Whos here because of ps plus?
Hell yeah, came here to check if it's worth the shot "for free" (PSN catalogue)
Me!
@@AndresdhaI've been watching alot of reviews now most of them says the story isn't that good but definitely the locations and gameplay are great 👍
Me! Just saw the July games and I thought I remembered I wanted to play this game from the video from Gamerax lol
My man!
What I found great about this game is that if you die, it's ok. You do keep the things you have collected. I found loads of bosses who wiped the floor with me, so I went away and came back when I felt I had got stronger. Sure enough I killed them I felt a sense of achievement. I do like the game and enjoy playing solo.
And then u discover hardcore...:P
Super stoked to play this! First one was an absolute gem and one of my fav games off all time!
Don't buy this game expecting an incredible story.
Buy this game for the amazing gameplay.
I loved Remnant I. Remnant 2 8s garbage.

I loved the 1st one as it was a hidden gem for my crew. We didn’t expect the level of fun and replay-ability it had so I’m excited for this part 2 with better graphics!
Same here, we got it for free on epic games and me and the boys played it for a good while and enjoyed it through and through! I just hope the co-op on 2 is as great, if
not better!
I wanted to like the first one but as a solo player it was too difficult alone
I loved the first remnant , the fact that your actions and the way you killed bosses really mattered and rewarded you with different loot based on that felt great . I’m really excited about this one
This one has that too. There are 4 ways to "beat" The ravager in this one..
@@SixballQ45 oh rlly ? That’s awesome as soon as I have money to spend I’ll buy this remnant , can’t wait to play
Who's here after it just got released on ps plus?
Is this game now for free on ps plus or no cuz i have it in my store for 44.99$
@@Millon56 it's free on ps plus extra/premium
(Small suggestion) I think these days the before you buy should have a exclusive point talking about if the performance of the game is good on PC.
To answer your questions jake! Im getting it on ps5 my gripe with the first one is that it wasn't cross play. The reasons that a small issue is due to some a few of my friends play on pc and my pc is cheeks (i build it in 2015).
However i had a Blast with the first one i had a lot of fun with it. I felt coop was more challenging with friends but i LOVED IT it forced cooperation and idk it just worked really well. I didnt put as many hours into it as a lot of fans of the game but itll always remain as a really fond memory which is why the second is a must buy. It one of my favorite games that can be coop the enemies were nice too ill never forget getting a axe thrown at my face...
There just isnt any games out there that has a coop op story that you can play through nowadays anyway... especially one that has replayablity and difficulty. In third person... its niche and it also good too!
If anyone missed Remnant 1 you should check it out. I had it sitting in my Steam library for a year before I checked it out and I ended up playing it all the way through well into NG+. I liked it so much I even got the original game Chronos Before the Ashes which I just started.
LOVED the first game; LOVE the change to bosses to be more unique experiences in the 2nd one. Can't wait to get home from work and continue playing
I think there’s 3 confirmed dlcs. If u look at the ultimate edition on ps5 it says you get access to 3 future dlcs within the first year of launch
The whole game looks like a Murder dolls concert. Black and red everywhere.... one tone throughout the whole thing.
As fun as the game was, Remnant 1 had some serious flaws. The enemies have to be a bit more engaging/interesting. This looks like the same thing but only a little bit prettier. The fact he said the story is generic is also super disappointing. Like come on guys, if we only want good games, we have to set the bar a little high here.
I enjoyed remnant from the ashes for what it was, a run and shoot darksoul and I almost clocked like 100 hours on that game. I feel like the 2nd is an massive improvement compared to the first game mostly in the gameplay the story has never really been important up to now and most people never really cared for it so I m not really gonna talk about it but I m definitely excited for this one.
No cross platform is kind of a turn off and I loved the first game. Until they add that, probably won't even buy it. Buddy of mine is on xbox, so can't really play with anyone I know.
Listening to the description of Remnant II, it does sound pretty close to the first one. Currently playing Outriders, it feels like the same coop concept but with a little bit more content. I'm enjoying my time at Outriders with a friend and probably going to jump on this after we finish/platine. Didn't get from the video, but how many can join in coop?
This reviewer absolutely didn’t spend much time with this game, or the first one. These guys are just putting up content for views. For folks that are new and haven’t played this game.. Its a must have! You will love it!
The only thing that I did not like from the first one, even though it was not a big turn off anyway, is that boss fight where difficulty mainly due to the spam spawn of enemies in the field (except for maybe one or two bosses that where legitimately difficult), I am glad to hear that they heard the feedback and tone this aspect down a bit. Still the first one was a dam good game, and I am sure that this one will be too. Also kudos to the devs for releasing a game that cost $50 rather than $70+.
Awesome review! It's good to see a game coming out in a proper state these days.
I will definitely play the first one as soon as I can since my pc is getting too weak for these new AAA games but I will also check out the sequel when I get a chance.
Hopefully you have a 40 series card because the optimization on my 3080 ti leaves a lot to be desired.
Holy shit, an ultrawide video.
My Z Flip 3 has been waiting for this moment
