- welcome back to the channel. Open ultra league is my favourite league unfortunately its not all that accessible The tip picks are either heavily XL or Legendary mon like Cresselia or Giratina that all cost a ton of resources
However, today, Cutlassboy is using a full non xl team as well as a full shadow team. It's been a hot minute since I've seen a non xl team in the open format.
leading the line with Shadow Gengar with an attack stat of over 200. This thing might lack bulk but hits like a truck. Cutlassboy is running legacy shaodw punch with the yolo hail Mary of focus blast as coverage.
Dark posion is my favourite typing being only weak to ground it is very versatile. Once again, the top.tier picks are xl heavy stuff like Skuntank and the channel mascot Drapion. However, dont sleep on Alolan Mulk!
rounding the team off, we have the ever trustworthy damage sponge the big thick boy shaodw Snorlax.
If you're struggling for resources, this could be a team for you !

My high rank shadow amphoros also has dragon pulse and I also refuse to change it. I actually used an elite TM so my triple shadow team had better coverage against Giratina at that time. Then of course, brutal swing was added the very next season...

This takes me back.. This was my 1st ever team way back in season 1 when I still play (non shadow of course) Basically farm energy with Gengar, swap, save 2 shields then destroy whatever is in the back.
With either sludge bomb or focus blast for coverage when sheilds are down gengar goes to town!

your UL gengar encouraged me to max out my 98 shadow gengar and bring it in ML..its obv glassy but the speed and unexpectedness got me some wins

I want to see that shadow typlosion. I have a shadow typlosion in ultra. I haven't used it in a couple seasons. I used to love s beaming water especially swampert Def one of the goats of booms
I think this season it might be good its unfortunate so many water types are in the meta
I have a rank 1 UL non shadow gengar but he's so squishy...not sure what to pair with him...
Need some answers for the dark types or just focus blast to boom them !
