So check the following when buying a used m4: • Air conditioning on earlier model - pressure sensor fails, leaks from condenser or pipe lines • Seat belt recall on 2014-15 models • Check Rocker cover for cracks • check for Oil leaks • Crank hubs upgraded? • iDrive is up to date • Panel air filters are better • Ensure substantial pipework if after market pipes have been added as softer pipes can collapse under pressure • Have flaps been removed from exhaust • Has DCT gearbox mapped been done if remapped?

I know of an M4 F83, now has 200000km on the odometer, and the only problem was 1 oil leak and vanos, other than the last no problems at all! And it is driven very hard!
This video is missing one more fairly common problem - random/intermittent failures of ABS sensors which cause the car to lock differential and M modes. These may clear themselves or require a sensor to be replaced.
One thing I would add. on all the s55/n55 cars ive seen a handful of valvetronic motor failures. most of the time its on cars that were sitting for a long period of time. the motor will take out the 5v reference for a bunch of modules causing the car to go into limp mode with a bunch of faults. fairly easy repair.
