Best paint scheme ever put on an aircraft
I love your weathering. The panels pop and the finish looks legit. You didn't add too much and make it look unrealistic.
Thank you 😊
You can be rightly proud of a truly excellent build... The Tomcat was my favourite US Navy jet aircraft back in the day... immortalized in the film The Final Countdown with Kirk Douglas.
Thank you 😊
I commend you for not "cheating" the exit nozzles and surrounding panels.😉
Very good as is the rest of the model
Absolutely beautiful job. Love that jet. You are very talented. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning excellence for the entire project-video, construction, paint and finish !!!😳😳😳😳😳
Thank you 😊
So nice,love the F 14❤
すばらしい!Great job!!👍
Nice!.. I still have a Fujimi 1/48 F14A had it for the last 40 years. Thanks👍
Thank you 😊
Looks AMAZING and AWESOME BUILD!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗
Thank you 😊
What is your black cement ? It never overlaps and makes bumps ? Look so amazing to glue and fit empty spaces...
@@idubzh243 it's black CA glue I use to fill gaps
Very nice build, I love the engineering of a Tamiya kit, and the final result is fantastic.
Thanks John
Cheers..
This is on my NewYear build list
Its an amazing kit mate 🤗
Awesome work again Peri, very nice Build mate.
Cheers
Perfect 🤌. Very beautiful build.
Thank you very much
Awesome build Peri. Wished I bought that, but my SR just came today & I'm broke. So worth the ads to se you finish.
Thank you my friend
Thanks for this! I would like to get back into model building and detail is key. What is the best F-14 Tomcat I can buy to build in 1/48 or larger scale?
Tamiya is the best 1/48 mate
Excelente modelo mi favorito saludos 😊
Amazing work as always. Thanks for posting.
Thanks 😊
Fantastic video as always!!! Please allow me a proposal : can you please make a video explaining how to airbrush the clear cotes/varnishes of gsi creos mr hobby ? The lacquers and also the aqueous. Explaining the dillution ratio, psi, curing time and if they erase the preshading(lacquers). Thank you !!!!
Потрясающая сборка!
Για άλλη μια φορά έγραψες ....μπράβο..!!!
se eyxaristo :)
Fantastic Job!!
Thank you 😊
Very nice, are the acrylic rods 12mm by any chance? I measured my kit for it and 12/13 seems like it would fit.
Cannot remember to be honest 😕
I'm also working on F-14A.
I got a lot of inspiration.
It's good to make, and it'
Cheers buddy
A masterpiece, as usual. Congrats mate, awesome work
thank you
These planes, the Jolly Roger Tomcats (specifically) inspired the Macross Plus spinoff of the Robotech series. Most savage looking birds every to fly, true death stalking machines.
Looks like I’m going to be selling off a lot of the Hasegawa kits I’ve had for almost 20 years in the stash, and buy a few of these with that cash. Too many schemes out there that I want to build that are worthwhile to put on a higher quality kit, starting with the Albatross VF-111 Miss Molly sheet. Nice work.
Tamiya is the ultimate f-14 my friend
The tamiya kit is 150 odd bucks in Australia for some reason, the Hasegawa one is about 80. I'll stick with Hasegawa 😳
Is the "Dark wash" the Tamiya panel line accent? Just curious on why using that on all the parts after gluing IE. the panel line during the fuselage assembly. Also, is that UMP wash oil based?
Good job on this kit! One thing I noticed is that you swept back the wings too much (into the "parking" position), during flight, the fully swept back position of the wing should be a straight line with the fixed part of the wing (glove).
i havent glue the wings so i my client can pose as he pleases
AWESOME! where did you get that display stand from btw? :)
Ebay mate
Looks awesome Peri! I was just wondering, where did you get that black base/stand for the aircraft? It looks both stunning and clean together with the acrylic rods!
Thanks
The base is a cheap mdf plinth painted black 😁😁
@@PerisModelsthanks for your reply, I’ll definitely look into that!
Amazing job and if I may ask, what display stand is that at the end?
Thanks
It is just a plinth with clear rod
Where can I get that model stand? Or did it come with the kit? That’s a great build of the Tomcat.
I bought the plinth and acrylic rods from ebay
How do you know what paints to get for this kit?
Thanks so much for the incredible video.,
Follow the instructions
@@PerisModels I don't have the model in my hand yet,. I wanted to get the paints so I had them when the kit arrived.

Nice build! What clear did you use for the final matt coat? Tamiya XF-86?
Thanks
Correct xf-86
@@PerisModels Thank you!

