilli "Peppa Twin" through the paces while James Cheal from Chilli Surfboards breaks down the board attributes. Having the same high-performance DNA as other Chilli surfboards, the "Peppa Twin" has a wide tail with pulled back fin box placement, is relatively flat with a nice V and simple exit rocker as well as a pretty flat deck and pulled in rails. James executes a high performance feel on this twin fin without eliminating paddle power.
Noel likes the HP Twins on the 5'4 Twin Tech but switched to the Pivot Twin + Trailer in Carbon on the 5'6. It made the 5'6 feel much looser due to the fin boxes being placed further back on this twin. Noel goes into further detail and explanation about fin boxes and all the set ups to make the "Peppa Twin" surf best.
The Twin Tech at 5'4 worked awesome in the pool at Waco Surf as opposed to the 5'5 XTR10 Parallel Carbon. XTR10 Carbon Lite is Noel's favorite on this board. Asa liked the carbon layup on the XTR10 if his footing was correct but agreed with Noel's opinion in regards to the Twin Tech. Overall, you can ride this board in 2-to-4-foot surf, and can be considered a daily driver for Intermediate all the way to Pro-Level surfers if you want a performance feel and speed. Check out the full video for all the details. Enjoy!

Great showcase of the board - looks super maneuverable under foot.

Amazing board and solid review! I was lucky enough to find this board in an eps full carbon construction and immediately fell in love with the way it looks and feels under arm. In the water it absolutely flies! Surfs exactly the way you describe it. So much speed from the second you’re on your feet. It is my first twin and it did not disappoint one bit.

Love Chilli boards! Picked up a mid-strength a couple years ago. As a landlocked bloke who only gets to the coast 5-6 times a year, that board reconnected me to my surfing in an “always there for me” kind of way. Great review as always Noel 🤙🏼

Have you heard of anyone running your pivot twins in it? I’ve mainly run Mayhem Thrusters.

    Great review as always!
I’m wondering if PT is more for good waves or works in mushy waves. Is it versatile or needing push from waves?
Is the flat deck helping easy padding?
I would also love to hear your thoughts on the comparisons with Deuce, which is also a performance twin.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777

@@koichihashikawa8738 The PT needs a wave with some push to go good.
Both the Deuce and PT offer incredible performance. To compare them both side by side go to our website and compare. Cheers

solid backside🔥how is it compere to the bv2 in terms of speed glide and paddling?

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  12 дней назад +1

@@eyalpolishook6486 hard to compare these two boards… a pure twin fin board draws different lines. The BV2 offers a bit more glide and effortless speed in small weaker waves do to less overall rocker.
The PT has a bit more hold and drive in overhead surf.

Great review! Your friend Asa is a good surfer, but he has a "locked" backside and is terrible to look at although effective. From your videos I saw that you have improved a lot from the first video to today even though you were already an excellent surfer and even though you were no longer very young. Let's try to unlock Asa's backside! (With all due respect to him)

@@matteot6903 We are all working on our surfing. I am working with Asa to unlock his surfing with better technique and he is progressing.
It takes time and I know there are a lot of surfers that can relate to Asa’s surfing. Asa is heavily front footed and I am more back footed and when we both test boards it helps others that surf off their front foot to know how the board will go for them.

Instead of having the fins further back so it’s like a thruster but a twin…MAKE A TWINZER fin. I don’t know why any well known shapers/companies don’t make a twinzer fin board. They go so good and the sweet spot is bigger, best of both a twin and a thruster..is a twinzer

Great board! Have a 5,6 with the tickness and wide of a 5'5 and it's epic. Works well in small surf but it's better in good chest to head high waves.

Why is everyone trying to make twin fins go like thrusters??? Have to be one of the strangest trends I’ve come across.

@@wozza77able A twin Fin will always surf like a twin fin… they are faster, looser, and draw different lines compared to a Thruster. However we are talking about performance Twin Fin boards that offer the hold, drive, speed, and performance to draw sharper lines without sliding out.

Another great review! Atrocious paint job on Jame's walk-thru. Between slater's great white and this paint job, shaper's paint aethestics are heading in the wrong direction 😬
