A huge amount to talk about with Starship and the Starbases as always. Exciting test articles, SpaceX Starship Booster Rolls in for Static Fire Campaign, SLS Go for Artemis 1 launch as well. Falcon 9 flights a plenty, and then many more things happened.

Only just realised Spreadshirt are offering free shipping for the next few days, so if you would like to pick up any gear from the merch store, and you happen to live in a location that is expensive to ship to, good chance to pick it up much cheaper now.

how was TRUMP election coverage ??? WAS GOOD ENOUGH for you to ALMOST start a war ?
I see a lot of mentions of Subscribers enjoying their coffee and watching your weekly updates. How about some Marcus House Branded Coffee to sell in your Merch Store. I would certainly buy some!
Marcus:
Russia announced the Roscosmos burn and took credit for the debris to announce to the world the abiliy to cut off access to orbits with precision.
The heck is going on! I was unsubscribed too! Thanks for the reminder.
I guess you got to experience it before you believe it.
Min15:38 Lol! Mr.Marcus, you are the best! Thank you so much!
Thank you. Every Saturday morning at 8:00am I grab a cup of coffee and wait for your drop. I then sit down drink my coffee and am entertained for about a half hour. Wonderful job. Thank you
Haha. Thanks Jerry. Couldn't do it without you all.
I literally do the same thing! I’ve been looking forward to Marcus’s videos every Saturday morning for quite some time now.
Yep, saturday morning coffee crew checking in.
Damn...
So I'm not the only one lol
Same!
When they filming things like that engine start there is usually a mirror that is in harm's way. The camera (which usually is extremely expensive) is sitting protected at the side pointing at the mirror.
Yep, think filmed nuclear detonation using actual film..
The first booster lift by the chopsticks was executed to perfection. It is quite insane on how this is normal now when just a few months ago, it seemed like a crazy idea. Definitely looking forward for that static fire action even if it's 1 engine at a time for a start stated by Elon. For the NASA's Psyche mission, it's a pity that we lost another falcon heavy launch this year. I really hope that we don't lose anymore falcon heavy missions this year. It's been long since we saw 2 side boosters land in absolute glory. Great update as always Marcus! Keep it coming
Considering it was the first, they only really had a few pauses and then up it went. All very smooth.
I thought Psyche is going to not return the boosters to eath so they get max speed?
@@MarcusHouse and compare that to the 1.5B for SLS 1B new launch tower. They should just ask Space to make them their own SLS chopsticks. Or scrap the whole SLS phase 4+ and fund SpaceX to do it.
@@ColemanParker : I've said it before, and I'll say it again- if Elon Musk gets killed by a freak meteor strike then Starship's development program may be cancelled, but if the same happens to Boeing then SLS will continue it's development, so the SLS program should continue until Starship reaches the launch market.
@@absalomdraconis I believe that was true in 2015 but SpaceX has moved beyond Elon. Just look at the Boeing Starliner. Still on a throw away rocket. Still the escape system is tossed every time. Not faring recovery. The old school government contractors are just built too inefficiently. They need to collapse and be rebuilt/ replaced.
Wooo! My fave Saturday space show.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the amazing engineering of the cranes used to build and lift such huge objects. Impressive.
The most infuriating thing about the Ariane 5 launch coverage is that up until 2 years ago they used to have some of the best launch coverage in the business.
They never had any live onboard cameras, but other than that, in terms of presentation, provided data, expert commentary, etc. they were even better than what SpaceX provided at the time.
But then they "improved" things with their "road to space" show.
Now we get this shitshow, where instead of showing a rocket launch they just show some random people watching a rocket launch.
And instead of expert commentary we have 2 of those people pretending to be idiots and asking the most obvious questions, so that the third person can pretend he has to explain things to them. Except he never really explains anything since he stops at least twice per sentence when he gets interrupted by callouts by the launch director. Callouts that would be really interesting for everybody watching the launch, but you need to understand french since they dont have time to translate them while they are in the middle of pretending to be idiots.
Exactly. Shitshow is the best term. They switch back and forth English to French, mostly French with all the science descriptions and I have no idea what's going on. You cant see anything as you just see the panel discussion with a tiny rocket vid in the corner. At times it was just a render. Ariane needs to learn how to inspire with their presentation. It might be smart for them to have two streams, english and French. Have the important stuff pre-translated. Look at how well Rocket Lab and SpaceX do it. They have their presentation timing down with pauses as control msgs come out. Just two presenters taking turns so its not all over the place. Best to have the science explained before and after the rocket launch. Hell, do it again during the 20 min hold, not while the bird is in flight and we are trying to watch it. And during the entire hold, they are blocking view of the rocket on the pad with a message block. Amatuers.
