    You can make your own self rising flour. I make mine all the time. For every cup of flour, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoons of salt.
    I am gonna try your brining technique. I'm not a fan of hot sauce but since you add sugar in the brine it will prolly cut down on the spiciness taste of the hot sauce

    • @MaeMaesHappyTable
      @MaeMaesHappyTable  3 года назад +3

      Thanks for sharing the tip on the flour….. your can omit the hot sauce in the brine and use a 2 Tablespoons of vinegar instead. Thanks for watching 😇🥰🙏🏾

    Miss Mae Mae I am so glad that I have started frying in self-rising flour. It has made a big difference for me. I just wish I lived in the South so that I could get the White Lily brand of flour. I make sure that I grab a few bags whenever I am in the South because you pay a premium for it in Los Angeles. I do have one question for you. How long do you let your oil heat up before putting in your chicken? Keep these videos coming. They are so detailed and we will all be gourmet chefs thanks to you! And Mister Mae Mae thank you for your camera work!

    Good Sunday morning Mae Mae!❤ You've got me so hungry now, I'm going to the store right now to get some chicken. I won't get to brine it overnight like it should, but it will have about 4 hours to soak before I fry it for our supper. Next time I'll be sure to let it soak overnight. Thank you for the tip about the oil too. Do you put the used oil in the refrigerator so it'll keep longer? I'll fix us some green beans and mashed potatoes to go with that good chicken...oh, some buttermilk biscuits too. Thanks so much! I love your cooking!😊
