This is a very wrong impression that iranian women are protesting only just for obligatory hijab. In fact,
Iranian people are fighting for women's rights;Human rights and a democratic Iran.

They are also protesting the arabization/islamization of the Iranian culture. Iranians true culture and religion is not Islamic and in fact they fought the invading arab armies for decades before being subjugated by islam which is why today this is really a continuation of that struggle. The Persian people were originally Zoroastrian and they had a very tolerant and open culture but that sadly ended with Islam being forced upon them especially the brand of Islam that arose after the Islamic revolution in 1979.

*Religion does not define Iranian nationality as there are Iranian christians, Iranian Jews and majority of Iranians who are agnostic or athetists* and non-Iranians from the region can never understand the complexity of Iran nor the identity of Iranians because most of these countries were either colonies and/or created by Western powers, while Iran has been a nation for 2600 years that has never been colonized and that was defined by something larger and more ancient than islam.
It is the Islamic Republic occupying Iran since 1979 that is brutally forcing Islam on Iranians. the mullahs and ayatollahs, kill, rape and torture in the name of Islam, not in the name of "shia".
Iranians don't want these Islamic occupiers anymore.
Also to most Iranians, sunni and shia doesn't matter. It's islam to Iranians. All Iranians today are fed up with Islam. Islam was never compatible with Iran and Iranians.

A lot of people in Palestine fear sharing opinions to a foreign language speaking camera crew since they know their opinions might be used against them. For example this is an Israeli RUclips channel if it was meaning to twist the word of a Palestinian to use it in Israeli media they simply can take it out of context and then easily make this person look the way the want. Again I am not saying in anyway or form that this is the intention of this particular channel, from what I saw this is a respectful channel that's trying to ask questions that might be super interesting to get answers and I personally -as a Palestinian- enjoyed watching some of the videos here in the past and I didn't feel they were taken out of context at all. So a Palestinian saying "I don't care about politics" is most likely "I am not sure I can share my opinion with you" or they simply don't :D.
The second part about Palestinians being not informed, and I wrote a very long comment in one of the replies but I will sum it up in a different way. If you are in an occupied country you are basically sick of the news because it never carried a glimmer of hope after over 70 years of occupation. You turn on the news it's nothing but deaths caused by IDF, strikes and retaliations in responses to the deaths, more illegal settlements and a some outdated threats from some random party against Israel. Social media is not better at all it's even worse as it's full of fake and false news that does not help the situation at all.
Should Palestinians be aware about what's happening in Iran and support Iranians? I mean of course, Iranians supported Palestinians, and even if they did not, they are humans who are seeking their freedom from a dictatorship. So if anything Palestinians should support the people. But what about the money this system in Iran sends to Palestinians you might ask? As someone who lived in Palestine 30 years of my life I can assure you that all the international funding never fully reaches those who really need it! most of it lands in the pockets of PA and NGOs AND YET people are thankful for whatever crumbs they get, the gesture matters the most.
Now to end this, yet another, long rant to you dear internet strangers. I wish for the wonderful people of Iran to get the freedom they long for. And I really hope all of us humans get rid of all those corrupt governments ALL OF THEM without any exception and start treating each other as humans for once before this planet turns into ashes someday because of the human arrogance, greed and ego.

I don't think Iranian protests are just about hijab! There are so many reasons for them no to be happy and angry!
For example, for 40 years they've been told that it's a right thing to get involve in what is happening in-between Israel and Palestine while they could be focusing on what is happening in their own country and yet more that 98% people you talk to were not even aware of current events!
Frankly, I liked the guy who said he doesn't care and that he is more concern about Palestinian problems. I watch a lot of videos these days about this event and I'm happy to see that Iranian people finally have found out that if anything needs to be done about dictatorship running their country, is them, putting faith in other outside forces considering that almost every countries going through some sort of political and/or financial crises, would not be wise!
At the end I also want to thank you for your effort to project what is happening in Iran.

@@pumasixtysix first of all, whenever Israel gets into a confrontation with Palestine, they are so quick to advertise it to the whole damn world begging for help, I don't buy this whole concept of 'dying people'. I simply expected to see some humanity from their side as well. Also, they look very alive to me, in fact so alive that they have time to promote sectarian division and look down on the struggles of the Iranian people. If i were you, i would immediately delete this IGNORANT comment. Palestinian people (at least the people in this video) are IGNORANT of the pain of others, especially non-sunnis and ungrateful. Iran is the only country in the middle east that genuinely supports Palestine and this is how Palestinians pay back their respect. I am so appalled.

@@mamonzanona488 To be honest, not following the news kinda does make you ignorant, unless you are living some time of nomadic life. I agree with you on people having different interests, as it is evident in this video, but one's humanity should rise above such interests, which the people in this video failed to do. It is not feasible to go against all suffering, but it is your duty as a human being to educate yourself and spread awareness.
Also, very bold of you to assume I wrote this comment because of my background. Unlike your response, my comment comes from an objective stance. I don't know when and where it started that some countries began to force sisters to wear hijab, but this is actually forbidden! If this was the actual teachings of Islam, the religion would not have survived millenia!
It has to come from within you! The hijab is something beautiful, but it has to come from the heart!

Islam hasn't survived milenia plural. Islam is only 1400 years old. But yes, thankfully, most Muslim countries don't force women to wear a Hijab. I don't know how common this was before the 20th century.

Iranians used to be Muslims until 15 century when a fella from Azerbaijan cult attacked iranians and forced them into shia religion. Orginal Iranians was coerced and many fled to Tajikistan and other regions. Complex history.

Besides islam doesn't enforce hijab , it has to come from within a individual lady to wear. Look at all 56 muslim countries around the world, No force.
The ayatollah is actually making Iranians to become a apostate population by harsh punishment and no freedom which makes Iranians to hate islam. They don't know islam and shia is huge difference . By the way iran is not islamic state/republic it's fundamental shia republic. Furthermore the western governments wants regime change in Iran for cheap oil and gas, they don't care about human right abuses. Remember when your prime minister nationalised the oil in 1950s , they overthrow him. The west wants only a puppet state like Egypt and Iraq. Never forget that.
