Great video showing the display options! Also it shows exactly how ridiculous Yaesu was/is in keeping this awful procedure for changing the display on the FTM-300. I mean, how does everyone involved in programming designing this radio sign off on this?
I've owned the 300 for almost 3 years, love the radio, flawless functioning. All I want to do is have the clock/calendar on my desk to look at while it's monitoring repeaters and perhaps APRS on B band. But i can't. Because as you can see on this video you have to go through so many steps to get to the clock no one is going to do that. When I do, if I touch anything on the radio the clock screen disappears and I have to go through the same procedure everytime... so I end up not using it. So missed opportunity by Yaesu they have a display button right on the radio that can bring up the clock. Instead all the button does is bring up the band scope! that's it, and I find it almost useless anyway, I live rural so it doesn't bring much up and not useful. The FTM-400 which I now got for my base radio, brings up a display mode with each press of the display button. Compass screen, clock, altitude, GPS satellites. It takes 2 button presses, about 2 seconds to bring up the clock. also you can program which screens come up. I now enjoy the analog/digital clock, AM/PM, month day year, and both channels on one screen. Nice for desktop doing bills, phone etc. to see the date and time.
So, all they had to do is keep this scheme on the 300. Or at least allow us to add one of the display modes to one of the programmable buttons on the mic. But no this is not an option on the radio. So Yaesu, what gives you can't add this as a firmware update.
    Unbelievable.

The audio was loud and clear 1 month ago and again just now.
