Keto Bacon Mayo | How to make Bacon Mayonnaise for Keto or Carnivore at home!

- Keto Bacon Mayo is so fast and easy to make! It's economical and you control what ingredients to use so you can make this completely Carnivore or Keto compliant.
Ingredients: 2 egg yolks, 1/2 c bacon grease. Anything else is optional such as salt, pepper, mustard, ACV or lemon juice.
One way to make it more spreadable when cold from the fridge is to sub out some of the bacon grease for MCT oil. Not 100% carnivore but makes it easier to use.

Thankyou for watching!
Wee tip...put your jar on a wet cloth so it doesn't slide around 😊
Hubby's on Carnivore to deal with an autoimmune disease and just found out he can't have any dairy or mustard... but bacon and egg yolks are good so THANK YOU for this recipe. I'll be mixing some up this week.
love the way you edit your videos. so funny!! great job on recipes and editing
I'm new here. I really love your style. I watch and listen to Dr. Berry and a few others and appreciate their medical information, but as far as cooking, thank you so much for your channel. I can't see eating ribeyes every day. Your information gives me options to try on my journey. Bless you, Anita.
I might have a rib eye once a month, who can afford it these days!?
@@KetogenicWoman I'm glad to know there's hope of success without tons of steaks.
@@KetogenicWoman I go to my local meat market and get the whole piece which runs between 130-150 but you end up with around 15 or more steaks so it averages around 8-9 for a huge 1 1/2 steaks. I have a food sealer so I have steak for many meals it saves me $ in the long run.
Girl, you are my new home channel. You are AMAZING! Love you! ❤️ your pro tips were mind blowing. Keep it on the runny side, talking about the real problems with making the Mayo too thick, keeping that “jar mistake” in the video - that separates you from others. Off the chart relatable AND expert.
haha, yeah I want people to know that mistakes are not mission critical! They are fixable and our best way to learn going forward. I appreciate your comments and Thanks so much for watching!
I strain my bacon grease into a small mason jar that has a coffee filter rubber band with a small slope works great. Change filter each time. Store there too
Great tip!
Hi dear, just to say if i add just a couple tbls of olive oil/oil it pretty much stays spreadable, like my garlic butter, ❤🙏🙏🙏
Just did this and the first thing I did was to check the opening of the jar. Good lesson. Most fruit jars are to small but there is large mouth fruit jars around.
Even one year later ...
I'm new to keto and you today, sharing your video with my daughter. You still are influencing others for the better.
Thx 🌷
I've been meaning to try this. I don't understand why mayo companies don't jump on bacon mayo (clean!) bandwagon. I can see it being something keto and non keto-ers would be interested in and I would think it could be done and not cost an arm and a leg!
Lack of shelf life, I suppose.
I agree, seems like a lost opportunity to me!
Tried it. Love it. Thanks.
first time viewing.. I like that you include foibles and near-misses, taking it all in stride & momentum.
it makes cooking process more approachable.. thanks for being 'real'.. :)
Since I started making my mayo I won't go back to store bought. It's so easy! Thanks for another version to try!
You are so welcome!
AGREE. It is sooo easy to make you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Use fresh eggs so it lasts longer. Consider the date on the egg carton as your use by (or close to) date.
I make “regular” mayo and would love to try this. Can’t imagine having enough bacon fat lol. . . But will for sure remember this recipe. Tip: I love to use mustard powder instead of mustard. I get it in a big container which makes it super thrifty. Can’t believe the great flavor punch I can add to foods with a one ingredient powder. Thanks for sharing! And congrats on your amazing weight loss!! 🎉🎉🎉
So it was good with just the yokes and the bacon grease?! :) I want to try it but my mind can't compute. Just turned carnivore on 6/11. :) I DO like to dip my burger patties in mustard (only 1 teaspoon for 2 patties), but I'd love some mayo for roast beef. :) And I have mustard powder too! :) Glad I kept the mustard & spices! Found out at the last minute, that some can be re-introduced. :) They are SO expensive it was the only thing I didn't get rid of! :)
Loved your video of a REAL cooking experience, wrong jar and all! 😊 I've been using Hellmann's but looking forward to making bacon fat mayo and this was the perfect video to watch before I do, thank you so much!