Remnant from the Ashes was probably one of the most underrated games of all time in how awesome it was while playing Co-Op with friends. I have been looking forward to this sequel for some time and can’t wait to get my hands on it. The hard part is convincing my friends to give it a go as first time players of the series.
👍🏼
Unlike Dark Soul series that have enemies placement or certain enemies are designed to attack you from behind, getting backstab in Remnant feel like totally on player for lack of awareness of your surroundings, at least that’s what i feel like
So a few things to those veteran players about the game that you might want to know after playing 12 hours on my own world and countless others in friends world, so there is a trait point limit, i Didn't know that going into the game I think its 60 rn cause thats what im at and it will not let me get anymore, archetypes are nice but take awhile to level and only after levling thos archtypes to max do you get those traits but you have to spend points into those traits even after maxing them, the worlds are bigger alot bigger and have more puzzles then the last one but because of the maxed trait point limit i feel you hit way to quickly also you dont get alot of traits in the game like the first one unles they are events and some bosses, most archtypes have strong passives which help. The maxing of trait points I feel hamper the replayability of the game definitely wont play this game as long the first one, as i feel I only need to play about 40 hours before i have everything in the game
Forgot to mention that currently there is only 4 worlds, no clue whether they are going to add more but I've ran 1 adventure mode and it took around 3 hours ran into some of the same bosses and some different wish they had some the worlds from the 1st one plus these make if for more replayability and alot of the rings seem to only be only be able to be useful if you literally only play for min and maxing and I mean alot of them there's not many rings that are versatile and for some bosses they aren't worth even fighting since only way you get traits is by picking tomes and killing bosses
Been absolutely loving this game, never heard of remnant before, never even heard of remnant 2 before in terms of advertisement, just saw it was a top seller one day and thought it looked interesting. Been grinding the game since.
Ayo, pause with the hop in and start blasting lmaooo
I really tried… I couldn’t get past the first hour. This game is soooo boring. Zero innovation, nothing interesting about the story, definitely not worth the money, feels like an Indy game made by a small team in the first unreal engine. Save your coin and endure until Armoured core boys.
I love this channel and the before you buy videos! I always watch them! It's so good to see if a game is for me or not and I even watch them for games I normally would not be interested in
This is my new favorite game. Almost beat a challenging level the wrong way before realizing I could do it another way. 10/10.
I got the first one for free with a friend, we played through the whole thing together. We had a great time, but as soon as it was over, neither of us had a clue what had just happened, we had fun, but had no interest in replaying it and immediately uninstalled it as soon as it finished. It's worth mentioning we both got it for free too and probably wouldn't have tried it for money. Needless to say, just like all the reviews I've heard on this one, the gameplay is interesting, but the story leaves little to keep my interest outside of the coop and gameplay. It seems very niche, which is great to scratch that itch if you've got it, but it wasn't really up my alley overall, just my not so popular opinion. =)
Remnant from the ashes has been on my list for over a year now. After I played it for an hour I knew I wanted to buy it, so I did. But haven't had the chance to fully hop into it yet.
It is 2 games away, almost there. I will be getting through it then I have 4 games after to make a new list. Remnant 2 is going to be somewhere near the top of that. Playing on PS5. I hope the performance is quality across all platforms.
Remnant almost makes me wish I had friends.
For their comment about the story being generic
They have never played Chronos: Before the ashes…. Thats the game before remnant one btw
Ive not seen a story like this before so yeah
And they have also forgotten that the game also has a bit of inspiration from dark souls and those games before soooo expect difficulity period
I am a bit behind, I just picked up remnant from the ashes. I had a hard time getting into souls game until I eventually began elden ring and beat that and now I'm hooked so yea im playing the first game and hopefully liking it and then picking this one up
Once you die sprint back to the last location just ignore the enemies.
A good 3d headset should help with getting the enemy sound from behind
I love how your reviews feel like someone is actually giving me their damn opinion as opposed to like IGN or gamespot where every review is like a middle schoolers writing assignment
On a difficulty scale for soulsborne games where would you rate the first and second based off what you have played
first one was crazy good; everything was done well and the more you played the more apparent it was that "everything felt right".
almost didn't buy it after looking at the reviews on Reddit but looking at the new worlds had me wondering what kind of new mechanics and toys are available. Had to buy once I saw the enemies.
I can tell how Jake feels about a game from the intro
Graphics wise this game blows anything out there right out the water! I can't believe how insane the graphics are! Imagine if a AA game takes GOTY this year with RE4, Diablo 4 and FF16 out? It's gonna be close! has a double A ever been GOTY?
“Hop in with friends and start blasting for a night” 😭funniest first Minute great video
The maps in the first one had me confused on where I needed to go and what to do all the time-- is this one better in that aspect?
I love the first remnant when I found out part two was coming out only on next gen console that is the only reason why I'm buying a PS5 in two days I was waiting to part 2 come out forever
Picked this up on Game Pass and I’ve been really surprised by it
Lots of great gunplay and exploration
Definitely worth a try in my opinion

