You are the only person on here that has the same situation as me! Trying to figure out how to properly wire a 7-pin sleeve when I only have 6 wires bundled up above my spare tire.
This is super helpful. I figured this out just a few days ago when I found a random link online that a guy posted about having to run wires to the plug from your tucked in wires they hide under the hood.. I definitely didn't want to haul the new camper without trailer brakes. Nice job though straight to the point!
Ok my 99 has this wires already running from the front to the back I find this wires folded back on the main harness all I did was connect to the auxiliary and to the power and boom the 7 pin connector works
So this is exactly what i needed to see. But my truck has a blue with a plug and a red with a terminal already crimped on it. Is that red the power that i needed in the first place for my in cab controller. I had run messy wires but wanna go to factory setup. Trying to figure it out.
@@mudbog109 strip the front blue wire (brake controller) for the brake controller that connects to the inside of the cab, strip that wire (blue wire at front of engine bay) which you can find Next to a red wire with a ring terminal on it. Once you strip That wire you connect a 12 gauge wire to the blue connection at the front of your engine bay. Once you do that heat shrink it at the front and run it all the way back with to ur 7 pin connector. Once you do that you connect a 10 gauge wire with a ring terminal crimped at the end of the wire (you have to strip both ends of the 10 gauge wire. one to connect to the terminal ring to connect to the battery positive and the end of the positive side connect to a 30 amp fuse breaker THAT USES HEX NUTS. From here you run another 10 gauge wire from your circuit breaker that uses hex nuts all the way back to your 7 pin copper plug, make sure to electrical tape your brake controller wire and aux wire (red wire) to avoid any confusion. I tried to explain it man sorry if it’s confusing

Excellent video. I have a 2000 silverado so I hope this works for me. Again, thanks for posting this. Saves me a ton of time.
Thank you! I have a 2001 with the same wiring and nothing has showed me how to fix this problem.
Thanks for the video straight to the point no bullshit
What gauge wire did you use for the blue wire which controls the brake controller?
You did good job!
