Kanilea is the roll royce of the ukulele s industry... owning one of your instrument wiil always a dream for me...your platinum edition s are pure work of art.. They are & will always be the living jewels...stay blessed Joe sir... love from India.
Joe, I'm amazed at how well your instruments behave from day to day. Although I live right beside the South Arm of the Fraser River and less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean here on the south-west coast of British Columbia, Canada, I am delighted that my instruments from Kanile'a give me a consistent tone whether we are in the middle of a winter "wet spell" when we can have continuous rain for weeks at a time or during our summer when we can go for almost five months without seeing a drop of rain! Thanks for doing your best to stabilize the woods before you start building 'ukuleles! Diane K.
I Have me a Oha tenor that i love cause i couldnt get to the price of a kanilea one day hopefully it is a dream ukulele for me and have grown up on Kahuhipa street i remember when you first opened there and did a tour and would always come and droll and enjoy the smell of the new ukuleles and playing them was magical. Keep up the amazing art braddah Joe!
Thanks for the great video, Joe. Looking forward to this continuing series. I really appreciate the efforts Kanile''a is undertaking to replant a new Koa tree with each uke sold, keep up the great efforts!!
The best part of waiting for your Ukulele to come is to watch the Breakdown and learn the process. When you open the video, you say hello "mai kako" Joel Soluza here? What is mai kako...at least, that is how cc spells it.
Hello, thank you for the question! His name is Joe Souza. “Aloha Mai Kākou” is the greeting Joe opens this video with. It is roughly saying “hello, to all, welcome”
I rewatched this video and am happy to report I got my Ukulele, which I love. I only wish my pocketbook was bigger, as there are about three or four more ukuleles that I would love to purchase. They are wonderful to look at and, I'm sure beautiful to play. @@KanileaUkulele

This is great. Who does the enlay on the Islands ukuleles?
We do the inlays for islands, honus, and many other inlays. 99.9% of our inlays are done in house.
