Great episode. Looking forward to more info about electric motorcycles. They are starting to get some traction here in Norway
We can't wait! Here is my favorite of our e-moto videos to date.

Thanks for the content. I will watch these regularly.
Thank you Diane! We appreciate your viewership and for commenting 😁
@@MissGoElectric We own an R1T and Ioniq6.
Neat. We also have an R1T and a Model S. It is lovely to have such a wide array of options in the EV space. -Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric Thanks, y'all have an R1T Max pack which is really neat. Over 400 miles of range.
Love your quick recaps.
It's a privilege to make them for you. Thank you for watching. -Producer Tim
Another great episode!
Thank you! We appreciate your continued viewership and commenting 😁
Another great ep - well done! Sad news about the FreeWire and they’ve already ripped out their charger near Sydney. Also sad news about Tritium, which will have a big impact here. I’m sure others will step up. Ps tell Lacy to be careful around those sharp edged doors and keep fingers out of the frunk please!
There was some positive electrical news from your part of the world this week related to battery energy storage:
etn.news/buzz/queensland-doubles-stanwell-battery
We are pleased you've joined us in this show and commented. We hope you'll return next week. If Miss GoElectric still has 10 fingers, you can be assured that I relayed your message about the sharp edges.
-Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric thanks Tim good to hear and thanks for the reply! You may not be able to discuss, but what happened to the Inside EVs podcast, it just disappeared one day? Good to have Lacy back with this show!
The final episode of the InsideEVs podcast aired in February. The parent company (Motor1) went through a period of change. The podcast was not gaining much steam and they shut it down. We didn't skip a beat and launched our weekly show with more dense and diverse electrification information the very next week. The Current consistently outperforms the InsideEVs podcast historic statistics in terms of weekly viewership. -Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric excellent work - well done!
Woohoo u came to tenneseee!!! Hope it was good!
We work on projects in Tennessee for a large portion of the year. Great place. -Produce Tim
That was a fun episode, thanks!

After not riding motorcycles for many years, I bought a Zero DSR two years ago. It is a great motorcycle for my use, smooth, quick, and no engine maintenance. I am really enjoying riding it for errands and just exploring back roads.
I would like to see more progress with electric motorcycles, with more range, faster charging, lighter weight, and lower cost. Progress has slowed lately, IMO, but there have been interesting new motorcycles like the Energica Experia and the Livewire Del Mar. When low cost, higher energy density, batteries become available we hopefully will see more progress in electric motorcycles.
E-bikes have been more successful to date, and IMO electric sit-down step-thru scooters will be the next big thing for 2-wheel electrification. The US market has a Vespa 50-cc equivalent model, capable of 25-30 mph. Overseas markets like Taiwan and India have lots of electric options, including 150-cc equivalents capable of 60-70 mph.
Zero was far out front, basically alone, for a long time here in the US. It has been fun to see the offerings diversify here.
Have you seen the Verge?

Can't wait to hear more about the tent.
We filmed the segment yesterday and plan to edit and publish tomorrow. Subscribe and enable notifications to see it when we do.
I'm posting this comment from inside the Basecamp tent, cozy in my sleeping bag now the cicadas are nature's most annoying alarm clock... but they do drive productivity.
-Producer Tim
I hope you have fun getting your motorcycle endorsement. I've found the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's program to be great and took the basic class in 1995 to get my license and later took the advanced class to buikd skills and refresh learning
I just sold our gas motorcycle. I've test ridden an early 2009 Zero S, a Brammo Empulse (6 speed), and a more recent Zero SR/F. The Brammo was sublime, but all were great. Just always priced a little too high.
Do you think the Outset has a good price? Ryvid is headquartered not far from you in Irvine.
-Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric Good price on that Outset, but it's a pretty underspece'd on battery to get there, like an original Brammo Enertia and early Zero S. That 4.3 kWh battery is too small for motorcycle, and that's always been the challenge. Zero did everyone in the industry a solid by carefully disclosing the real world range at various speeds, and it's good to see Ryvid using that in their promotion too.
Those early e-motorcycles and now this new class of smaller, lower spec ones are a good thing, because mobility has to shrink and compromises have to be made. Efficiency and best use of production and operating emissions and resources are what is not yet being critically considered, but will be shortly. That a 14 or 17 kWh Zero still has some range challenges (as far as touring not daily) and costs $15-20k is not Zero's fault. The extremely bad aerodynamics of motorcycles is what causes this value disparity. We should probably be reshaping electric motorcycles like Akira (anime) or Gurney Alligator (yuk), or dustbin Moto GP racers of the 50s if we're going to ride them at highway speeds.
Great that you will be reviewing electric motorcycles
We have reviewed some eBikes which go 45mph, and this will be a rewarding progression.
The reviews will be posted on our sister channel: www.youtube.com/@missgoelectricridereviews
We hope you'll subscribe there.
-Producer Tim
Freewire was the only DC growth we've seen out here in the PNW. Gas stations were installing them frequently. Otherwise, it's the extremely slow and steady status quo for larger sites.
Thank you for sharing your insights from the Pacific Northwest!
-Producer Tim
thanks for the update
Thank you for watching this week and commenting, Tom! 🤓
Nice
Thank you for tuning in this week and commenting! :)
When I watched the episode, I was truly impressed. You've made several appealing changes to the layout, significantly enhancing the background compared to the previous studio setting. The content is much more focused now. My only suggestion would be to add chapter headings, allowing viewers to quickly navigate to topics of interest. I appreciate your restraint in keeping the episodes under 10 minutes each week. I haven't seen coverage of the new electric motorcycle or the brief segment on the airplane elsewhere. However, I'm not a fan of the font used in your opening pages; it reminds me of the Flintstones.
You don't like the Flintstones? Lol
This is the first time our production schedule had us in a location where we could not use a green screen. We lucked out with no rain or wind. There was a cacophony of cicadas, but software was able to mostly eliminate that sound in post production.
We have had chapters on each of the previous nine episodes. I will correct the oversight on this upload now.
Thank you for your constructive feedback.
-Producer Tim
Can't wait to see you reporting from in the air, in an EVTOL!
Just make sure it's been well tested!
We have seen a few on the ground, but we haven't seen one flying in person yet. When we do go to, it will be fully FAA cleared :)
There were a few in this coverage: ruclips.net/video/Emo3x7jKJNg/видео.html

