  • Experience the 3DConnexion's SpaceMouse Enterprise in ZBrush as I take you on an hour long journey. I will demonstrate why the SpaceMouse is a must have device for ZBrush and why I returned it. It's an interesting story full of twists and turns. It's long, unedited, and hopefully provides new useful information about the device not found elsewhere. Enjoy.

Hello Adam, yeah unfortunetelly i noticed that bug as well on my perpetual 2023.2.2. After change to older version, on 2023.0 reducion of subdivision while moving by space mouse works - but i noticed that on farer perspective almost all looks smoth, but when i zoom to the model it starts laging even on few milions poly. It happens for you as well?

Unfortunately I returned the spacemouse so I can't test it to confirm but I Didn't notice any performance issues with it in the Zbrush versions that it did work correctly with. One thing to consider is system performance. ZBrush really isn't designed to render the entire canvas at 60fps but it certain can depending on the resolution of the canvas and the CPU and it's core count. If it starts lagging when zooming in, it could be because of CPU performance. As you zoom in you're asking the CPU to render more pixels and at 60fps. Rendering a high resolution document at 60fps (as you Pan/zoom/rotate) may be challenging for some lower core count CPUs . I dont know your systems specs but it's one thing to consider.

@@fxadam Ahh i see, thank you for the answer. To be honest im not sure if thats CPU problem, i use AMD Ryzen 5 7600X which was purchused last year. Also when i rotate my viewport by mouse everything seems smooth, just on my spacemouse the viewport lags. Its quite annoying and by fact i jumped to zbrush from blender where my spacemouse runs perfectly i feel a bit disapointed about it. Dont know what to do now :(

Also a good trick.. Freeze the display! with the lock button in zbrush. it will then ignore your pen hand which is good. then only the space mouse will do your viewport… and make things much easier