They did start a full screen replay a bit later, but then cut to talking heads right before the rocket entered sunlight and booster sep. Pretty sure I threw something at the screen.
What makes you think they are pretending?
do you know, i appreciate any attempt of transparency for the world audience, good luck to all launchers who re giving it ago, i for one need it, hello from Perth Australia, thank you for a top notch presentation marcus house!!
Wow, this level of hostility toward ArianeEspace is unbeleivable. Sad.
looks like it's time to get back into watching all the spacex news channels with things probably picking up again 👀
Lol was thinking that myself
It sure it. Things are about to get real.
Great show Marcus! Really looking forward to another SpaceX Starship test flight, it’s been ages! 👍🇬🇧
Thanks Bruce.
great show full of sperm
An excellent serving of space happiness. . Thank you MH + Team for everything. .
I think a lot of people need happiness today. Odd times.
@@MarcusHouse I couldn't agree more. . Odd times indeed. .
I’m seven minutes into the video and just seeing so much going on, this is crazy! What used to be single but massive events, are now occurring on same day timeframes! Frankencranes more homogeneous brother lifting, and mechazilla too. Thanks for the videos!
Oh wow! Thanks a heap Jared! Appreciate that!
Another breathtaking and thorough episode! Thank you for your great, and enthusiastic, coverage!! :D
IT'S ONLY BEEN A WEEK??? THIS FEEL LIKE 6 MONTHS OF PROGRESS. YAY!
I know right!
Man its getting exciting over at SpaceX !
It sure is.
Thanks Marcus, and also thanks for the guest spot you did on LabPadre SpaceX coverage a few days back. Was like a breath of fresh air when you started to talk, those other guys I think were burnt out at that moment and you brought them back to life! :)
Darn. I missed that.
Marcus, the BE4 camera was off to the side. They aim a mirror at the engine and then aim the camera into the mirror. That way nothing is in the way.
Nobody does this better than Marcus.
A spectacular week in space news! Thanks Marcus.
It sure has been.
When Starship finally launches, I'll probably be able to hear it in Florida!
Thanks for the updates! Always enjoy watching with a cup of caffeine on Saturday mornings!
I have such a backlog for this channel built up. Looking forward to seeing it all!
The newest prototypes are sure a lot sleeker than the Mark 1 Elon unveiled just a couple years ago. Super excited for the orbital Starship's maiden flight!
Agreed, they look much more ‘finished’.
That Mark-1 prototype was a shock. Surely that wrinkled soda-can could not be the future? And it wasn't. Each next prototype looked so much better.
I remind myself of the fact that they were welding outside, at first. Hats off to the pioneering attitude. Just start working, and build the factory around you.
You guys are a hoot. Thanks for the laugh.
I remember the corn silos lol
@@tubularap Why was it a shock? They took the same approach they did for everything that came before it. The initial prototype is mostly for learning about the build process and some initial testing. making it look good is a massive waste of time.
Love these videos, find myself actually looking forward to them every Saturday. Thanks for the coverage!
WOW!!! Another jam-packed informative video.
I always look forward to Saturday mornings for the SpaceX updates.
Thanks from Henderson Nevada 🇺🇲
Great job as always Marcus :) I love your videos and always get excited when Saturday rolls around. You're the main place I go for space news.
Thanks Gillian!
Another home run Marcus, you continue to impress with quality information and in depth coverage. My Saturday morning is now complete. See you next week, if not sooner.
I’ve had to watch this episode 3 times just so my mind could wrap around all the awesome events you covered. Thanks for an exciting episode of THINGS TO COME!
Every week you fill me in on so much. Tons of great info!
Thanks Marcus
I wonder what the general media will make of a successful Starship launch. I would like to think the combination of high definition video and a sound never heard before may get under peoples skin but the world maybe just too fragmented these days to recapture the enthusiasm of Apollo....
The gerneral medai will just hope that it explodes
It’ll be 2- or 3-minute segment every hour. And on the Democrat-aligned networks like MSNBC they’ll just use it to talk about big bad billionaire Elon Musk wasting money on something that doesn’t advance social justice, or whatever.
The general media will still be calling Starship the BFR reporting "...viewers will appreciate why why can't comment on what that means - haw-haw..." and "Billionaire Space Race Dick Jokes" and similar moronic commentary. The other audience have no idea at all.