Wow! So glad I found you!!! I love your easy going way and your recipes seem so easy. Started doing carnivore a few months back and now I can spice up my recipes perfectly! Thank you for your time and energy you put into your videos!!
Nice to 'meat' you!
For those of you with eye issues, getting rid of seed oils will make a difference. Improved 5 lines on the eye chart. If you are already keto/carnivore it's not a hard jump to eliminate ALL seed oils. even those in prepared sauces.
I started making bacon on my little George Foreman Grill (I know, I stopped using it so much when I wanted to eat the fat). The little catch container for the grease part is great because the bacon grease is smooth and doesn't burn or have pieces of bacon--unless you want pieces of bacon. 5 folded pieces of bacon fit on the small one. Perfect for breakfast.
I regret getting rid of my George Foreman! I originally bought it for those skinless boneless chicken breasts (blech!) but now I realize I could use it for other things too!
You had me @ Bacon Mayo! New to your channel just this am! Your BBBE bread popped up on my playlist. Just SUBSCRIBED! The rest is history! Cannot wait to try this. I knew I was saving my bacon fat for a good reason. 😉
Blessings from Iowa, L
Thank you and welcome to my world!
Thank you for explaining things in regards to what using bacon grease will do to the consistency once it’s chilled. Now I can attempt to make my first ever mayo with a bit more confidence.
Thanks so much for watching!
The lid on the jar is adorable! I just made this and it came out pretty good. Thanks !
I like it too, especially now that I'm adding a bit of MCT oil to make it so it doesn't harden in the fridge.
I like the sincerity!
Thanks so much for watching!
I can hardly wait to make your keto/vore mayo - it looks and sounds grrreat! Thanks for the link to the bacon grease collection container - I think that will be a little birthday gift to myself ;-) Yours in Gratitude
Looks so much prettier than a jar of grease on the counter! Thanks for watching!
New subscribers here! I am looking forward to trying this recipe, and watching more of your carnivore videos! Keep them coming!
Thanks so much, watch for a new one today!
I am subscribing. I am thrilled to of found you today. I am having burger tonight and this is perfect I have to go to the kitchen now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Blessing.
Welcome!!
I look forward to your new videos. I loved the bloopers.
lol, I think most people miss the bloopers which might be good because some are embarassing!
For starters, I would have a bigger jar because by the time you get all your ingredients in and you put that immersion blender in there, it’s going everywhere cause you didn’t leave much space for error
Newbie to carnivore world and love your content
Welcome! and thank you!
I went looking on YT for this and there were many videos, but I choose YOU!!! Thx, Anita!
Aww thank you so much! I so appreciate that! 💗
I just made this this evening... very nice!
Enjoy!😊
I'll try this out! Been wonderin how to do this for quite a while.
I'm so glad you posted this today, as I've been thinking about starting to make my own for some time now. We've always used Hellman's as well- "Best Foods", depending on which part of the states you're in- they are one & the same. Anyhow, bacon fat is what we seem to have the most of, & I really do think it would be better for us to get the last of the bad oils out of our diet. Same goes with our favorite coffee creamer- which I'm still working on a replacement for- neither are very 'clean' at all. We've been working so hard to get inflammatory foods out, I imagine it can only help.
The coffee creamer is definitely the hardest, oh my word I feel like I've tried everything! Nothing comes close yet- even making it myself w/heavy cream & hazelnut extract, etc. Here we thought we were doing so good all these years, buying the sugar free CoffeeMate~ until I really studied that ingredients label~ errgghh.
Thanks so much for posting, we truly enjoy your channel =) Daniel & Samantha Whitson/AZ
It's defnitely been a process and an evolution for me. I used to consume things I wouldn't now and it's important for people to remember where they came from and all the changes they've made and be proud of that. One day you will make that decision on the creamer too! I NEVER thought I would enjoy black coffee. And now I even rarely drink it. I gave it up completely in February, got the dependancy out of my system and have a cup of black on a lazy weekend morning and that's about it! One step, one thing at a time!