I absolutely loved the first remnant. Different rewards depending on how you took certain bosses down, which led to some serially long sessions trying to beat the bosses the exact way, randomized boss encounters and souls like combat and saving. The story was light but interesting still, and the different worlds you went to were fun. If Remnant 2 is more of the same, I'd be happy.

I really enjoyed Remnant I. I really enjoyed how alternate methods of defeating bosses gave different rewards. The same goes for certain side quests. I do hope that the RNG is tweaked some. Having to re-roll worlds because I need an amulet or ring for a build that only appears in specific situations on specific maps was more tedious than necessary.
true, the rng for some weapons are borderline ridiculous and we have to use a world reader script to save time.

@@kilgoretrout8896 Game: "Do you see the purple light? You do? Great!! Too bad it's a dupe!"
A big aspect is the procedural generation. Instead of just reorganizing things randomly like most games, the realms actually have multiple map bases on them so things feel fresh. Sometimes you're in the slums in a realm, other times you're in the palace area, there are also multiple stories in each realm so you get a different overall experience every time. It's pretty interesting actually.
Also, why didn't you guys mention this aspect of the game? This is the type of game that needs to have good replayability and it does, but it wasn't even mentioned in the review.
Procedural generation is only good if used properly. Otherwise it leads to soulless games.
Jake does just briefly in the beginning and not as thoroughly as you just did, sometimes Jake seems to focus more on telling the viewer his experience rather than the game itself, which isn’t inherently bad just can leave out some details from time to time
@@tylermaccallum3529 exactly, which is why I wish they would have talked about that aspect a lot more, because that's the thing that sets this game apart from other looter shooters. Fortunately, other reviewers have talked at length about this and it seems it was well Implemented.

Worse optimization than Jedi Survivor.
4070ti and 13700k here, and I ran Jedi Survivor without any problems other people mentioned at 1440p on Ultra.
This game on Ultra, even with DLSS, overheats my GPU and runs choppy. It was a refund for me.
For a solo player, this feels like a total different game. It's at least 3x harder
That's what I love to hear ❤
Normal mode is way too hard solo. I played for about 2 hours and kept dying right at the start over and over. Git gud I know… but I don’t think I’m going to keep playing. It’s just frustrating and the dialogue is so bad I avoided talking to everyone.

Loved the first one, was super happy when they announced this one since I wasn’t expecting a sequel
I don't think any of us were. When they stopped making DLC for the first game, I was rather depressed, because it felt like they were leaving far too much on the table when there was so much room left to expand on what they'd already made. When I saw the news that they were making a _full sequel,_ my jaw dropped.
Holdddd uppp jake where has the starting gameranx noise gone I look forward to it every video 😭
I didn't play the 1st remnant but this part 2, im starting to like it... spent 50+ hours on it already farming special guns etc and constantly rerolling maps.
Remnant 1 is available in game pass
Yup. This game is my GOTY I think. TotK is my 2nd.
BG3 I find boring so. I'm a minority. I played Remnant 1 alot. Played alot of Remnant 2 as well. The level of innovation and changes the devs did with Remnant 2 is mind blowing. The amount of hiding secret stuff is amazing. Builds are super fun. I absolutely see how much the devs cared for their game and very much appreciate they're passion. I appreciate it. I see it all. Remnant 2 is maybe one of the greatest dungeon crawling shooter games ever made. It dogs Destiny 2 man.
I honestly can not accept how The Game Awards are barely acknowledging Remnant 2. LIke wtf is happening in gaming now? BG3!?!?! Are you serious? Game feels ancient. Lol
You are always giving a real gamer feedback without being overhyped. Thank you Jake
Loved the first one, put probably over 100 hours in with my sniper/crit build. One of the issues I had was it being really hard to play solo bc I just get one- or two-shotted by 75%+ of enemies due to how my build was structured, so I'm really excited to see how the build system has improved and evolved. I played it on PS4 with two buddies after it was a monthly game back in Summer 2021, and we loved it so much we bought all the DLC and replayed it a few times. One of the biggest reasons I finally bit the bullet on upgrading to a PS5 recently was to be able to play this game as well with those same buddies (PLEASE indie devs, find a way to do crossplay on co-op first games!).
Beyond pumped to dive back in!
They just announced that they are working on cross play
Skill issue god damn
Remnant from the ashes felt like a love letter to gamers. It truly felt like the devs made the game for fun rather than money. It was one of the few games where i bought the dlc to support the devs rather than serve my own gamer needs. Gunfire games had lightning in a bottle with the first one and Im so pumped that they are seemingly giving us a beefed up version of what i already adored.
I agree! So happy to see so many people give this team the recognition. They really have made, in my opinion, the best co op experience I have had.
Same. I bought the dlc and didn't even really play it, I just wanted to support the game. Amazing and cannot wait for the sequel.
It absolutely is!!! How many games care about how the cloth flows on the armor??? It’s just a testament on the quality of details. (Fukk BalderGate 3 with their cardboard clothing)
I played the shtt out of Remnant, modded it with Remnant from hell, hundreds of hours of actually making my own characters BLENDER to port it into the game. People don’t realize the modding potential is huge with Unreal Engine.

