I've been itching for a second gen Camaro for quite a while, and Mr. Larry gave me the opportunity to buy his beloved '79 as long as I brought it back to him for a ride once I got it up and running again. Think we can bring this car back to its former glory to show off for the original owner? Stick around for the transformation!

This teared me up a little, seeing Larry enjoy his old car again. For some folks, a car is just transportation, but for others, it is part of their spirit, or personality. God bless Larry and you Dylan for bringing his Camaro back from oblivion.

What a truly heartwarming video Dylan. The best part was seeing you with the previous owner enjoying the drive together. I hope he found a lot of peace and comfort doing that. Hands down the best resto video I've ever seen. I love hearing your plans for the future with the car. Those old Camaros take me back to my childhood which made it even more special. Great bible scripture at the end too. God bless you Dylan McCool! 🙏

Dylan, I've been doing mechanics for 30+ years. It's rare to come across a car like this. It's something that I feel you should get blessed with over, and over. To see his smile, by itself, makes every minute you spent on it, all worth it. I knew you're a Christian and your folks should be so proud of the man you're becoming. I've admired your work and it's given me a lot of hope for young people. You're a talented young man. I wish my own kids would take notice of how hard you work. I know first hand, how difficult waking an old car up is. There's a lot of different schools of thought about where to take the car. A Camaro of this vintage, deserves a good, healthy small block 400, good cam, a square bore carb, long tubes, maybe rebuild the trans. A good set of aluminum heads, like Brodix or AFR's. But I also get it's your car. Just my two cents. Again, good job on holding up to your end of the deal.

You can genuinely hear that gentleman's voice perk up the more y'all drove around. It clearly gave him some much deserved strength. Don't be surprised if you hear stories from his family about how he talked for days on end about that one simple gesture of a ride on a sunny day. You made your family, fans and followers proud.

I absolutely loved the last two videos on the 79 Camaro. That car is very close to my heart. My first car was a 1978 that had the exact same engine only difference it was a type LT and a four-speed manual. I owned it for six years and took me through high school and college. Keep up the great videos on this car. Would be looking forward to seeing more on it.

Also as a long time F body owner (have had my 88 IROC for 17 years now, first car) it looks to me like you're hooked.
F bodies aren't for everybody, but for some they become a way of life.
Mine was always incredibly reliable also and never let me down before I restored and LS swapped it.

Man, this hits close to home. My mother just passed away, and she had a 79 Ralley Sport, was beautiful. Sat outside for years though, so it was pretty rough. But I got it running for her before she left us, and sadly we sold it down the line to a good friend. Who's mom loves Camaros just as much, so luckily it's at a good home, and we know where it is.
My buddy has been doing the restoration on it for the last few years, and it's really close. Just wish my mom was able to see it done. But she will up in heaven, where she's not in pain any more.
Thanks for another great video, with a sad, but great story, and meaning behind it. God speed Larry.

Dylan. Of the revival videos available on RUclips, this is the most touching one I can think of, this includes my own. I’m glad the previous owner agreed to come on camera. You did a great thing and brought him a day of peace, comfort joy and happiness. You are a good host but an even better person. I’ve done over a dozen revivals in my lifetime and the most special is when the previous owner gets to see their former car they cared about brought back to life. I got a 65 Galaxie from the original owner that received it as a wedding present in lieu of a wedding reception. I Got it in 2009, he got to see me start it for the first time since 1979 and drive it on the trailer. I chose to repaint it to match the 65 Galaxie my grandfather had. Unfortunately by the time I had it back on the road and repainted, the original owner had passed away however the grandson has seen it and took a bunch of pictures and shared it with the family. I wish he could have seen it. I still have it and it’s my power tour plan B. Maybe you’ll bring the Camaro on power tour, I’d love to see it in person. Lastly congratulations on your upcoming daughter. Aaron.

I bought a 4th generation 1st year Trans Am in very good condition for the price I paid. Like your Camaro, my car needs cosmetic cleanup and small repairs. I planned on buying all kinds of performance improvements and putting a little “Lipstick” on the outside. Real is, I only need to get the seat’s fixed to get them comfortable and looking better. Just have fun with it, I’m disabled and truthfully I probably couldn’t do the work anyway. “God Bless You” for the kindness you showed for the previous owner. You are truly a good guy!

Dylan, you are literally my favorite person on the tube. I learn so much from you, and I've been working on cars for 16 years. I don't know everything and never will, but it's so refreshing to learn something new everytime I watch a video of yours. And I love that you are giving life to other vehicles besides mopars. As you see in my picture on here, I have an 80 Z28 which we've owned since April of 94, I was 3 and a half. It's my pride and joy and is a survivor. One day I will restore It, but I love driving it. It's not fast, but it sounds good and it's a fantastic cruiser. So needless to say I'm in love with seeing this car and hopefully see more! I love your Bible verses in each video description too, it's like a daily devotional everytime a new video comes out. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but if you ever want to sell this 79, let me know. I would love to add it next to my 80. God bless brother and take care
**EDIT** We've had multiple 80-81 Z28S my whole life. My dad had a black 81 and a blue 80 and my late mother had a blue 81 Z28 4 speed before I was born. And then in the early 2000s we bought a red 80 with 27k original miles and then in 2013 we bought a grey 81 Z28 with 8k original documented miles that my dad sold in 2015. Needless to say these are my favorite cars and I just love the styling and lines and especially the Z28s with the front lower spoiler and the air induction hood and the stripe kit. Mine is a fairly low optioned car built in Norwood and spent the first 10 years in Marion Ohio and then we bought it in 94 and we've had it ever since. Solid roof car with the deluxe custom cloth interior and the N90 wheels but no ac no t tops none of that.

Wow, watching this video brought back a lot of old memories for me. I was born in 70, first car I bought at 16 was a 77 camaro, learned a lot from having that car. Next 10 years I ended up owning many different years of Camaros, 78,79,80 ,82 Firebird, 86 Iroc, 88 ,89 Camaro sold my last Camaro in 05 when my last son was born and just recently last year bought a 2013 LT with 56k miles on it. That is a nice barn find, hope you enjoy it.

This story made me think of a passage from the John McRae poem "In Flanders Field".
"To you from failing hands we throw the torch. Be yours to hold it high."

@mariacanceri "Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment." ~ Ecclesiastes 11:9
      Stay strong....miracles happen every day.

I would love another 79. I had one back in 90. So hard to find a good one for decent price. Nothing better than being able to get one back on the road and help a sick owner live his dream again. Best of luck on this journey and hope we get to see the man get his wish soon.

You hit it out of the park on this one! A muscle car barn find with style. I think the owner before you was real happy with the work and the ride.

Do not underestimate what a clay bar will do for the paint and remove a lot of crap off the paint. Awesome video Dylan, was terrific to see the original owner get to go for a ride. Was easy to see that he truly loved that car. A really good thing that you did. God is going to bless you for your kindness to him.

Ah yes, back to 79, a good friend bought the same make and model. Food for thought, check the differential. After 2 years, the rear started to grind when it got hot. Doesn't hurt to check.
