    At 1:40 I mentioned that this filter was oiled, it's actually an oil-free filter! All K&N Black Air Filters are oil-free.
    To clean this filter, you simply rinse it out with water from the inside out. It is maintenance free.

      what size tubing for the SAE 30R7 did you get? 3/8, 1/2, 3/4? I want to order the tubing with this Cold Air Intake so I have everything I need with out having to run to the store in the middle of installation. Thanks for this video.

    Thank you for the walk through. I did it with my 9 year old. The only thing that would have been nice to know at the beginning was the possibility of going shopping for a longer tube. I ended up having the same issue on my 2018 5.0, so I’ll have to go back in and adjust it again. It would have been nice to be one and done. Not sure why K&N wouldn’t just provide a longer tube that you could cut to fit.

      @@stevehuang3295 yes hard to believe they cut them shorter, sad to hear it's happening to others. I thought maybe just bad luck with mine.

    Where did you hook the MAF sensor back up to?

    Do I need an oil separator in order to use the k+n filter?

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  2 года назад +1

      No, absolutely not. However, if you have a newer truck, I'd recommend getting one. I pull about 1 ounce per oil change out of the catch can. That's oil residue that would've gone back through the PCV valve into the engine to get burned off.

    Nice air intake, looks really good in the engine bay. Looks like you were working in a new shop? Very good description of the installation, looks like anyone can do this.

      Thanks, and yes this is my friend Jake's shop, shout-out to him for giving me a hand! Also, this install was very easy, anyone could do it with basic tools!

    Hi I just installed the k&n pflow,is it normal that it make a hight pitch whistle when taking of from stop sing? Other than that all is good !
    Thank you dimo

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  4 года назад +1

      Yes some tend to have a whistle! All that extra stuff on the OEM intake is what keeps them quiet, but also restricts them. Thanks for watching!

    Nice truck and intake! I had this same model on my 2011 Silverado. I just bought a 2020 F-150 5.0L and was thinking about getting another on for my new truck. HOWEVER in doing my research I found several others that give more hp and tq. I went with the AFE Momentum xp wet filter.

    What’s the second tube going to the intake? I just got a 2021 and it only have one tube. Assuming the one I have is the crank case tube.
    Thanks

    Good day Yrs. ago fellow I work for put K&N on 86? Chevy pkup. boy o boy there was a difference. Now I drive alot of back roads extreme dust in summer time, I don't know if they would do there job. We had 1952 IH tractor, in fact all old tractors had oil bath air cleaners. Thanks Do you get better gas milage? Thanks

      Yes, these are lifetime oiled filters, simply wash and oil and reuse, and yes they should improve fuel economy.

    Great video. You did say this was an oiled filter, correct? If so, do they make this kit with a non oiled filter. Also is there a difference between the two? Which is better.

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  4 года назад +1

      Wow you're correct I did say oiled, but this filter (and all Black K&N filters) are oil free! I will post a pinned comment to address this.
      Oiled filters are generally used for off-road, where there's more dust and dirt, the oil will help filter out this finer debris!

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  5 лет назад +1

      No update yet, plan on it shortly.
      It runs great, check out my MBRP exhaust install and before/after vid, really makes a difference on the 5.0 with just intake/exhaust.
      In total I spent like $1100 on intake/exhaust, I think it was money well spent.
      I will be doing an update on the JLT oil separator as well.

    Seems pathetic that a company with the name recognition of K&N couldn’t make the right hose length to fit your engine. Not to mention the too short of a piece to go over the throttle body intake.

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  5 лет назад

      $6 for a 2 foot piece and I used half of it so I'm thinking they just cut that piece a little short by accident!
      It's a great intake though, and very easy to install, I would recommend!

      The JLT 3.0 has done an amazing job, and I've upgraded to the new EV281 pcv valves so I shouldn't have an issue.