Great video!
Today must be mayo day for me, going to try this mayo recipe right now…it’s got to be good!!! Thank you so much for your recipe!
Hope you enjoy!
@@KetogenicWoman Thank you very much! It turned out wonderful! It’s in the fridge cooling and thickening… Can’t wait to try it on something other than a “tasting” spoon! Lol
Was thinking of making bacon grease mayo & my 1st thought “Anita will have a recipe vid! Yay & you do! 🎉❤ thanks!
You are so welcome! One tip would be to add 1-2 tbsp water to it near the end of mixing. I have found this makes it more spreadable out of the fridge!
@@KetogenicWoman I’ll do it next time, I already have it mixed up. Or perhaps when I take it out to use when it softens up I’ll add the water to it. Thank you again!
I just made this mayo and it is absolutely fantastic. I made mine with garlic, lemon juice yummy yummy yummy🎉
I wanna try this with garlic and cilantro.
I just saw a recipe for mayo on serious keto. He used a hack to make it last longer by mixing yokes, water, acid and the like in a bowl, then cooking it in microwave to 165ish degrees, stirring every ten seconds. Not to cook them. He then stained for any small bits. I prefer your ingredients but thought i may use the egg hack when ever i get a proper kitch and try all these great recipes of yours. Thanks all you do!
Interesting I will have to check that out!
It's a hack to make it last longer in the fridge, like a pasteurization of sorts.
I only make at the most a quart at a time, and that's when I'm making chicken salad so I know I'm going to use the bulk of it right away. I rarely have more than a pint, so I go through that within a week or two. Also keep in mind, the expiration date is whatever the date is for the eggs you're using.
Look up how to pasteurize your eggs if you are concerned about raw egg. It's super simple and I think it is hard to get a microwave to cook evenly. Heat your water. Eggs at room temp. (If you are doing the whole doz it will change the temp, but 2 eggs won't) Put them in the water for the required amount of time for the water heat. Take then out with a slotted spoon. Make the mayo.
@@laurahudson8210 I just buy the freshest eggs, and even if I have half dozen of other eggs, I use the freshest for the mayo and put the egg date on the jar. I've eaten it for a week after the date tho...
Thank you so much! Everything is so expensive anymore and "why not" make your own ,esp. if you have the bacon fat handy! Appreciated! 💐
I think this sounds great. That Chosen mayo is pretty expensive, so this is good alternative.
Thank you so much for this video! I started carnivore 3 weeks ago after 2 years on Keto from 2 years of just counting calories. I lost 80 lbs counting calories and 10 on keto. I needed to change to see if I can lose the last stubborn 20 lbs and so far I am down 5” off my body and 4lbs on carnivore! I am southern and love mayo so off to the kitchen to create, just subscribed to your channel, ty again for the step by step, much appreciated!!
Oh, add 1-2 tbsp hot water to the mix! I actually just tried that a couple days ago and it makes the mayo way more spreadable! And thanks for subscribing!
At first I thought it looked too runny until you explained how it hardens in the fridge, which totally makes sense. Thank you…can’t wait to try this recipe.
Lately I've been adding a tbsp water into the mix near the end and it helps with spreadability once it does harden up in the fridge!
I make my own mayo but anxious to try the butter and bacon one, thank you so much for all your recipes
You are so welcome! I have now perfected the recipe by adding 1 tbsp MCT oil to the mix (for both the bacon mayo and butter mayo) This keeps it spreadable straight from the fridge!
@@KetogenicWomanperfect!! Thanks!!!
Thanks 💗
I have made my own bacon mayo too. Mmmmmm. TFS. Looks yummy. ❤️❤️
Very yummy!
This is great - now I know another use for all the yolks I'll have from maling egg white noodles and bread - just have to eat more BACON! I can't wait to have a BLT with my garden tomatoes!
Now I'm craving a BLT, lol!
Very nice, will try it. Thank you!
You are welcome 😊
Considering she has lost over 100 lbs..she has done great her way. Way to go.
Thank you!
