Even with the blonde hair Saffron looks amazing and always has that beautiful smile. It must have been a thrill for her to work with The Cure since she's a huge fan.
God...lots of people be hatin' on this song here...wtf? It really isn't that bad...it is more of a fun song by them and you can tell they are enjoying themselves performing it, so I am enjoying that also! It does seem odd that you can not hear her voice very well, like her mike is turned way down so she doesn't overpower his vocals...It kind of reminds me of D'arcy from the Smashing Pumpkins, and how you could always see her lips moving and slowly mouthing the words, but not really hear any sound coming out LOL!. Anyway... like someone mentioned in a much earlier comment, I have not heard one song by the Cure that I can't stand! Some are more resonant than others, obviously, as with any other music I like, but I have just been blown away time and time again by how amazing they really are! GENIUS!
It's not embarrassing. Robert goes through his happy phases, and I think he's a lot more well-adjusted now. His music reflects that. Jeesh! Some people are only happy if you're miserable, pissing blood and shitting bats!
@KurioseKreatur I like it. People say it doesn't sound like a Cure song becauseof Saffron singing with Robert. Other than that, it's 100% typical Cure - the chords, the slide guitar "à la" Syd Barrett, the keyboard thingie from 0:55 onwards etc.Good live performance here too, even though i'm not crazy about Saffron either.
No. I just discovered this song because I dont listen to much of the stuff after Wish, and I liked this live version alot. This sounds like the Cure doing Brit-Pop and the duet makes it that much weirder/fun for me. But the studio version sounds cheesey with those dancey and dated keyboards imo.
Dude, if you got to sing with Robert Smith and The Cure, HTF would you be acting! I'd either be catatonic star-struck or bouncing all off the walls! LOL
@KurioseKreatur I dig it. A lot of Cure fans are like the classic rock folks - their music died years ago and they get pissed off at anyone who disturbs it.
Just Say Yes is far worse than doing the Unstuck which I actually think is a good Cure pop song. Never been able to make up my mind about Friday Im in Love.
Zombi3Biscuit: exactly!! besides, who thinks she is? she can't compare with Robert Smith!! whoever is she and I don't want to know her name needs a kick in the... there LOL =D
she is not mixed very loud so her singing is ok in the background for me cure have many happy tunes, i don't feel it's not cure usual style. it's of course not disintegration material :D
long-time hard-core Cure fan. I think Doing the Unstuck is great!!! this song....not so much. the acoustic version is decent though and the off-tune guitar stuff is pretty cool. but the lyrics, in particular, just...so "common". know what I mean? Doing the Unstuck.."it's a perfect day for kiss and swell for rip-zipping button-popping kiss and well... for dancing like you can't hear the beat and you don't give a further thought to things like feet" that's pop poetry man
i really enjoyed this ....except I really shouldve been the singer...doing a back flip off a big ass chandeleer ontop of Robert and then saying ...yes? and we would say yes and then more stuff, lol thank you. have a good day
Does anyone have any info about this performance? I can find nothing online. It's clearly from 2001 as they are promoting the track off their Greatest Hits collection, but what show is this, where is it, etc? even the sites with more cure info than you would wish for appear to have no info...
OK I found it by looking up "reservoir" which is on the wall behind them! This is from La Reservoir in Paris, 26.10.01, a private gig for 200 people! There is a German DVD release, the rest of the songs are singles and there is an interview with Robert.
why do you invite someone to overcome its voice? cant believe this video is only 4 years after Republica released its greatest hit: Ready to Go.... Saffron used to be so beautiful... =//

You guys have poor taste. This song is great, has really good lyrics, is upbeat. And she is a bundle of energy and joy! it's so positive.
i love the cure and dont ever remember hearing this song. i dont mind the blonde singing along, its a happy song :)
+Cthulhu Has Risen ...the 'blonde' is Saffron from Republica :)
+Cthulhu Has Risen It was only released with the greatest hits package..
I've loved the cure for 20+ yrs. They're music transcends time. So talented ... Absolutely amazing.
It's not embarrassing. Robert goes through his happy phases, and I think he's a lot more well-adjusted now.
His music reflects that.
Jeesh! Some people are only happy if you're miserable, pissing blood and shitting bats!
Yeup...that's her. Now my crush on her from the 90's just came back...FULL FORCE!
Awesome performance by Robert!
the blond girl is sooo prettyy^^
Oh man, this was a tough one to swallow - each of his one-off singles: Never Enough, Wrong Number and then this, slid drastically in quality.
I mean damn I would be the same way. Robert would probably have to have someone near him to keep me off of him if I was that close to him. Lol
❤❤❤💓💓💓💓💓💓yes❣️🔥🔥
i was there..and heard saffron good so i think they made it for the broadcast saffrons voice lesser loud..
u were there???? oh my god :)
Yes :)
You can see me at the beginning, lullaby and friday i'm in love...backcombed hair :)
I've just said exactly the same thing to my mate. Bang on. Doing the untsuck is a great tune.
Te amo Candy
just say yes!
looks like she enjoys what she is doing
Great song ! ! !

@KurioseKreatur
No. Many Cure fans just like to be upset and depressed about everything. There is a happy side to The Cure too. You're not alone.
Saffron is the lead singer of Republica. Remember the hit "Ready To Go" ?
Am I the only hardcore Cure fan who actually liked this song? :S
No. I just discovered this song because I dont listen to much of the stuff after Wish, and I liked this live version alot. This sounds like the Cure doing Brit-Pop and the duet makes it that much weirder/fun for me. But the studio version sounds cheesey with those dancey and dated keyboards imo.

The best band of the world!!!!!
it looks very unbeliable too see a girl in The Cure´s performance,
@KurioseKreatur I dig it. A lot of Cure fans are like the classic rock folks - their music died years ago and they get pissed off at anyone who disturbs it.
Safroon. 😛🥰😍🤩😘
Haha im more of a Figurehead, Faith, Lament, In your house kinda fan, but this was a pretty fun performance ;D
Just Say Yes is far worse than doing the Unstuck which I actually think is a good Cure pop song. Never been able to make up my mind about Friday Im in Love.
I think this is cool. Every once in while (not very often), Robert lets himself get unstuck.
it is a great song anyway. i love it, specially the guitar solo! (i still don't know who is the girl who sing)
Zombi3Biscuit: exactly!! besides, who thinks she is? she can't compare with Robert Smith!! whoever is she and I don't want to know her name needs a kick in the... there LOL =D

it's of course not disintegration material :D
desde que Boris se fue de la banda, todo se fue a la mierda!
Yeah this is itttttt
@extrafalario35
I really don't see why, since probably half of the cure songs are about romantic stories
long-time hard-core Cure fan. @music4sealpup
yes she is a bit undermixed
I find it fine like that ^^

10 people do not say yes in life
She was so fit about 7 years before this
what is this
Fucking terrible!! What were the cure thinking??
im glad her microphone is off lol
Please get this woman off the stage.
yes.terrible.
I love the Cure and have done for 30 years but this really is an embarrassing low point in their career. Just terrible. I cant watch or listen.
io adoro i cure ma questa canzone è bruttissima!!!! ma come ha fatto a farla con questa sciaquetta!!!!mah!!!!
The last half-decent song they did. From then on, it was downhill.
no me gusta ella ,como que arruida la onda de la cansion.
I'm a huge Cure fan but this is terrible.
