As a Chiefs fan, I’ve never felt like the media needs to ignore the pending charges or that conversation about it is/was killing our groove… it just gets repetitive when Florio can’t mention Rashee’s name without giving the same spiel
No the league should not enforce a suspension when he's hurt. That is so wrong. Suspensions needs to apply when you are on active roster, meaning you are eligible to be in uniform and can pass an NFL physical to play.
@@jibernish right, wait until he health and then suspend him, NFL dumb they wait, clearly he’s guilty, we seen video no need for the word “allegedly” seen it with my own eyes.
Actually, given that the suspension is designed to punish the player and not the team, it not about playing time. It’s more about the paycheck. Suspending him while he’s injured would impact his pay the same as when he’s active. That said, I don’t see the league doing it until he’s resolved his court case.
@flinx1241 fair point but many athletes have said that missing the games is harder on them. That may not be the case with Rice since he is in some trouble financially with the lawsuits, and not having earned a lot yet in the NFL. I think he should miss games. He hasn’t gotten away with anything. If he is acquitted of all charges then you all can continue crying but until then it’s innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT OF LAW and the league will not punish an innocent player.
The reason people don’t understand is that’s not how it works at all, they didnt wait for any number of suspended players to have their day in court they usually do an independent investigation and usually suspend before any legal action is resolved this situation is completely outside the norm
It's easier to wait for due process when the crime isn't on video. Hit and run with injuries is a crime & he should not be punished by the law without due process but the NFL has what it needs to suspend Rice. Whatever the penalty he will play again and can have a good career if he plays well.
Have to laugh a bit when Pat says " I didn't know exactly what happened because obviously i was trying to make a tackle""....He didn't know what happened because he turned his back into the tackle and put his head down. He couldn't see if, or who, he would hit. He looked like a place kicker trying to make a tackle on a kickoff.
I never cry conspiracy or claim the league/refs are helping the Chiefs, but if the NFL hands down a suspension for Rice to serve while he's rehabbing his injury, NFL fans might actually riot. That would make a mockery of the real suspensions other players have had to serve. He was never going to get suspended this season, so why would the league change course now? That would look like clear and obvious favoritism.
They want the cheifs to 3 peat, that's why he didn't get suspended. They planned on suspending him next year anyways so he will still be getting suspended next year when he settles in court.
Why would you do the suspension while he's injured? That defeats the point of the suspension. He should be punished while he's able to play so it's an actual punishment.
Suspended equals no pay, injured he still gets paid, Injured and suspended he doesn’t get paid. The no pay part is all the NFL actually cares about. It’s about punishing the player not punishing the team and they can cost the player his money now or later it doesn’t really matter in the end he still gets punished the same.
I really hope this doesn't happen. Going with the "hey I end up getting hurt, so I am ready for my suspension" is bad precedent. Rice could have sorted out his legal mess already. But he chose to play. He shouldn't be allowed to play both cards when its convenient.

Honestly Tyler Lockett is an interesting option. The dude is criminally underrated. Pair him with Mahomes and you'll have consistent production at least.