Haven't worried about raw eggs for 50 years, whether store bought, homegrown, or farm purchased. Never had a problem. YMMV.
I don't either, I don't generally pasteurize, but have done so occasionally for some recipes It is SUPER EASY to pasteurize. All you need is a pan of hot water, a thermometer and a timer, especially if you are only doing one or two eggs. If you are doing a dozen it is a bit harder because cold eggs cool the water and change the temp. I did pasteurize when I used my mayo this past summer for a BBQ because there were children who might be eating it and I thought they may be more susceptible to salmonella--just to be safe.
I'm going to try this👍
God bless you ❣️🌹🙏
Thanks for watching, hope you like it!
Donall ingredients besides the greese first.
Then while younare blending, slowly add the grease little at a time
Also make sure the egg yolk is room temp
We watch you all the time
Thank you!
Thank you, delicious 😋
My pleasure 😊
Hi KW we are still loving your episodes. We really enjoyed this one, especially the slo-mo adamant $10.99 stunner ha ha.
And we are wondering, where do you buy the nice red "grease" cannister?
Looks like that's a perfect way to keep it. I'm also to ask if you have a cookbook out, or planned & when it will be available!
Thank you for all your kind words and especially for appreciating my weird sense of humor! That container came from Amazon Canada but if you are in the US I provided a link to something similar there, they didn't seem to have the exact one. I don't have an official cookbook, just some ebooks on my website on the Shop page. They contain recipes that are keto from before I started playing around with carnivore. Maybe some day I will have an actual book on Amazon, who knows!
Oooouu I will be making this !!!
Enjoy! (PS adding 1-2 tbsp hot water makes it more spreadable I have found!)
Looks great! I can’t wait to try! I do have a few questions. First, do you have any videos that show the mayo being used in or on something once it’s been refrigerated 🙂 I’m curious to see the consistency after it’s been refrigerated. Second about how long is the bacon mayo good in the fridge? And last is there a reason you use such expensive mustard? From what I’ve seen mustard is usually has pretty clean ingredients but maybe I’m missing something? Thank you for your wonderful videos!
I don't at this point but it's definitely on my to do list!
I try to use it up within 2 weeks. As to the mustard, I did Whole30 a few months ago and have a fridge full of condiments I bought for that. So just trying to use things up. You are correct, most mustard is pretty clean, the other condiments not so much!
@@KetogenicWoman thank you! Looking forward to more videos! ❤️
Thanks for this video! I’m excited to try it. I’ve been using the Hellman’s Mayo which has gmos in addition to soybean oil. I’m definitely reacting to something in it and I refuse to pay so much for the “good stuff” lol!
I have an updated recipe to make the mayo more spreadable after being in the fridge: ketogenicwoman.com/how-to-make-carnivore-mayonnaise/
@@KetogenicWoman right on my friend,perfect I'm making today😊❤🙏🙏🙏
@@KetogenicWoman thanks so much I’ll check it out 😁
Hellman's has a lot of weird stuff in it these days.
So glad I'm not the only one that chose the wrong and to start with!😁
haha, you are not alone! 😂
Keto again...for me. Menopause also. Just subscribed. Im finding lots of new channels when I put it bacon mayo ideas.
Glad you found my channel! Thanks for watching!
I ended up putting my bacon mayonnaise into little silicone table spoon molds because it's really hard to get out of the fridge when you have Bacon fat in it
That's a great tip!
@@KetogenicWoman would you be able to freeze little servings of the mayonnaise that way if you don't use it right away you don't have to toss it?
I make mine with a bit of roasted red pepper in it..yummmmm so good..
Sounds great! yum!
Thank you for all your ideas..I really appreciate it..and your yummy recipes!!!
@@texasgrannieof2 You are so welcome! And I get great ideas from you all as well, like this one!
May I ask about your comment during the video about pepper? I gave up black pepper because it was causing me to have skin itchiness--took it out of my diet and the itching went away. Cayenne doesn't cause the same problem. But I never thought to try substituting white pepper for the black. Did you have a specific reason for your comment? I'm new to your channel and haven't had a chance to look through your other videos to see if I can find the answer. I'm very much enjoying the ones I have watched!