My first EV was a 2007 Vectrix VX-1 highway capable electric Maxi-scooter (step thru motorcycle) I bought new in 2009 on steep discount when the company first went bankrupt. I ended up owning two over the years, best bike I've ever owned, but now I can't give them away as they need new batteries and the support just isn't there. Also, no quick charging so not for road trips, but after driving across the country on a 1000cc cop bike I don't think ANY are for road trips.
Thanks for sharing your experience. We have a friend who has taken road trips with their Livewire but that's really the only time I've heard of a somewhat practical road trip experience since it has fast charging.
I really like the idea of a standard for batteries when it comes to two wheel electric products (gogoro is a good example) so even if companies can't survive, batteries are still available.
So cool to hear your first EV was all the way back in 2007!! 🙌🏼
I could see ranchers using the electric VTOL aircraft and just for fun.
Absolutely. The Ryse Recon is specifically marketed to the agriculture space: ryseaerotech.com/
And the Jetson is similar: jetson.com/
A lot of great use cases for eVTOLs 🤓
Thanks for watching and commenting!
EV Supply Chain Grants are good.
It definitely helps to get the companies that are behind on the right track towards future mobility needs 🙂 thanks for watching and commenting!
Jerry right on but I not sure what you miean.
Its great to have a vibrant comment section. Thanks everyone. -Producer Tim
It's ok right👍😄
Freewire was mismanaged burned through all their capital so the VCs had to find someone to come in and take them over wiping out all shares except for those who managed the company into the ground.
It is a horrible company managed by some of the worst management I have seen in any company I have worked for
We love to see insider insight here in the comments. What more can you share?
-Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric Freewire is owned by another company now, given it was a private company I suppose they didn't need to make that public. But as far as I know most, if not all, employees lost all shares and those who purchased shares saw them go to 0.
Just go look at the glassdoor reviews of this company it was / still is horrendous
Very disappointing to hear about Freewire & Tritium because they make excellent DC fast chargers. Charging operators cannot make profit unless station has a second source of revenue.
It’s identical to gas stations who make money from service mechanics or 7-Eleven, Circle-K, & RaceTrak make money from impulse, high profit food items.
Indeed. The companies who are vertically integrating and lowering manufacturing costs are staying a float. I'm sure there will be more companies that face hardship in the coming year.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 🤓
IMHO, keeping the EV motorcycle channel and EV car/truck channels separate enables viewers to gain information they desire more easily. I would not dilute “The Current” with e-bike news.
We have a separate channel @missgoelectricridereviews which contains about 100 eBike reviews we have published so far. Most eMobility content resides there. We do not cover EVs on that channel though. Anything that requires a license or operates on the highway fits best on this channel. That said, motorcycles will represent a proportionally small slice of our coverage on The Current which also includes battery technology, facilities, EVs, and policy changes. We hope you'll continue to find great value in our ten minute weekly series. -Producer Tim
Lots of EVTOL news!!! 🗞️
Every few weeks we incorporate EVTOL updates. Last time we talked about Jetson, Ryse Aerotech, and Supernal. -Producer Tim
After getting my E motorcycle. ruclips.net/video/fBJw5NPAEXw/видео.html. I sold my Kawasaki ZX11 ruclips.net/video/WsGRv6IBkiQ/видео.html and solar charge it after every ride.
Wow how cool! Thanks for sharing 🤓
