    I also carry the same PLB, but I keep mine in a pocket in my PFD. If I capsize or some emergency occurs, the ability to access your PLD is greatly restricted if stored in a bag inside your main pack or even a camera bag between your legs. They are waterproof and will float if kept in the case they come in. With over 50 years experience, my motto is "if it isn't on you, it isn't with you". Thanks for sharing your gear list - always nice to see what other people carry. Cheers from Canada.

    Interesting info. Yeap, electronics have taken over our trips. It really can't be helped and still be safe and show the world what one sees and experiences. Beautiful place. So good to just be able to drink the water as opposed to here in USA we have to carry every drop. Many places that have water don't allow drinking it as it isn't safe. Or worse, it's dried up from over use. Matti take care. Always wear your jacket with Annie.

    Thanks for sharing your gear list. I am buying a canoe and I wonder about your canoe. What material is it made of? 20 kg sounds light weight even for a smaller canoe. I’m thinking about a bigger one but are the lighter ones sturdy enough?

    Mad rivers are ok, but when you have swift, nova craft, Langford and soiux river in one place. We all know who makes the best canoes. 🇨🇦

      Everyone has an opinion, Swift stole there hull design from the gentleman that owns Placidboatworks in Placid New York. In my opinion,the absolute best ,and original carbon/ Kevlar canoes on the market. A former employee from Placidboatworks moved to Canada and started making Swift canoe, not cool. This is fact.

    • @ktownc936
      @ktownc936 Год назад

      @@MeetMeOutside So it's a fact that bill swift was in fact American yes. It's funny how you think he stole a canoe design, whatever that means. Trust me today, they have developed many canoe designs since then that are superior. Maybe placid works was good back then. But it's not an opinion, just like the Swedes make the best axes in the world, Canadians build the best canoes, it's a fact.

      @@ktownc936 I’m fairly sure the oboriginal people didn’t vacuum infuse there canoe hulls😂. And the fact that I know Joe the owner of Placidboatworks, and have spent time with him, and he told me about the gentleman that he used to employ that took his design and methods to Canada to make canoes. That’s what that means. Other than that being a scumbag thing to do, he’s not overly concerned, Swift is far enough away that it doesn’t impact his business. Happy paddling !

      We also use Nova Craft and Canada makes really good canoes. There is a reason why we call it Canadian canoes or 'Kanadensare' in Sweden. 😀

    But that is very considerate of you towards your loved ones - and any search party. Really.