Yes I do have a reason! I weaned myself off of 15 years of PPI meds for acid reflux/GERD about a year ago. But have been suffering with symptoms on and off. This is why I started to look at meat only, because I heard it can be healing. In March I did a 30 days of only beef, lamb and salt (there's a video on this grocery haul and meals where I show what I ate) and I had ZERO symptoms until one night I decided to make oxtails and put a lot of pepper on them and I suffered for 2 days. I found out that black pepper is very high in oxalates and white pepper is not. So I'm avoiding black pepper. Your comment about cayenne was interesting and I might try some to see how it affects me. Thanks for watching!
True carnivore eliminates all spices - the only seasoning should be salt.
@@googleuser2226thanks for pointing this out for purists, however we all need to individualize to make diets work for us. If you can't stand the taste or it's bland and boring, most of us won't stick to it. If it works using spices then where's the harm? Each must make their own choices. : )
@@janp7660 it’s not about being a purist. If people are following a carnivore diet for medical reasons, using spices negates any healing element.
@@KetogenicWoman thank you for this. I love black pepper, and have been using it a lot lately, but did not know they were so heavy on the oxalates. I'm wondering if that's why I have been having this hangover-type feeling? I will try switching to the white pepper to see if it makes a difference.
Hi Nita Chris from carnivore puts egg whites in last so doesn't go hard show us this little tip 👍thanks
Yes, this is a super old video! I do make my mayo like Chris's now 🙂
Thanks Anita. I still use Hellmans about 2 or 3 times a month. I'm aware of the bad oils in it and that's why i use it sparingly. I can't stand the PK & Chosen Food avo mayo, it has a metal taste to me. I've made the butter mayo. I will try the bacon grease mayo.
Wait, before you try making another mayo, be sure to use the technique in my written instructions, I learned this from ChrisCookingNashville! It's a gamechanger for the final texture: ketogenicwoman.com/how-to-make-carnivore-mayonnaise/
I don't really like the taste of Chosen either, although it keeps well if you use it to make Caesar Dressing--and the anchovies completely overpower the taste of any mayo.
My mayonnaise has been hit or miss sometimes but when it’s when it’s good it’s really good but often times like it doesn’t come out thick enough I guess. This is the first time I have tried bacon fat and I will see how it turns out
The only thing about this mayo is how hard it can get in the fridge. The last time I made it I added 1 tbsp MCT oil to is and then it was spreadable even when cold.
I have the same stove as you.
Thanks! Have you ever tried making this with beef (hamburger, for instance) drippings instead of bacon grease?
No, but I'm thinking it could work!
Great idea! I have some duck fat I might try. Chicken might also taste good.
I use the whole egg when i make it. Ive only used the olive oil so far but am saving bacon grease to try this. The mustard helps it congeal together better? What the word is I'm missing. I also use lemon juice and it helps with that overpowering oil taste...try it you may like it. ALSO PEOPLE if it doesn't coagulate together do not toss it out...the oil you use can get very expensive. Just add another egg and beat it again or put it in the fridge to let it chill and blend it again or both.
These are great tips! Also a failed batch is excellent to use a marinade or sauce for chicken or fish!
Yeah, if you Google failed mayo, you will come up with some directions on how to save your failed mayo. Which basically is you start over with a fresh egg and your failed mayo is your oil. The mustard is important to help it emulsify. Any cheap clean mustard will do.
Do you use Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil? I find that doesn't impart a strong flavor.
But the recipe doesn’t call for olive oil, just bacon fat for the oil….
Hey Anita! Quick question…when you put it in the refrigerator, did it get hard or did it stay spreadable?
Sadly it got hard but I still used it all up. If you want it to be spreadable from the fridge, I have found that adding 1 tbsp MCT oil to this makes it spreadable. But it's a tradeoff if you are carnivore. For me I'm more likely to use it if it's spreadable and it's so much cleaner than anything you can buy from the store. So I accept the tradeoff for myself.
Where did you find your bacon grease container..it is awesome
Amazon! amzn.to/3tuWxvP
I’ve tried this, it IS better than all the other recipies I have found, I still miss that mayo taste.
