The first hummingbird feeder I bought years ago didn't have any yellow on it, but yellow jackets kept chasing the hummingbirds away from it. They found the nectar, yellow color or not. So, I learned that the hummingbird feeders with beeguards stop the yellow jackets from reaching the nectar and they don't return, so the hummingbirds are no longer chased away from their feeders. I only buy the one type of feeder anymore because it always has the bee guards on it, and lol, they are yellow. Whatever.......they work great. And when you pull the little bee guards off when cleaning the feeder, they even snap open so you can clean them thoroughly, too. :)
Beautiful! I miss them. I live in central British Columbia, and my hummingbirds arrive in my backyard in late April, then leave in late August. They aren’t here long, but I sure enjoy them while they are here!

I have almost all of the same plants at my house in San Antonio. We typically get the black-chinned, with the occasional ruby-throat. The mexican sage is one of their favorites, as are the salvia. We have several Flame Acanthus bushes; also a coral honeysuckle on a trellis, they love that.
That is the Foxglove I have. It is called "Purple Dalmatian". Last year I planted Salvia "Lighthouse Red" it attracted a lot of Hummingbirds. This year I planted Salvia which is a deeper red colour. Hope it works as well as the Lighthouse Red did.

They started drinking it and seemed like they really liked it, but not one of them came back the following day. Miss my babies very much. Just hope this thing didn’t killed them. Please check this stuff in google and tell me what you think about it

Notice the wonderful shading on the side of the boxwood balls; they change color as the light changes.

I've never heard of that nectar. Try pennington huming bird nectar I use it and huming birds come to my back porch all the time!
I took the yellow accents off my feeder but unfortunately didn't stop the wasps :(
