I find that the base and top coat of the infinite shine lasts me for over 2 weeks regardless of the polish I use in between. I still buy all my OPI as infinite shine any way lol. I think I just like the shiny caps 😅
That’s great to hear… I wondered that. If the base and top (with their properties) actually did increase longevity… I just don’t like the top coat 🤣 but I also don’t care for longevity… if I cared, and it worked, I would def use it
Okay, now I need to try the NS line. I learned so much today, thank you for uploading! Have a great weekend!
Thank u, u too! I have reviews of all the nature strong polishes, it was 2 videos. Just do a search on my channel they’ll come up! 💙☺️
I agree with you. I do love the nail lacquer but I really love the nature strong line. The formula is fantastic and easy to work with. Not sure if it's just the color I got for infinite shine but I didn't care for it.
The Infinite Shine I have, are good too. I can’t say anything negative about them (honestly)… I just disliked the top coat 🙈
my favorite top coat is the opi volumizing top coat- it is thick and it even smooths sheet marks out lol!!
I'm not familiar with that one but sounds good haha
That’s great info because I have been wondering. I got infinite shine primer , colour and top coat and it stayed shiny. Lasted 4 days before I got a small chip and I worked hard without gloves all those days. Took it off because i wanted to see if there was any staining. Was perfect and my nails looked healthy… which for me was amazing. Trying a different colour for Christmas. Afterwards I’ll check the lacquer I have with the same primer and top coat. Can’t get any OPI locally but will be interested in trying the nature strong soon.
That’s awesome that it lasted nicely for you! So glad to hear that 🥰 I hope u enjoy the nature strong colors, they r nice!
@PolishLabRat I love the top coat! For me it dries super fast... first time I used the primer it was super awful to paint over but next time I shook it to death lol. Problem solved.
Thanks for the clarification of what each line is marketed to do. I tried the regular and infinite shine line and didn’t see a difference in wear time. The Infinite shine line doesn’t last 10 days for me without any chips. I hear great things about their green line but I also hear these type of polishes tend to separate after two years or so, not ready to invest in something that won’t really perform well after two or more years. Have a good Memorial Day weekend 😊👍🏼
I haven’t heard that about the green lines but also haven’t owned it for 2 years+ so could be (and I just dunno) 🤷🏻♀️🤣
Hi Quinn, I'm glad you brought up the separation problem. I find it to happen after just a few months, even with perfect storage (no light exposure, temperature control, keeping the bottle shaken and the neck clean, etc.). But I do love the colors in the Nature Strong line!!
Nail polish separation is not really a "problem" per se, and it's quite normal actually. It happens to all brands, and just happens when the polish has been sitting there untouched for a bit, the particles just settle differently (think like olive and vinegar)... a small shake and it's back to normal. I mean, this is unrelated to it being a green line or whatever, it's just a normal thing in nail polish bottles.
@@PolishLabRat Thanks for letting me know😊
Nature Strong is the only one I'm not allergic to. I hope they keep making them for selfish reason.
What ingredient are you allergic to from the others that’s not in Nature Strong?
@@PolishLabRatTosylamide/Epoxy Resin, Tosylamide/Formaldehyde Resin, or a combo of those. I break out in a rash on my eyes and neck. My eyes have swollen shut. The reaction is very uncomfortable and lasts for about a week. The rash gets swollen and liquid comes out and cracks and it's so sore, like a big blister. So I have to avoid these ingredients. I can't wear most Orly either, only their Breathable line. I can't wear Essie, only the Espressie line. I still manage to collect hundreds of polishes. 🤣
'if you're willing to pay more, let's make this polish cruelty-free!'
It ain’t even about the payment… honestly… 🤷🏻♀️ there are cheaper polishes than this that are cruelty free, and also it’s very wishy washy because they OPI doesn’t test on animals but sell in countries that do, which makes them kinda have to third party some stuff and and thus making them not cruelty free 🤦🏻♀️… and if we r gonna talk about what country that is, we might as well quit everything starting with Disney, Nike, the nba, and basically every single item we own in our homes… /sigh
Another helpful comparison and especially good to know the differences between these three.
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
I doubt that the "gel" formula would have any hardening due to light since the bottle is not opaque.
Yeah, but I think maybe the top coat does, since it comes in an opaque bottle… that’s why I’m wondering. Also the ingredients kinda tell me it could have something there.