But I don’t want soy or canola oil, both are terrible for you. I’ll have to adjust my taste buds I guess✌️
Taste buds do change!
You could mix with olive oil if you are not fully carnivore. There are also butter recipes but I think they taste too much like butter on your sandwich to me.
I love the grease container. Is that online anywhere?
I did put a link in the description part of the video but it's a different model. This one came from Amazon Canada. But check it out, it's similar. I used to have an unsightly jar of grease on the counter, I like that it looks a little nicer!
You can make your own mustards too.
Sounds great....However perplexed that you are still using a microwave since that is known to negate the natural benefits of food!!!! Thank you for the very helpful video. I will try it!
Love your channel ❤️👍
This recipe is very good. I do have to alter it a little, I can't use vinegar so I opted for lemon juice and mustard powder. Turned out great. I also love green olive burgers so I added some chopped olives and I use it on more than burgers.. yummy. Thanks so much for sharing. Blessings from a non-compliant great grammie in Michigan ❣️
Sounds great!
Great information I enjoy green olives as well. Blessings from one non-compliant great grammie to another from Montana.
I always add mustard powder; kicks it up a notch!
What do you mean by non-compliant?
@@tspears53 to me it means using your head and your heart to figure out what you need rather than just blindly obeying dictatorial controlling people and their rigid rules.
If you don’t have an immersion blender can you use a hand mixer instead?
Yes, I've used the whisk attachment on my electric handheld mixer, works great!
Normally, acid and yokes are zapped together, THEN the fat is added. Try it that way and see what you think!
Ok I will! Love learning good tips from others, thanks for watching!
Could you use lard instead of the bacon grease for the mayo?
I think at this point I've tried almost every fat. If you use this basic formula I've kind of fine tuned the mayo to stay spreadable: ketogenicwoman.com/how-to-make-carnivore-mayonnaise/
Are everyday regular old cheap eggs from Walmart or general grocery store ok to eat raw in the US?
I don't know, check the package. Here where I live all the eggs I buy are pasteurized.
How cool. I'll have to get some bacon lol
When I first saw the title of the video I did a double take....bacon grease....really ???? But just bought some Primal Kitchen avocado mayo this morning ($$$) and when I tasted it, did not care for it. Need to make my own, clearly.
So I went running back to your videos to find the bacon mayo (and then I googled it to see if it was "a thing".....who knew?! ) Will have to try this. I trust your recommendations. Haven't steered me wrong yet. And "almost free" sure beats $$$.
Hope you enjoy! I don't really like the avocado mayos either. The only store bought one that I like is the Chosen Foods Keto mayo but very pricy! So I do both that and the homemade one, so there is always a mayo in the fridge!
Not a fan of Primal Kitchen Avoc Mayo so got some of the Chosen Foods. Better but not great....so I diluted it 2/3 to 1/3 bacon grease....BINGO! Much better, much cheaper and something I can do in a pinch.
@@deborah2592 Good idea, I'll have to try that!
I ❤️ bacon mayo!
And I've done the same thing~stick doesn't fit in vessel...arrrrggghhh!
lol, so happy I'm not alone in that!
How long can you keep it in the fridge with the raw eggs?
I prefer to use it up within a week. So make a half recipe instead of the whole recipe. These days I use 3 yolks to 1/2 cup bacon grease (or any other fat), and that keeps the amount smaller as well as it is spreadable from the fridge. ketogenicwoman.com/how-to-make-carnivore-mayonnaise/
Just curious how long all this mayonnaise be good for in the fridge? I love mayonnaise but the rest of the family doesn’t so not sure I would use it before it would go bad. Don’t get me wrong I’ll still make it LOL but want to know how long it’s safe for. Thanks so much! You rock
It's a really good point because I only use it up to 2 weeks. I try to plan it out when I know I'll be needing mayo for example in some recipes or making a dip.
I always made egg salad on the day I made mayo, which always uses quite a bit. I ate it wrapped in lettuce leaves.
On a previous RUclips video, I don’t remember which one, they said to go by the freshness date on your carton of eggs.
