see now, i think people overlook his thick skin. Was him saying no to playing in philly a spoiled brat move? yes. BUT, the mans got balls ya know, to say that, knowing hed get absolutely flamed takes a lot. i mean hes in the nhl and establishing yourself where YOU want isnt something people can have happen, so good for him for going in the direction he wanted. he basically accepted himself as a target in the leauge. is he going to perhaps be humbled because of how he is? certainly, probably. not saying it was a correct thing to do per say, but he gets too much hate for doing something that SO many players would want to do, say explicitly that they dont want to play on a certain team/team they are on. exciting to see how his prof career unfolds. kids got balls, respect.
When you ghost the gm and president of hockey ops that drafted you along with their scouts like Patrick sharp and John leclair to the point where they would wait for him after BC games and he would never come out, it’s going to heavily rub people the wrong way. Kid is a stud, but he handled this situation poorly. Then again he is 20 years old.
@@jacobjames295 From Cutter's perspective all that stuff with Sharp and LeClair happened after the Flyers had reneged on their promise to give him a roster spot straight out of college and after he told the Flyers he wanted out. Briere fucked up and then tried to put all the blame on Cutter, THAT was handling the situation poorly. Cutter was very clear that he wanted out which gave the Flyers plenty of time to work on a deal and they were able to get a former 6th overall pick and a 2025 2nd round pick for him.
@@LivingNed they never promised him shit. They didn’t want to rush him in to burn a year, rightfully so as they weren’t in any hurry to make playoffs. He got his feelings hurt when he didn’t get what he wanted like he has his entire career. He will be fine but damn he would’ve been loved in philly.

Maybe the Flyers are to blame for this somewhat but when two respected hockey players like John Leclair and Patrick Sharp go to visit you at your college to talk to you and you blow them off and you send your coach like a little bitch to tell them you’re not talking to them.