I realize this is an old video, however, I'd like to note a difference I've seen that I didn't see mentioned. Infinite Shine uses different glitter and shimmer than the regular OPI laquer when producing the exact same polish. The Infinite versions look.. a bit more amped up.
Ooooh that's nice! I've never owned both regular and IS finishes of the same color, so definitely would have never noticed that. Interesting!! (I think one time like, OPI sent me IS of a color that I had already bought, but I didn't think to compare them... also I think they were creams haha)
@PolishLabRat I don't own double of any either. Well except maybe a mini IS that I'm fairly certain is I'm Really an Actress. I've just compared them in the store and the IS always seems to shine more. It's a bit more subtle in the shimmers, like Leonardo's Model Color or Turn on the NorthernLights for example. In the mini IS vs the laquer of I'm Really an Actress the holo particles are much bigger, though no better quality. Both polishes are beautiful, just different. I get the IS when I can only because where I buy mine they are older shades at $3.99. I wouldn't say it's usually worth the price difference if you're paying full price.
I find the nature strong to be a mixed bag. I get great wear in some shades, others have chipped almost right away. I did use their base and top coats, btw. Inquiring minds want to know though, what's the color on your left hand??
Color Club “East Austin” 😍 - I haven’t done a wear test on the nature strong line, I just love them formula-wise and the color range is pretty good imo ☺️
I agree with you! The Nature strong is a close dupe for Dazzle Dry
Close dupe in what sense?
Your videos are so informative! I’ve always wondered about the differences. Wish OPI would make a rounded brush. Get on the bandwagon, OPI! 😂
Also, am I the only one that loves it when your manis are different colors on each hand? I want to do this now (although I know you do it for video reasons) 😂❤.
Hahaha thanks! I think mix and matching is fun! Def try it and see how u feel about it 🥰
My experience with Infinite Shine was such that I won't buy it again. I used IS base coat, polish and top coat and it chipped just as fast as any other polish. Definitely not worth the price.
This is why I don’t do wear tests 😂 what lasts 10 days on one person chops in 1 day on another, so I just rather teach you guys what I think makes any manicure last longer, and then u experiment and decide what works better for u 👍🏼
@Polish_Lab_Rat at the time I bought it I would try to wear the same polish for a week, and it chipped the next day. Now I change my polish frequently so wear time isn't really an issue. Also, thanks for all your informative content!
Yw! Thank u for watching :)
I agree
My infinite shine chips away is 2 days and I do use the base and top coat, I don't think I am gonna continue buying it cause it costs more without being better.
I didn’t really like the IS top coat (takes forever to dry and I can’t deal with that haha), so have never used it. Idk how good it is or not as far as manicure longevity
How long does the nature strong last and dos it chip
I haven’t done wear tests on it
The Infinite Shine and the regular OPI lacquers are NOT compatible. I just tried it after watching this video, and I found out the hard way!
They are compatible. Email me or DM on IG and we can try to troubleshoot what happened 👍🏼
@@PolishLabRat Nothing to troubleshoot. I applied the Infinite Shine base coat, let it dry well, and then applied a coat of the original lacquer. The lacquer gummed up...didn't go on smoothly. A couple nails were "ok", not great. Overall, it was one big mess, so I removed it all and began again, this time with the Original base coat and lacquer.
Thank you!👍
What do you think of their fast drying top coat is it better than the nature strong top coat, which is the fastest drying, thank you
I’ve never tried a fast drying top coat by OPI. The nature strong dries fast enough for me. But I haven’t tried others by OPI
@@PolishLabRat thank you so much
What is the name of the color gray?
I don't remember, it was probably "Peace of Mined" or "Taupless Beach"... one of those.
I don’t like the handle for the Infinite Shine. It’s too slippery.
Oh interesting! I hadn’t thought of that but makes sense
💯 about topcoats!!!
💅🏼☺️👍🏼
Both IS and NS work better for me than the regular line. Not sure why. Could be a nail chemistry thing, but regular OPI often goes on 'sludgy' for me. Brand new bottles can go on clumpy when they hit my nails. Once I get the 'clumpy' polish, they always dry weird, and chip worse for me. IS and NS don't do any of that.
Hmmm interesting… I haven’t experienced that with the regular line. I mean I’m sure some have bad formulas but not something I’ve found often at all with Opi regular line. Now the NS is for sure and very noticeably a better formula 😍