The enthusiasm for Apollo was never as great as later mythmaking makes out. Apollo only had majority popular support for a brief period in 1968 and '69. To those of us who were excited about it, it was fantastically exciting. Most other people though, were either opposed or indifferent. The actual event of Apollo 11, of course, really caught people's attention. A firmer astronaut used to host a radio talk show here in Houston. I heard him tell a story once. He said it was during the Apollo 11 mission. There were a group of protesters at JSC. That made for bad publicity, so somebody figured out a way to get them out of public view. It was a HOT day in Houston (that much I remember). Somebody went out to the protesters and offered to let them continue their protest in the theater of the visitors' center, where it was *air conditioned,* and they had access to food and water. They may have been left wing, anti space nuts, but they weren't stupid. they accepted. So they sat in the theater, singing their stupid protest songs and chanting their anger. As the LM approached the surface however, the noise died down. It got quieter and quieter. Finally, when Armstrong said, "Houston, Tranquility Base here, Eagle has landed," they burst into cheers. Such a singular event brings people together in a singular way. It doesn't last though.
It's not the world which is frag'd, just the USA.
Its such an exciting time to be alive! Each week, Marcus documents the future becoming reality! So excited about Starship's next move!
yeah ! speaking of which..
Thanks for the consistent and high quality videos! Canada 🇨🇦
Great coverage as always, and can't wait for them to ramp back up to full test and flight mode!
Top quality content as always!!
Thanks Justin.
Another great video, Marcus! Lots of news to share with everyone I know. Let's get to 500k this year!
Cheers mate.
Yep 500K Subscribers and 1500 Patreon Supporters would be a sweet Xmas Gift for House and the team.
Ahhhh. Got my Marcus SpaceFix for the week. 🥴
Thanks for doing these weekly. Always look forward to the updates.
As usual Marcus an absolutely enthralling video packed with terrific information that always keeps me riveted to the screen. Never too short it always keeps my attention to the last minute. What a dantastic job you do and I can't wait for your next video... as always. Thank you for your enthusiasm, dedication to fact and of course your brilliant presentation 👏 👍 😀
A small FYI: It's hot on Boca Chica year round, it's just not quite as hot on the winter 😅
Thanks Marcus, love your updates. So professionally presented, never an uhm or ah, or a delay to check your notes. You make it look easy, but I can only imagine the prep that goes into each episode!
Barely a breath a lot of the time. LOL. Always too much to say.
Thanks for watching.
Hi Marcus, just a quick note to say thank you so much for what you do here on RUclips. You distil the weeks’ space news delightfully without 'dumbing down' or boring us to death. Roll on the orbital launch of Starship; very much looking forward to your coverage of the build-up, lift off and post mortem!
Glad you love the balance I try to write in. It is actually hard to get that balance right. Quite a bit on the cutting room floor each week.
Thanks Marcus. As ever, quality space news.
Big week that one.
"19 seconds might not sound like a lot." Yeah, it does. An enormous amount of stuff can go wrong in 19 seconds, not just in rocketry.
Great news and coverage. Thanks Marcus!
What is amazing is that SLS should have already punched through our atmosphere, but delay after delay has brought us back to that question, who is going to launch their heavy lift vehicle first? Personally, I would say SLS, but who knows? Thanks again for the video update, Marcus! I bet this week, more so than others, you had a bit of a rough time trimming off juicy details and footage to fit on that timeline. Keep up the fantastic work!
Why do you say sls?
What is the point of SLS though. It’s a massive waste of money compared to what space x is doing. That money wasted in SLS could be put to much better use by space x.
@@MusicalMemeology The point of SLS is to get senators to vote for it by putting big government contracts in several different states.
@@spencervance8484 oh it’s just a guess. I hope for Starship to prevail as, to respond to jazeboy69, I believe SLS is a lot of money wasted. Let’s hope SpaceX can walk away with the big W here in the next few months and surprise us all with excellent test flights.
I don't think it really matters, Jeremy, but Space X does have the possibility of a July launch and SLS earliest is Aug. What matters is a working vehicle and cost of launch. On that SLS doesn't have a chance of coming close to SpaceX on cost.
So we are going to get a REAL RACE between SLS and Starship: Who of the two will launch first. Coming to a sky near you in July, August or September. This is going to be a HOT summer.
Thanks as always! Great to hear you joining in on the LabPadre discussion during the historic lift. Hope you were on time picking up the kids after school!
Loving these updates Marcus! Keeps me passionate about space exploration :)
one month from today will be the three year aniversary of starhoppers first flight. how far they've come.
Yes, it's incredible what has happened since then. 😉
Two back to back fantastic Space News updates. First, the FAA Mitigated FONSI for Starship last week. And 3 F9 launches within 37 hours this week. Could the 3rd week bring exciting S7 testing? Hope so.
Static fire testing looks like it is going to kick off on Monday. Stay tuned.
Another great video, Marcus. Thanks for it!
Brilliantly done Marcus! As always my friend.
