Sidney Greenstreet as Nero Wolfe, second only to Bob Bailey as Johnny Dollar! So glad these are here! Thanks Mr and Mrs H for your time and talent in putting all these compilation videos together!
Sydney Greenstreet was a great Nero Wolfe. I really enjoy listening to The New Adventures of Nero Wolfe. I only wish the show would have gone on longer so there could have been more shows. I am grateful for the shows we do have.
@@patrickpilch2352 Of course, but all kids have traits their parents do not have. To me, Wolfe has many of the traits exhibited by Mycroft Holmes - the physical inactivity and size coupled with the razor-sharp mental abilities.
These are okay but, to anyone who reads this, the Nero Wolfe episodes on RUclips, starring Maury Chaykin and Timothy Hutton, who also directs, are just wonderful, especially The Doorbell Rings. Read the books and you see Chaykin and Hutton in every paragraph.
Archie. .... "Aww.chee ! Bring me a bee-â !" "Mr Wolfe, it's only 5 and 3/4's inches from your elbow if you just reach for it. " "Nonsense. Are you nuts? You know I abhor strenuous exercise. " I mean, ah, huh?? That's why I love Nero and Aww-chee. They allow me to feel much better about myself and my nut-case-head. Yep. Yep. 😉
As much as I love listening to this program which I do every day at least five episodes a day ha ha I really love the scenery of the river in the background. Oh my gosh that’s awesome when it hits 110 outside and I’m out water and I’m gonna really want to watch that scenery again. Can I ask how you download it or where you got the scenery of this flowing river please please please ?please
i love Archie’s voice* and delivery. the show wouldn’t work without him. :} 🙃🌷 and, of course, Sidney Greenstreet is amazing. he does so much with so few lines :} 🎭 and great Foley artists !!! %#^**! :) lol (*there’s a different Archie in the last 2 of 3. then the real Archie is in the last one :)

Any chance Mr. Stout's other detectives, Canby Rankin, Sylvia Raffray, Theodolinda Bonner, and Tecumseh Fox, will make it to RUclips? They were good books but never achieved the success of Nero Wolfe.
Hi Mr. H and Family, I missed your last night live chat upload, however it was because I was listening to this upload of Henry Green street as Nero Wolfe compilation! Enjoy all of H&H E channel’s post .🎭🫶👋
Mr H. I have become confused on which pm you are showing- 😨 👥 📼 Is it to be Tue Thurs and 📻 Saturday's? At 9 pm central? So will you be showing tomorrow night? Elgin. Illinois. 💡
Mr. Greentree is very personable and entertaining. However, he is not the NW of Rex Stout. That Wolfe was often unpleasant and terse. Seldom did he laugh or make jokes with Archie. He is described as magesterial iand formidable. Enjoy these programs nonetheless.

Sidney Greenstreet sure was a good actor!! so were both Archies. a terrific show! :) 😋
One of my favorites! Love Greenstreet!
This was a new one for me! It was great. Stay tuned for more Nero/Greenstreet!😀
@@HearthandHomeEntertainment awesome
Orson Welles would have also made a great Nero Wolfe!
This is fun.
Timothy Hutton is my favorite ‘Archie’ woo hoo
There is a "biography" of Sherlock Holmes that posits Nero Wolfe was the illegitimate son of Holmes and Irene Adler.... I approve this theory!
This makes sense!😀
Ditto!
Never heard of it but interesting. NW has traits SH does not

VERY interesting, indeed!
Great job

There is room for all interpretations, much like Sherlock Holmes
@@betsya7054 Agreed, but the Chaykin/Hutton version is head and shoulders above the others. You only have to read one of the books to realise that.
Love Nero and his Beero!
yeah I'm gettin' thirsty just listening to him!

I heard Orson Wells wanted to play Wolfe. Can you imagine? Mercury Theatre of the Air presents ....!
That would have been terrific, too!
Greenstreet is a great Nero.

Love this show. Love Gerald Mohr.
👍 I'm a big fan of Mohr too. He is in so many radio shows! I'm a big fan of Jay Novello too, it was great to hear them both in this!😀
Ninety thousand dollars in THOSE DAYS were the equivalent of 2 million dollars today.
Thanks! Love the fat man!
👍 Stay tuned, I've got another compilation coming up soon!
Great show only wish there were more
You and me both!😀 Definitely not enough of this one!
55 books. All on audio. Done the set 1.5x.

0:00:02 Mr Horton hears a "who? Who" from Archie.
Or The Big Show with Tallulah Bankhead?

Most adaptations are changed and usually for the betterment
Is it true that Max from 'Hart to Hart' was Archie at one point?
He played Archie in a movie version. I don’t believe he was in the radio shows.
😢
I can listen to Nero Wolfe all night, Archie being so lecherous with every woman he comes in contact with tho, is a different story 🤮 unfort.
If only Bogart had been Archie…
I listen to these over and over. they remain fun and lively. Thanks to the H.s' work and time. ⌚ Money for equipment.
Yikes. M. Illinois.
