  • Join KCPT's primetime public and cultural affairs program, THE LOCAL SHOW, for a very special tour of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Inspired by Alphapointe Association for the Blind's 100th anniversary, The Nelson-Atkins has been offering free, monthly tactile tours for people who are blind or visually impaired, introducing visitors to the Museum's collection and allowing them to experience the joy of art through a hands-on approach of touching and feeling some of the signature sculptures in the Museum's collection. THE LOCAL SHOW gives viewers an inside look at this unique perspective on making art accessible to all, and the positive impact these tours have on everyone involved.

I love it. Recently VSA Missouri -- the State Organization on Arts and Disability -- sponsored "Blindness isn't Black", a traveling art exhibit featuring the work of nine disabled artists.