However long past that date that you feel comfortable is good.
@@tspears53 freshen date on eggs is in the shell... not out. Out they start oxidizing.
I 'pasturize' my eggs by slow cooking them to 165°F for mayo, ice cream etc... I do a giant batch at once for everything & makes it convenient.
I make everything in the blender & have never found a clump of the nearly cooked eggs in any product.
My mayo lasts 3-4 wks... IF it lasts that long 🤓
@@PinkLady54 How long do you slow cook the eggs at 165?
how long will this stay 'fresh' in the fridge? I don't think you mentioned, and can't find anything in the comments, but I could have easily overlooked it.
I try to use it up in about a week. Not sure of an exact time but that works for me.
I go by the freshness date on my eggs since that is the only perishable ingredient you’re working with.
As if I really care (I say that Mr. Leviticus didn't have very good taste buds!!!), can this be made with fat from beef bacon?
I would LOVE to find some beef bacon around here! Even though I have not tried it myself, I'm going to say YES because mayo can be made with any fat. The taste will of course be different and you can season accordingly. Would love to know how it turns out for you!
How long is this good for in the fridge?
I have used it for up to 2 weeks, not sure I would go longer than that.
I have a question. In this video you use 2 egg yolks but in the printed version it says 3. Which works better, 2 yolks or 3?
Thank you!
The printed version is the latest, this video is old! The extra egg yolk makes it more spreadable from the fridge.
@@KetogenicWoman Thank you for the quick reply. I'll be making this this week. I really appreciate all that you do! ❤
How long does bacon grease last?
I'm assuming you mean on the counter? I normally clean out my grease container once a month and put it into a jar in the fridge. Apparently in the fridge it can last a long time, like 6 months. I tend to use it up faster than that though.
You work in the kitchen the same way I do - flying by the seat of my pants!
I do get annoyed when homechefs on RUclips do everything perfect as if they are Martha Stewart or Rachel Ray. When you are doing everything yourself (maybe even the camera work as well) you are not going to get everything right.
But as Stewart Smalley says, "And that's... O.K."
haha, thank you! I'm comfortable with my ways and glad that most people seem to not only enjoy it but can relate to it! Thanks for watching!
Ok now I have to find a grease jar like that
I love your bacon fat canister
Can you please make another video for making pure carnivore bacon mayo
This was a pretty relaxed version of carnivore wasn't it! Yes, I need to accumulate some good salty bacon grease for that!
@@KetogenicWoman thank you so much let me know when posted
Your link to bacon grease container? Is. Not working
It's probably not available anymore. There's a whole page of them here: amzn.to/45jqqCW
My Bacon-Mayo came out bitter and gross. Twice. With different bacon grease. What am I doing wrong?
I honestly don't know! Maybe it's one of the other ingredients?
Can I use beef tallow instead of bacon grease?
I am sure you could! Any type of fat really can make mayo!
@@KetogenicWoman cool thank you I’m excited
Is it not unsafe to use raw egg?
I am 100% comfortable with it but people should research it and then decide what they are comfortable with.
What does it taste like, no one ever mentions the flavor?
It tastes like bacon first, mayo second! The only thing is that I didn't like how hard it gets in the fridge so now I add 1 tbsp MCT oil and that keeps it spreadable from the fridge.
I just subscribed under this youtube name also. I also have althea mcnabb. I made this one hoping it would help me get back on the keto way of life and head towards carnivore. The inflammation in my knees and lower back are horrible. I keep this name on my laptop and the other on my landline computer and I get them two confused now. I get onto a channel and start yapping to someone I've watched forever and they have no idea who I am under this new name...
Thanks for watching!
SOMEONE SNEEZED! I said, "God bless you to the screen." YEAH!!!
lol!
How long can we store this in the refrigerator?
I would say 10 days max. I usually make 1/2 recipe these days. BTW, tomorrow I have a video going live where I make a similar mayo that is 1/2 bacon fat and 1/2 butter. It's my favorite so far!
@@KetogenicWoman Awesome! I have those ingredients. ;).
Guess it’s perfect timing for me to discover this video and your channel.
