    As a Chiefs fan, I’ve never felt like the media needs to ignore the pending charges or that conversation about it is/was killing our groove… it just gets repetitive when Florio can’t mention Rashee’s name without giving the same spiel

    No the league should not enforce a suspension when he's hurt. That is so wrong.
    Suspensions needs to apply when you are on active roster, meaning you are eligible to be in uniform and can pass an NFL physical to play.

      Actually, given that the suspension is designed to punish the player and not the team, it not about playing time. It’s more about the paycheck. Suspending him while he’s injured would impact his pay the same as when he’s active.
      That said, I don’t see the league doing it until he’s resolved his court case.

      @flinx1241 fair point but many athletes have said that missing the games is harder on them. That may not be the case with Rice since he is in some trouble financially with the lawsuits, and not having earned a lot yet in the NFL. I think he should miss games. I was just in an accident myself, someone else's fault, he was on his phone. And my life is all effed up as a result. Rice should actually be in jail with his reckless he was with people's health and lives.

    I’m dumbfounded that Rice is even playing. The guy has felony charges against him and the NFL is allowing him to be playing. The Dallas DA would be a fool to cut a deal with Rice let him go to trial.

      @@MrDuds1984 They stopped doing that when they suspended players that ended up not getting a conviction. So they wait to see if there is a conviction then decide their side of things.

    I don’t understand why the NFL would even consider that. Suspensions for what Rice did aren’t supposed to be for convenience. They are supposed to be a punishment and a learning lesson for wreckless criminal behavior

    “Mahomes hits Rashee Rice over the middle for a seven yard gain which is how many charges he has against him.”
    “Tackled by number 24 on the defense, which is how many people he could have killed with his reckless driving”

    I don’t know what is so hard for people to understand. It is the current NFL policy to wait until the legal issues are decided. If he is convicted, they will suspend him. He hasn’t gotten away with anything.
    If he is acquitted of all charges then you all can continue crying but until then it’s innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT OF LAW and the league will not punish an innocent player.

      The reason people don’t understand is that’s not how it works at all, they didnt wait for any number of suspended players to have their day in court they usually do an independent investigation and usually suspend before any legal action is resolved this situation is completely outside the norm

      It's easier to wait for due process when the crime isn't on video. Hit and run with injuries is a crime & he should not be punished by the law without due process but the NFL has what it needs to suspend Rice. Whatever the penalty he will play again and can have a good career if he plays well.

    Have to laugh a bit when Pat says " I didn't know exactly what happened because obviously i was trying to make a tackle""....He didn't know what happened because he turned his back into the tackle and put his head down. He couldn't see if, or who, he would hit. He looked like a place kicker trying to make a tackle on a kickoff.

    I never cry conspiracy or claim the league/refs are helping the Chiefs, but if the NFL hands down a suspension for Rice to serve while he's rehabbing his injury, NFL fans might actually riot. That would make a mockery of the real suspensions other players have had to serve. He was never going to get suspended this season, so why would the league change course now? That would look like clear and obvious favoritism.

      Suspended equals no pay, injured he still gets paid, Injured and suspended he doesn’t get paid. The no pay part is all the NFL actually cares about. It’s about punishing the player not punishing the team and they can cost the player his money now or later it doesn’t really matter in the end he still gets punished the same.

      I really hope this doesn't happen. Going with the "hey I end up getting hurt, so I am ready for my suspension" is bad precedent. Rice could have sorted out his legal mess already. But he chose to play. He shouldn't be allowed to play both cards when its convenient.

    Am I the only one who feels that Rice losing a season to injury is karmic justice? He'll have lots of time to ponder the injuries he caused to the victims of the street racing accident he caused.     Can the NFL suspend a player that is on IR? It just feels like they can't, and the suspension wouldn't start until he's cleared to play. Once he goes to IR that almost means the suspension couldn't happen until the 2025 season at the earliest.

      Honestly Tyler Lockett is an interesting option. The dude is criminally underrated. Pair him with Mahomes and you'll have consistent production at least. Seahawks have a deep enough receiving crew they could elevate JSN to official WR2 level and keep going, maybe use the trade to improve their o-line and give Geno more than 0.002 seconds to throw the ball every snap.

    The hypocrisy of Roger Goodell and the NFL is astounding. As a Patriots fan I watched Tom Brady be suspended for four games for alleged deflated footballs which later after he fought it the judge threw the case out and felt it was wasting the court's time. Rashee Rice causes a horrific accident and proceeds to play like absolutely nothing happened. Unbelievable. 🤦‍♀️