Meh, got bored a few hours in. It was just a janky TPS trying to be a souls like. Seems like the same thing happened here.
Remnant 1 was so bad in my opinion, I mean they gave it away for free on Epic Games at one point lol I don't have high hopes for this one at all, but I'll see what the consensus says before even considering it
Got the first game for free with ps plus… honestly one of the good games that I played… very underrated… looking forward to this one!
I dislike any coop games, because I don't have any friends.

Although the main campaign story is generic, the side stories within each world you explore, notably Losomn (the Bloodborne world), are exceptional. These side stories include; an Asylum filled with a race who are being hunted by a mystical creature in their dreams, NPC’s that request you to track down their lost loved ones, a preacher type character who has tasked himself with saving an entire planet and, depending on your choices, the outcomes may be drastic. To disregard story elements such as these is a disservice to what Remnant 2 has to offer.
My first world was the blood born world I had to re role would not recommend as a level one champaign
Looks like outriders
I really hate all these co-op/team based games coming out all the time, this game looks pretty fun but i have absolutely no friends left to play games with.
I will say that this game is easily playable solo
I decided to give this a try after all of the glowing reviews - I’ve played quite a bit of Elden Ring, so I thought that the ‘souls like’ difficulty wouldn’t put me off. Played about half an hour before running into my first major boss - some sort of sewer blob thing. You have to run around a series of walkways and pillars to be able to get a line of site on it, but if you make one wrong step, you fall off into a sea of millions of smaller blob creatures, and then have to proceed to try and find a ladder in darkness to climb back up to shoot at the boss again. Meanwhile, the boss is firing lasers, homing missile attacks, and homing exploding orbs, all of which deal massive amounts of damage. Every time I got back up to shoot at the boss, I’d get knocked off again a few seconds later, which meant that stuff was constantly dealing damage to me, whilst I was barely able to do any at all.
After about 12 failed attempts and not even reaching half the bosses health, I turned the game off. It’s difficult - but it felt unfairly difficult, to the point where I felt like I wasn’t even having fun anymore.
As a person who avoids souls games purely because of the difficulty, playing with friends is what makes this game fun for me. Coming up with new strats and tactics for the bosses is the highlight of the entire experience.
Try that out if you can.
I thought he was a bit unfair too, my first boss aswell. I did beat him on my second try though. Mostly a gimmick and i figured out all the moves on my first try wasn't so bad on the second. Think you have been taking the easy route in ER.
@@forturet4115 I don't know why people think that going for the masochist option in a Souls game is some sort of badge of honour, and unless you're punishing yourself by making the game far harder than it needs to be, rather than just playing smarter and using the tools at your disposal, like you would ANY other game, then you're not playing it 'properly'? Honestly, it's so cringe.
Like he said in the video, might be a good idea to leave that boss for now and gear up. Player skill is obviously a big part of this game, but so is gear. You can craft up some absolutely ridiculous builds that let you slop your way through bosses. So kinda not unlike Elden Ring in that way.

It's also part of the team aspect. Remnant was really heavily team oriented. Bosses were tanky, there were relentless waves of mobs even in one on one fights, and the weapon system and rogue like world progression giving everyone different weapons and armor options made everything more team oriented. Getting attacked from behind was a part of it all, but it was easier with a team.
It also happens a lot on Remnant from the ashes too

Hells yeah I'm gonna play it! I loved the first one and I'm kinda shocked you guys didn't gut it. Definitely coop is the way to go but playing solo rewards exploration a lot. Thank you guys1

Great idea and all. But imo Remnant: From The Ashes was the ugliest level design I’ve ever seen in a game. The re-use of areas was so immersion breaking that I immediately saw the game as a chore instead of a fun adventure and stopped playing. Great gameplay with utter garbage for a world. This already looks better.
