  • "One of the big questions I get after BBL surgery is 'Hey doc, what happens when I gain or lose weight. Am I going to lose all of the money I invested into by buttock?'
Well, let's go through this example.
Whenever you gain or lose weight, the body maintains its appropriate shape. It's just that it's getting bigger and it's getting smaller when you lose weight. But your shape remains the same. Same volume in the waist, and a little bit more volume in the buttock.
The whole trick really is to get this particular fat cell to survive. So, remember, I'm getting about a 60 to 70% survival rate. I'm transferring the fat to the buttock. Then, I'm trying to put as many fat cells as I can back there because I'm trying to increase the forest that you have.
Therefore, one of the biggest things is clearing out fat from areas that we don't like. Which is the waistline. That's what I'm trying to demonstrate here. If you take a look at the example, the vast areas of trees are removed. And I've moved all these trees to the back. Those trees that were in the front are gone. They will never come back.
So, when you lose weight, all of the leaves of the trees that you have come off. But when you gain weight, those leaves come back. The forest remains dense. Take a look at the example here. The body is changing in size. But the shape remains the same. You always have a smaller waist. And you always have a fuller buttock.
It's not that the fat cells are disappearing. It's remaining there. It's just getting bigger or smaller.
The entire purpose (as I stated) was to get that individual fat cell to survive. The survival is going to depend on your fat quality. The resistance of the fat. How good of a muscle you have in that area. And we're going to transfer as many of these cells as we can into the buttock zone hoping that this will end up surviving.
We have to give it 3 to 6 months to see how many of the fat cells survive. And then after that, those fat cells should live forever (those particular fat cells that I transferred). This is my theory. It is not proven scientifically. But it think it may over time.
The bottom line is: When you gain or lose weight, you maintain your body shape. There are always more trees in the back than the front. And you end up getting some really great results.
Let me explain it a different way. Your fat cell will get bigger or smaller as you gain weight. But the fat cell is always there. It doesn't disappear and then all of the sudden come back. It just gets bigger or smaller.
    Why is that?
Because genetically, you were predisposed to place these fat cells in different parts of your body. So the fat making machine only occurs at two stages in your life.
Stage #1: Is in the very beginning when you were in your mother's womb and you were at 3 months and during her last trimester of pregnancy. That's when you started to grow some fat cells.
Stage #2: The second time you grow fat cells in puberty.
After that, the fat cell making machine will completely shut down and you can no longer make new cells. That factory is closed. But genetically, your body was told where to put that fat, so some people have more fat around their bellies. Some people have more fat in their legs. Some people more in their arms. It just depends on your genetics and where it went.
Now that fat cell factory can no longer open. The only way you can open it is by becoming morbidly obese (and we don't want to go there). How morbid? We don't really know. But the thing is, when you start to pass a BMI of 40, you're at an increase likelihood of developing more fat cells. And that's the only time you can reopen the factory. But otherwise, that factory remains closed. So when I take that fat cell and I remove it, that fat cell is gone.
Now, I take that fat cell and I'm going to place it right in the derriere (or I can put it in your pectoral muscle, breasts, calves, etc. Wherever I put this fat cell, if I can get this fat cell to live, then it's going to live forever.
Remember, you gain - you lose.
That's what happened to that fat cell. But you've always got (take home message) more trees in the back. You have no trees in the front. Your shape remains the same."