I’m guessing the new Starship launch tower is a bit cheaper than the ULA/SLS one 🤣
I would certainly hope so.
The planned 2nd SLS mobile launch tower which is projected to cost $1.5 billion, or the present one that cost nearly a billion? Per NASA plans the present one will be used only 3 times.
@@donjones4719 Possibly 4 times as apparently NASA is discussing an Artemis III.5 mission. That would require a new ICPS from ULA. Since Boeing is building the EUS for the SLS Block 1B, maybe NASA is detecting schedule slippage for the EUS.
Ariane Space needs to contact SpaceX as how to cover a launch!
Thanks Marcus and crew a great and informative video as always great effort appreciated from Leigh Lancashire 🇬🇧
Thank you for another excellent report. Another great start to our Saturday!
Don't let the unsubscribes stop you. Your global space news coverage is Epic! The other channels miss space news you always catch. Will continue watching your channel 'till the end.
Marcus, Great reporting - Starship vs SLS race to launch - exciting indeed. My money is on Starship on Aug 31st. Thanks Eamon
I'm thinking Starship will make it up in July. (Optimism at its finest lol)
My money is on Starship too - both first to launch and long term most successful.
I originally (last year) expected starship first, but SLS is looking really close. At this point, I'm expecting SLS to barely beat starship to launch.
Thanks again! I look forward to my Saturday morning cup of coffee and space news every week!
Thanks for this video, I love watching your videos while im busy, Keep up :)
Without Team SpaceX we would be stuck on earth for a long time. Thank you Elon for reviving the dream and building an excellent team to push forward!
Marcus house 7 years ago "OMG they landed the booster, they've done the impossible", Marcus today "And they landed it just a little to the side" So funny how SpaceX just keeps doing the impossible. Keep up the great work man
Man I love being alive at this time
Another great episode of Space related news. This really keeps me updated what's going on. Also, this kind of videos makes me improve my skills in designing and building better structure of everything I make. Yeah, I am a DJ, but I am also PhD in Astrophysics. Thanks Markus for keeping me updated on what's going on with the space community. I really love it. I hope to build by dream some day and invite you to show it to the world, because you are great in what you are doing.
Be blessed.
It must be Saturday morning!
Happy Saturday.
Or evening.
I wonder whats going through the minds of the management at Roscosmos, the "Broomsticks" seem to be doing a way better job than the big Russian rockets.
The fact that you don't hound people to subscribe to you is refreshing....I subscribed.
Thanks Marcus! Exciting times
Loved hearing' hey hey ' was on the NSF stream I was watching💙

Thanks, Marcus! Very interesting as usual. Didn’t even know about the Mercury mission. Your reports are so valuable!
Great video update Marcus! Thank you from the UK!
Starship will most definitely fly first.
i think space x will launch first. whether or not it goes up and does it's job is another matter. don't get me wrong, i hope it does.
Amazing episode Marcus!!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort to make these videos! You’re accomplishing a very important task-spreading the news of the future!
I dont wanna say this si so but its kinda strange that FAA kept delaying Spacex right up untill artimas caught up...
I suspect a lot of people think the same as you with respect to Artemis and Starship delays.
I'm curious who came up with the name Arianespace with space nearly the same sounding as race. :-/ Does anyone review anything anymore?
Take the SLS for example, I mean, sure, we tested 85% of the SLS rocket in WDR, that's close enough, let's launch it...
They either think this their last shot, or they are not too bright. Probably a bit of both.
@@anthonylosego I mean tbh if you look hard enough u will find something bad in everything who gives a shit what it is called lol
The FAA is the lead agency with NASA, the Army Corps of Engineers, the US Coast Guard, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and the National Park Service all involved from the beginning. With 6 different goverment agencies involved, it is not surprising that the review took time. Musk asking everyone to comment, over 18,000 comments were received, didn't help. Consultations were mentioned for a third time on Apr 29th and mitigations for the first time, so some issues did come up and SpaceX has been working out a solution with whichever agency or agencies cover the issue. The Permitting Dashboard: Federal Infrastructue Projects has 5 sections to the FAA review. The first was completed in Oct 2021, second in Jan 2022, third in Apr 2022, fourth in May 2022, and fifth in Jun 2022, so there was continual progress.
SLS is a joke ...
Great Up Date Marcus always enjoy your up dates Thanks you Great Vlog

Wow 33 raptor boosters!!! 😳 super scary launch. Massive Power.
Perhaps they will use the old vertical tanks for water supply, for water suppression.
Could also use it for water perhaps. I'm trying to get updated pics on the plumbing. That should give more hints.
Thank you for another wonderful video, Marcus. Seeing the chopsticks in action is pretty darn cool.