Καλά χριστούγεννα καλές γιορτές.
Επίσης 👏👏👏
How do you keep dust and flecks from getting on your surface prior to painting? I always have dust and hairs stuck in my paint.?
Thanks
Before I paint I clean with a make up brush tha big fat ones
Hey so for the wings and the pattern @ 27:52 do you remember how you cut out those masks? Thanks.
I used pre cut masks
If you Google f-14 paint masks you will find them
Cannot remember the name of the Company
@@PerisModels okay thank you.
Hi Peri, if this is up to your normal high standards it will turn out to be absolutely fantastic, we would expect notning less of you, I am not trying to put pressure on you, not certain when your next video will be out, so I would like to wish you and your family and friends all the very bext for Christmas and hope you have a safe and Happy and covid free New Year, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
thank you very much my friend
hope you and your family have a great Christmas time and a happy new year
the stand looks cool makes F-14 like an art (sure it is) can you tell us how to make one
Its easy
Acrylic rod and plinth from ebay
Drilled holes and passed the rod through
@@PerisModels THANKS FOR THE INFO
Awesome build. The base does need a mirror though.
Thanks
Great idea mate about the mirror
Instead I have bought a vf-84 logo sticker for my client to add
Put the logo on top of the mirror.
Hey! I have that jet's tail number!
I too have a model of 200 from the Jolly Rodgers.
I'm a little surprised the kit doesn't appear to have the Glove Vanes. Yes they were disabled later on, but 200 of VF-61 did fly with them for a time. All of them did. For period authenticity, especially if it's carrying AIM-54s, it would've been nice if the kit had the F-14s glove vanes included in the build, that way the builder could decide if they wanted them deployed or not.
SLIGHT Nit pick, and maybe others have pointed it out...
The wings are swept into their stowage position. They do not go THAT far back in flight. In the position you have them in now, the aircraft wouldn't be able to maneuver because the elevons would impact the main wings if they're actuated to a positive AoA to pitch down.
Thank you my friend for the valuable information
Regarding the wings they are not glued as I had to ship the model to its owner
The Tamiya 1/32 F-14A Kit# 60303 has working glove vanes.
Hi, what diameter of acrylic tube did you use for the stand?
Cannot remember
Might be 12mm
Hi, Peri, what matt varnish did you use?
Tamiya xf-86
Fantastic build! Congrats ! Love the stand, did you make it?
Thank you 😊
Yes I did
@@PerisModels wow….. beautiful!
Hi, can I ask where you bought the display stand from? I am making this model and would love that stand! Thanks
I searched for it in ebay
Its an A4 size base nothing special!
I bought this model kit back in the 90's I believe, but I did not get the Jolly Roger edition, can I get the stickers for the Jolly Roger kit?
This is a brand you kit from tamiya
Not for the 90s
@@PerisModels Ok, thanks I thought it was a re issue, I just pulled my box out it is Tamiya Grumman F14A Tomcat 1:32 scale Serial number Model #60301.
Nice one💯Did the kit had pilot figures?
No aftermarket reedoak
Peri, what size was the acrylic you mounted the plane with?
A4 mate
Could you please identify the sanding sticks you use @ 18:55?
The sticks are from flory models
Google them
Why did you have to scratch build the mini inboard main gear door instead of using the kit one?
The fit was not good and it was faster 😁
@@PerisModels
Kk, Thx
Can you make a video how to paint modern jet pilots ?
Possibly yes my friend
What stand did u use for flight?
Just a plain plinth

What is that stuff you're putting in the gaps at 10:34 pls?
Magnifique mais par pitié
Au final un fond de scène plus foncé
Cela ferait encore plus ressortir ce travail 👍
Sorry I don't understand
@@PerisModels I believe
@gilles DELAVOUX was saying, for the finished model to be shown, a darker background than the blue in the video would really make the plane look good and they liked your work

About 420mm
Hi, my friend. Awesome video! I am a big fan of your work. I want to confirm if you use h 316 at part 30:26 of the video. The color looks like light gull gray. Is the subtitle is correct? Thank you for this master class of modeling!
H316 should be at the bottom
The top was light gul grey

thanks tip "black glue" you see what doing......
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Looks like the wings are in the oversweep setting... not the best for in flight :)
Your wing sweep is too far back for in-flight. You are showing the deck parking wing sweep which is a few degrees further than in-flight. Leading edges should be parallel for in-flight.
Thank you
I haven't glued the wings so they can be positioned at any angle 😉
@@PerisModels beautiful model. Just thought I'd point that out. 🙃
❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
Thanks 😊
It looked better before you added the blackwash as it covered many of the details of the sea salt weathering and the panel lines of the real plane are not that visible even when the plane is weathered.
?
It is too gloss for the tomcat.
Light gull grey FS16440 IS gloss. The first number of federal standard (FS) paint is to determine finish.
1 is gloss, 2 is semi-gloss and 3 is flat
