I remember back in the 1980s Northern Ireland railways were using the old compartment carriges on their enterprise trains..I got on one going to mosney from connoly ...the nostalgia 😆 🤣
Aaah Mosney Station : the loop line has been removed and the station itself, now unused, is detached from the main line. (Worked there in summers 1970 and 71..)
Amazing video Stephen I love this video its so interesting and has some great moments I would say some of the rarest moments were when 112 hauled 141 & 85 and seeing 112 in North Wall & 3005 at Claude Road & it was rare seeing a 29k on the Cork line also why was a 29k on the Cork line & why was 112 in North Wall & keep up the amazing work
The RPSI have a few Steam locos for Heritage runs and conservation, its most likely being hauled to Inchicore to be stored while wviting for a heritage run
I’d love to see the M3 Parkway line extended to Navan, as having family in Dunshaughlin and travelling home on SailRail from Manchester via Holyhead into Dublin Port (North Wall) this would make things so much easier
The last time a loco went out to Howth prior to that was February 2020 on an engineers train. It's very rare to see anything apart from a dart on that line. In my 10 years of filming trains. I've only ever seen a loco on the branch about 10 times. So when something like that goes out, I never pass up the opportunity to grab a shot.
@@elliottfisherman because the Darts need to be brought to Drogheda for the wheel Lathe, but the Dart's are EMU's and rely on electrified lines, and the lines are only electrified as far as malahide, whereas the 29000's are DMU's and can run that far

Great video thanks for sharing 👍
No problem, I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍
Nice shots Stephen! The shots of 112 hauling 141 & 85 might never be a sight again
Greetings from Alabama USA I enjoy your videos.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoy them 👍
Awesome stuff ste you got your self a good load of stuff there
Thomas the tank engine 🥰 love the video Stephen
Nice catches. Question, why would you be seeing steam locomotives being hauled around?
The RPSI have a few Steam locos for Heritage runs and conservation, its most likely being hauled to Inchicore to be stored while wviting for a heritage run
yep
I saw one leaving galway station once a while ago
I wanna go on a journey with no. 85 merlin so bad
I wonder what the Mark 4 was doing at Dublin Connolly
The mark 4 was working the primer rose railtour
@@TrainVideosNI where does that operate from?
It was going from Dublin to Tralle
I saw a class 3000 doing the enterprise service today, I saw it arriving at Conolly at 14:37 I believe.
07.35 failed at Balbriggan this morning, I caught 231 hauling the set back to Connolly this morning.
Mm I assume the special haul (incl steam loco 85) was due to the recent Inchicore celebrations..

That second clip of the level crossing at Sutton is not something you see everday...i live there and you hardly ever see something like that.

@@irishrailtrains fantastic to see...i genuinely cant remember seeing a loco passing through Sutton.
Interesting video. Weird audio though.
A steam engine too!
Great vid, just one question. With the context of the 29000 set hauling the DART set, what does a DaRT transfer mean and what purpose does it serve?
DART transfers use 29000s to haul DARTs to drogheda for the wheel lathe. the 29000s are used because of the coupler being compatible
@@irish_trains brilliant, thanks
Why wouldn’t you just drive the DART itself?
@@elliottfisherman The electrified lines end at Malahide, well before Drogheda, so it needs to be towed by diesel power.

Great stuff. Any chance of a video or two of the work being carried out on the Foynes Branch in 2023? 🙂
Thank you, yeah. I'll be sure to pop down whenever the work starts.
@@irishrailtrains How do you know when certain trains are going to appear in specific areas at a specific time?
Less frequent than a bowel movement.
In your country the toilet on train is a hole in the floor to poo through
Is Rare Movements On Irish Rail 2023 going to come out soon?
It will be released this evening at some point, stay tuned!

There is not enough integration in the Irish rail network.
