just found the channel. I like your food rating system. I miss my old series 1 88". did a bit of a restoration on it but sold it before i could enjoy it.
Forgot you were a fisherman, I think a fishing trip with Stu on a mountain lake lead me to your channel! The auction was a nice day out, thanks for taking us with you!
Ha, yer Rob, I am crazy keen for my fishing, one of the reasons I live where I live. I am taking the 109 up to the mountains in April for a week chasing trouts and adventures, should be a good episode . Stu and the Dangar boys came down last week for a few days of mischief, a bit of that in next weeks video :-)
Hi Steve, nice worm day there. Wet and windy here again. Barker is settling in well. My dog would have been trying to pee up everything. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍🇬🇧🥶🌧🌬
Yer Mark, the switch was flicked and it's beautiful autumn weather, my favorite time of the year. Barker is going really well, she is such good company and pretty well behaved for a 11 month old pup.
Good on ya Jacko, good to see you driving some real 4x4's great stuff, got an old 1967 series 2 diesel here in the U.K. great old bus. How's life these days? making me jealous seeing all those old landys down under. All the best Pommie Al.
Holy shit, now there's a blast from the past Pommie Al!! How are you old mate, lost track of you there for a few decades, it's amazing the folks you bump into on the internet. I suspect your bad influence had something to do with my paddock full of Landrovers. Shoot me an email vintagerestorationsaustralia@gmail.com I would to catch up and hear where you got to and what you've been doing, hope you are still throwing fur on the long wand. Cheers Jacko
I agree that the series 1 went for what would be expected - not cheap but not overpriced either. Like you my heart skipped a beat when I saw those tail lights in the box - then dropped down a notch when you turned them over - I have to buy pork pies for my series 1 at some stage and I am not looking forward to the experience and neither is my wallet. I had a chance last year to get a 57 109, but common sense prevailed as I already have enough junk and cars lying around my suburban block in Canberra.
Yer, a box full of NOS pork pie lights would be the unicorn find of the decade :-) I fortunately picked up a decent set in my South Australian haul a few weeks back, they certainly have become super hard to find and fund but they really set of the rear end. Shame about the 109, they are a nice little car to own. Thanks Joe
Ha, yes my mother used to drag me to auctions too (we could not afford 'new' furniture) it created a habit of a life time, such a nice day out though, even if you buy nothing :-)
Hi Steve, that was a good price for a series one, not sure i like the back body, ive tagged you on Instagram, just finished a resto on a series 2A, see what you think buddy , keep the videos coming sir
"Probably worth 15 grand all day" - can you please be a little more accurate with your pricing Steve!!! Amazing. Where do you find out about these auctions?!?!
I'll try a little harder next time David :-) Most regions have auctioneers and most of them sell the odd Landy from time to time. I love a good country auction, always have.

@@VintageRestorationsAustralia That visit didn't even touch on mischief.
Cool, like a bit of mischief and fishing, not necessarily in that order!
Love seeing the beautiful countryside on your drive! Barker a peach!
Thanks Graem, it sure changes as we drive away from the coast up the mountians. Barker sure has grown into a great dawg, she is good company :-)
Lovely video. Brightened up my day.
That's so good, thanks :-)
Crazy prices 🤠
Nice to meet saw Looked like a great day out mate
Ha glad you got that one :-) Always a good day out at a country auction, hope the grass isn't keeping you too busy.

The coffee at the Turkish cafe in Cooma is pretty good.
I'll give it a go thanks Scott :-)
brings back some memories
I spent my childhood at clearing sales while my parents bought all sorts of crap :)
Ha, yes my mother used to drag me to auctions too (we could not afford 'new' furniture) it created a habit of a life time, such a nice day out though, even if you buy nothing :-)
You can’t beat a good day out at a country auction!
That is for sure, a habit of a lifetime for me and it never gets less enjoyable :-)
Pretty accurate guess there mate! Looks like a bargain. 👌
I think it was a reasonable price Martin, not a bargain but not overpriced like many I see (and nothing like the crazy UK prices either).
great vid loved the landy
Thanks Dave, was a good solid little car :-)
@@VintageRestorationsAustralia it was nice and u guessed the right price
The tail lights in the box were fitted to willys trucks
Thanks for that intel, there was a real mix of stuff there,
Old ladies don't leak oil, they simply marking their territory
Indeed Gert :-)
Any idea what the pto sawmill attachment went for? If I was the winner of the ute I would have gone for the mill as well.
No, I didn't watch what the mill went for unfortunatly, it was quite the beast.
Heelo sir, I loke your videos. I also lik Land Cruisers.
Very funny Stu, I lik your landcruiser too
@@VintageRestorationsAustralia I'm amazed old mate didn't bother to charge his battery or brush is rear crossmember. LOL I said rear member.
@@DangarMarine Don't need brakes with a flat battery.
Talking my language there brother. 👍🏼
I think that's about on the money it's not perfect but it's complete and in good Order
Exactly my thoughs Matthew :-)
I would have paid $65 for the Landy manual as well fetch more than that on eBay
The S2 catalogue is strangely hard to find, and super useful for tracking down parts.
